This is the BEST military band and drill team. I have never seen anything like this in the USA. Thank you Norway. Texas A&M band is a very close second.
dont know how many times i have watched and listened to this, but, it seems to get better every time. an amazing display of drill and musicianship. god bless the HMKG.
This kids really rocks...what an incredible perfomance, perfection is not a question in the minds of these young kids. A flawless perfomance of discipline and inmense way of focus in this drill. Its just amazing to see a bunch of kids doing these kind of shows.
I'm a high school drum major, i showed this to some drum corps-nuts in my band, they were blown away by this. Would love to see these guys in person sometime.

As a swede I really do look up to HMKG. We have the Swedish Army, but you truly are one of the best marching bands in the world even seen from a swede's perspective :) Love to you from your neighbour Sweden.
Had the privilege of taking part (in a military band) in the |Colchester Searchlight Tattoo in 1996 with this band and drill team If i am not mistaken they are all conscripts who serve 1 year of national service, they are truly amazing, very professional and their discipline both on the arena and off is unbelievable.
@@baldrbraa sorry it was actually 1990 not 1996. I took part in the Royal Tournament in 1996. You are right the heat was horrendous at Colchester. Shame its gone like so many more brilliant events.
I grow up in Oslo from 1992 To 1997. My father was officer Vegard Løge in the castle guard. HMKG was the my favorite from i was 1 year and watched Edinburgh Tattoo on tv. I soon begun to play drums everyvere, and in 1994 i olmost could play the drum starting GAMMEL JEGERMARSH when i was two years old😅
Do notice that there isn't one drill word? These gentlemen certainly deserve the title of the Kings military/drill team! They are so wonderful...congrats men.

I am Norwegian myself, and I`m am sincerely proud when HMKG have their international shows. The most amazing thing thoug, is that king`s guards are switched out every year. The drilltroop you see here have just 10 months of training and still are the best in the world :)
I had almost forgotten about this video. I first saw it years ago, sometime around 2011. The precision of the drill team is magnificent, as is the band. And as someone who has played drums since 1959, it's a pleasure to the "sound of drums", and not someone clickity clacking away on plexiglass.
absolutely marvelous! the music and drill is unbelieveable. as an ex- british army soldier (and bandsman) i am in awe of these absolutely brilliant soldiers. i especially liked the way they broke from morricone into what i think is their regimental march (can anyone enlighten me on this) i will certainly view this again, and again, and again, dont think i need to keep going on this.
You're absolutely right, Sir! That is the HMKG's regimental march and it's called "Gammel Jegermasj" (The old Hunter's March), written on notes in 1799 although it is believed that the march has even older traditions.
I have no idea how I wound up here, but I am totally impressed. This is amazing! That drum line was so clean and in sync. Bravo! "When Johnny comes marching home again Hurrah! Hurrah! We'll give him a hearty welcome then Hurrah! Hurrah! The men will cheer and the boys will shout, the ladies they will all turn out And we'll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home."
***** ~ So true, and the reverse are the terms 'you suck' or 'that blows', etc. Whenever I asked my grandkids to use the word 'stinks' instead, they would roll their eyes. After I explained to them that both terms were derived from sexual connotations, I never heard them use those words again. PS - I never learned to speak a second language, so I am very envious of anyone who does. Besides, your English is actually very good.
This is definitely a 5 star performance. Such perfection. I could watch this type of video 24/7. Thank you for sharing. Applause, cheers, fireworks and respect for them all.
Rifles of US Garand M-1. We used them in Drill Competitions also. For "fancy work", such as spinning, Queen Anne Salute, etc., we used the Springfield M1903.
GoldenCode The M-1 weighs 9 pounds. Let's see most people spin a 9 pound "baton" with a bayonet, much less toss and catch it. I'd look like Swiss cheese after one practice session.🤤

TheDrummie1 I played flute in the Norwegian band that year. It was the middle of a heatwave, like over 40 C in the daytime. It was a very difficult ground to do the drill in, because it was after dark, there were no straight lines, and the searchlights were all over the field. Somehow we managed :)

Touching the Miracle -- will be most precise with love and LOT of respect from your most northern neighbor And, as you understand for me Farvel Til En Slavisk Kvinne is the best march It's hard to believe but in my opinion HMKG performs it better than our band!

I think the united states marines drill core are pretty much just as good so check em out
I would hesitate to say that a&m is 2nd best, the best thing they have is size, with that kind of size, precision is less important
This is one of the best drills I've seen from HMKG. Everything was precise and I could not spot any mistakes that I usually do.
