The new album is fantastic. Slick production, every instrument can be heard clearly, it’s an easy play through album start to finish, each musician gets their chance to shine.
This album is killer! I don't know why I'm seeing so many negative comments and reviews!? This album grooves! There are a lot of badass riffs! And James' lyrics and voice are amazing! Great job, Shawn! Cheers! 🍻
This is the second song after 72 seasons that I like from the new album. It is different than the usual Metallica chugging stuff. The vocal melody is also different from what James used to make.
@@ShawnMcNair It's all good and fine, not really my thing but better than some stuff they did in the past. I played a few of their new vids this morning, so I'm an interested observer and happy they're still inspiring players and entertaining millions of people around the world after all these years. The Jimmy Kimmel shows have been neat to see and I really enjoyed the Live 2016 Berkeley record shop classic setlist I watched recently.
@@THRASHMETALFUNRIFFS I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. There are some good, and not so good I need more time with it before I decide what I think
I've only just heard the album in full. "Crown", "Chasing light" and "Room of mirrors" are my favourites - the songs that remain in my head after having heard the final song on the album. Before its release, I thought the album might be a mix of 80s nostalgia as in "Lux" and heavily-muted rhythms as in "Darkness". After one hearing, I think the new songs we heard today fall somewhere inbetween. For me the rhythm guitars (each song makes me want to play along) and vocals are the strongest points. As a Metallica fan of almost 30 years, I'm happy with the album. Of course, there are a few things I wish were different, but I want to be positive here, so I'll keep quiet!
Hate to be the Debbie downer here but what is metallica thinking? This is bland, boring, samey and uninspired. Lyrically it rings hollow. Compositionally there are some interesting ideas, but realistically it sounds like some reload reject that never made it onto st. Anger. Solo- where do I even begin? Boring, repetitive, uninspired pentatonic noodling. This is the same guy who ripped the unforgiven solo in one take, that wrote the solo to One, for Pete's sake. Riffs are cobbled together ideas that may sound ok in isolation but together make little sense. Bass - Jason Newsted would like to turn your Amp up a bit, Robert. Singing is OK I guess. Drumming is stock. Like really stock. It sounds fucking stock to my ears it's stock. Kudos again to Shawn who has the quickest turnaround on covers but also NAILS them.
lol your a hater you are just plain dumb sorry but new Metallica is insanely good you just need to shut up and stop complaining im so tired of the complainers kirks solos are amazing all the riffs are so good lyrics are very good Metallica is unstoppable so stop complaining and deal with it.
Thanks so much dude :) I actually enjoyed the album a lot more than I thought I would. The other singles besides Lux + the title track didn’t really get me too excited for the rest of it, but I listened to the whole thing and I thought it was great. I really like Shadows Follow a lot. Those are totally fair criticisms though, and there are definitely some parts of the album I would change around if I could - but overall I thought it was the best album since reload imo
@@ShawnMcNair Hardwired and Death Magnetic were very good to I like all there albums I love the melody in room of mirrors and all the solos in Inamorata do you know if james does any lead parts in the album? Also I didn't hear Rob's vocals did you?
What do you guys think about the new Metallica album?

Thank you so much!
Striking riffs but the last one is fucking fantastic
Love that last riff!
How do u get that tone ?
I’m Honestly Not A Fan of The New Album But they’re at least trying to give the people new music.
Killing cover of a boring song. Great guitar tone, good job!

Thanks so much, although I do like this song quite a bit :)
