  • David Lee Roth- Live in Japan (1988): Put together all the re-edits and recuts I originally had done into one compilation/mini-concert. I ended up redoing all of them because they looked fuzzy. They are now a little more crisp and clear!
    Live 1988 Skyscraper Tour.
    Tracks:
    Goin Crazy
    Just Like Paradise
    Stand Up
    Just A Gigolo/ I Ain't Got Nobody
    Panama
    California Girls
    Vocals- David Lee Roth
    Guitar- Steve Vai
    Drums- Gregg Bissonette
    Bass- Matt Bissonette
    Keyboard- Brett Tuggle
Footage originally from the TOSHIBA 1988 David Lee Roth Special.
PLEASE NOTE: footage and sound is from different concerts so being in sync perfectly is near impossible to the live footage. I did what I could for your entertainment.

I find it SUPER ironic that Dave was the one who essentially told Eddie he didn't like the idea of keyboards being brought into Van Halen music... yet when they're playing panama here you can here keyboard being played as well.

    • @kitoyobeni1
      @kitoyobeni1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Its the difference between keyboards behind the guitar riff and keybords replacing the guitar riff. When you have EVH in the band, you want him playing guitar. Vai is not playing keys here.

@@thefonzkiss Eddie was a true musician. Roth and hagar's books are just sour grapes. As Eddie got older he matured as a musician. He played keyboards on fair warning and women and children first before jump came out. Dlr left because he knew Eddie was the main source of that band and Eddie was tired of doing cover songs that dlr wanted to do. Eddie never lost his touch on the guitar just wanted to expand his creative mind and I thought it was brilliant.

STAND UP KILLS on this vid. let's face it. These are top flight Musicians. Roth, he's the best, hands down, No, he didnt always hit the words LIVE, but IF YOU EVER heard him explain, he didn't care if it sounded 'just like the record' he was there to put on an energetic show. Besides who could sing perfectly all the time jumping off of drum risers and kicks that took him off the ground. His voice in the studio is ALWAYS RIGHT ON...so, I guess, if you want it to sound just like the record, stay home and listen to the record. ;-) Roth Ruled....Still does, in his own Dave Way.

No denying the band is phenomenal and his first 3 albums are some of my favorite but rock albums but he can't sing worth a shit live, to the point that is actually pisses me off, I want to hear the songs exactly like the album and I'm not sure if he chooses to sing them all crap and out of key or if he's just a studio guy that can't pull it off live, either way it's frustrating to listen to.
