I just started watching this video and the greatest thing I noticed is that there is no loud blaring obnoxious music! You actually get to hear the sounds of work. 👍🏼
I sure hope you kept this old tractor, I love it. When I was younger I had an old 9N and It was rough, but always worked. Worked like a mad man. Sometimes she didnt like starting up when it was really cold, but was fun none the less. Thanks for sharing this video with us and I hope you have a blessed week. Dale
Yep nice logs sure brings back memories. I did alot of tractor logging in my day. So if i may suggest a way to simllify loading those logs. When your trailer is next to a bank as yours was cut a couple of log skids and set them from the bank to the trailer. It is easier to use your pigpole to stack on the skids than to reach over onto the trailer. Then simply role the logs in place this makes for easier handling. Take it from someone who did it this way to make a living. When i first started all i had was a chainsaw and a pickup. I actually skided with the pick up and cut 5' long pulpwood. Till i made enough to get my first tractor. Worked my way up to the point i had a loader and dozer with a flatbed dump truck to haul equipment and logs on. I also had gotten a Frick double 00 sawmill. Unfortunately a freak accident put me out of work and buisness. So stay safe out there and have fun i sure miss those days. Some said why do you like it so much with all the labor it takes. You know its hard to explain but it just never seemed like it was all that hard to me as i enjoyed what i was doing and not saying this as bragging but i got pretty darn good at what i did.
Your videos are great man, and such a very nice tractor there. We have a 5000 here still working good except of it's hydraulic lift it's a bit jumpy and cannot lift harrowing implement, so sad to think. But again i really love watching your tractor action videos, thanx for uploading man..
did this for years ..hardest way to log i think ...and i had a winch ...never worked with horses tho ...i got a skidder and didn't know what everyone was complaining about ...lots more mechancing with a skidder tho
You might wanna see if you can have a grapple attachment fitted to the front of that tractor. While the hook and boom might be good for dragging a log out of the brush,a grapple in front would make loading and unloading saw logs alot easier and faster.
I don't know where you are but it looks a lot like where I live. I love the woods and working with tractors and equipment. My kind of life. Your videos are well done and I enjoy watching. Thanks!
Some of the cuts are too heavy for your wife to carry. I see that she does not complain but she should not carry what is too heavy for her to carry and she should know when and when not to carry. You hfave a wonderful wife, keep her safe! All the best, Edgar
A lot of work skidding logs and loading and unloading. Me and my wife cut and skid and loaded my 18 foot trailer with over 50 pine trees a couple of years ago. After multiple trips back and forth we were finally through. It gives you satisfaction in knowing them logs will be turned into lumber. Like your old Ford Tractor. What kind of saw was you using? Have a Blessed Day Friend!
Homegrown Country Homestead It’s an old Husqvarna L65. Pre chain brake laws. Thanks for the compliment on the tractor...it’s a good one! Thanks for watching!
Mountain Crest Farm I can understand that. I like to keep that stuff in there because I think it helps tell the story. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@falllineridge not to mention that you didn't pin the hitch. Great way to loose your equipment and/or total your truck should the safety chains hold. Pinching the strap in a sharp corner is also not a good idea. Not trying to be critical. Just hate for you to lose your equipment in an effort to save a dollar or two.
tractor flips and rollovers are one of the largest groups of logging accidents and deaths in America. Most result from tractors towing heavy logs, hitting some small grade, and flipping back. You appear to be headed in that direction, and your tractor lacks a roll over bar. good luck
Lol sloooowww. Jibs are useless. Skid with a cable. Then use a LOADER with forks. Two fork loads and you'd be done instead of pissing around with a 3 pt hitch jib crane
You are not much of a logger or tractor operater you hook the log on the end and pick it up about a foot off the ground . Then proceed to haul it out of the woods . surprised the front of the tractor was not lifting off of the ground . It's amazing what people will try just to make money off of TH-cam .
What an ignorant comment. That's a 5,000 lb tractor...even more if the rear tires are calcium filled. A pine log isn't anywhere near lifting it off the ground.

Old school ford will never let you down. My jubilee still run no leaks or smoke 1950 model
That means there is no oil in it right
Nice little Ford tractor. It's little, but it's a work horse. Nice job
Great video. I’m going to do the same next week. Glad I’ve got flat ground. Every time you backed down that hill scared me.

Not a bad idea. Thanks, Ken! And I agree, it's fun when you enjoy it, no matter how hard it is.

Nature, smell of lumber, no one to disturb. I wish i had a job like that.
I did it for years. Best job in the world till summer time hits. Then it sucks...lol
Thanks for the video............... jonjon...
Be sure to put a safety pin on they ball hitch!
Loggin and rollin, eh? Great video, thumbs up.
Good way to start a video. Loading an old Ford tractor! 👍
Jerry Little Thanks Jerry!
I agree with Darrel Carson. Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing
I have a Ford 3000 diesel tractor don't have those tongs though looks like they do a good job

Not a bad idea. Thanks for the tip!
I like his videos no music on them
That’ll keep you busy for a while! Nice looking stuff and I enjoyed the video!
Jack Stanley Thanks!
That was a lot of fun, brother.
Bradley Jones It was definitely a great time!
That has got to be one of the handiest 3 point attachments I've seen. 👍
I don't know where you are but it looks a lot like where I live. I love the woods and working with tractors and equipment. My kind of life. Your videos are well done and I enjoy watching. Thanks!
cogpastorc Thanks for the kind words!
Great video and real nice load of logs!
Dillons Woodworks Thanks Mike!
What's the heaviest log that thing can hold on the tongs with size of tractor? I want to buy one
Great video
Would you rather have a skid steer for log moving or tractor? (Just in general, not considering implements. Besides a grapple maybe)
I would prefer a skid steer, but they are waaaay more expensive than a small farm tractor
That's neat but how did he attach it to his pig pole
That grapple sure works slick!
Northwest Sawyer It’s definitely a handy tool!
I love Fords
You might have just parked by the hill at 7:40 and loaded the trailer.
Good show.
Never mind. 15:20. Lol.
That was some nice logs. Should make fine lumber.
ㅊㅊ
Nice. What's the name of the 3 point attachment your using? Thanks, keep up the good work and stay safe, Dave.
Dave Kana I would also like to know
Boom pole
Dave Kana In some parts of Canada it’s called a “farm hand”. Pretty descriptive in a different kind of way.
Mike Gray, I ended up buying one from my local Tractor Supply Store because of your video, pretty handy, Dave.
Boom pole with snakeing tongs.
are you near the Appalachian mountains?
Totally awesome video 😂😂😂
Hey.. what's thoughts about a mf270 pulling a trailor with 2000bm of lumber in white sand.
Looks like fun.
What's that part called that's on the end of the jib that hooks the logs and where can I get one?
Its called log tongs you can get them on Amazon or ebay I'm sure
Nice haul
never knew a major could pull a log butt
I do it the same way with my MF. It work great. Don't pay any attention to the naysayers. They are too lazy to be out there.

Edgar Milson Um, that’s not my wife. That’s one of my friends...and he’s a dude.
🤣
Completely understand why there are no fenders on your trailer ;)

Did you lose your helper at the end?
froggleggers Yep...He had prior engagements for the afternoon. Thanks for watching!
Was that Bigfoot at 15:15?
That's not logging, that's picking up logs someone else has already logged and put in a pile.
Tyler Pickle Thanks for the correction 🤪
I think “logging” was a shorter title then “picking up logs someone else has already logged and put in a pile”
great video once you got going. 4 minutes of loading the tractor and getting going is a bit much though.
Mountain Crest Farm I can understand that. I like to keep that stuff in there because I think it helps tell the story. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Mountain Crest Farm to much nont
Is this the timber that we saw being pushed over by the Bulldozer in your last video?
Roy G. Dodd Yessir it is!
Pleased to see that "red" kerosene going in the tank. Clean fuel is sure worth the couple extra pennies.
Desiel not carosene
SmoothBore It’s off road diesel. Same as the green stuff but with added dye...but no road tax.
Entertaining channel, and , hey, thanks for subscribing to mine.
Small Workshop Guy Right back at you! Thanks for the sub!
So you have a ford tractor and a gmc truck. In my family that would not work out ford all the way. Love the vid though
Very inefficient! 💪
It's called a boom pick

Have any idea what brand boom pole that is?
I’ve got one very similar. Mine came with a post hole auger. Use it solely for this now.
wow no fender tool 100 % ENGAGED
works work
That's not logging. That's fire wood omg
If ya cant tie a knot...tie a lot
nice old girl
Thunbs down !
what's the big deal ?
E
I can see you have no idea of how it is done with a tractor
Why don't you get the same equipment available to him and show us how its done? Maybe three people will watch the first four minutes.
This guy can't tie a knot ???

Money dude

Who rattled your cage?
Don't watch. You will not be missed here and probably anywhere people actually know you.
