    Just a note for all - even if the system isnt brakes, if it uses brake fluid it should be replaced periodically as it attracts moisture and will corrode parts of the system at the lowest point. That fluid looks very very old.

    By the way…this has to be the Coolest Father and Son mechanic video I’ve seen yet!!! 😎 Good job Dad👍🏼
    ¡Great job Jr. You’re a good assistant and an excellent 🎥cinematographer!!! You bring more clarity to your dad’s already good explanations!

    Good pace of video. I am always amazed how relatively clean other 460s are!

      @@dingalingalong cheers Ding, I thought my G was filthy!. it will be cleaner now I have a hoist and tidy up below. in australia, we dont have snow. most off road I do has been mud, and sand. admittedly, I haven't done much in the last 5 years of ownership and dont drive it too much!

      @@dingalingalong I fit those wings a few years ago when I put the m117 5 L in it. all 463 parts with original 460 wings cut to fit the bits. I should've made a video on it too!

    Good tutorial with lots of lessons learned along the way. Thanks for taking the time and please consider providing the G world with more vids. Good job Dad and I believe I see a burgeoning career in film for your young son!

    Thanks Much!! great video. Unrelated Question... I can see your U joints for all shafts have locks on them. Thant means you have made some kind of adaptation on that matter. How did you do it? What did you do? Sorry if it too much to ask for an explanation. 👍🏻

      thanks mate. im sorry im not knowledgable on the driveshafts yet. I did have the front one shortened when I put the m117 V8 and transmission in. the rear one has been 'balanced' a few years ago due to some driving 'wobble'. im not sure if they changed anything on them but your observations suggest so. sorry, im not very helpful on this one!

    Hello please do you know where can I find new master cilinders and also the slaves? Thank you

      I bought mine through the MB classic centre. I have also bought parts of fourbyfourclub.com, a known Gwagen parts (new) seller. I dont think you can buy the rear master cylinder new anymore, but the repair kit is available and they were only about 100USD when I bought one I think (haven't fit it yet as mine was ok)

    Thanks for sharing. Did the W460 have a center diff lock ?

    • @w116036
      @w116036  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not on the first generation 460s Emil. They are 2wd 4wd setup so when you put the transfer case into 4wd it's effectively locked.

    I’ve got a similar hoist/lift. Looks like you made some special adapter to lift up your g. Was that custom or did you purchase a particular one?

    • @w116036
      @w116036  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Daniel, I made this video quickly to show you what I use. I see a company called Jackaroo make them. I just bought them from the company I bought the hoist off th-cam.com/video/8Fehn1-Fxvw/w-d-xo.html

    Any update on the front slave bleeding process?

      In the end it was the hose that although externally looked ok, must have deteriorated internally. it was blocking fluid passage! Changed the hose and after this, all good David.
