Upgrading My Modern Gaming Setup/ Living Room Tour 2021 - PS5 + A80J + Immersion

- With the PS5 bringing next gen 4k 120hz HDR games and content, upgrading to a 4k OLED HDR tv was just inevitable. I took the opportunity to upgrade my living room/gaming room setup with a new 77 inch Sony A80J, LED lights, some new tech, and decor.
Note this is not a full review of the Sony A80J OLED, I may post a full review in the near future.

I've also installed the Govee immersion lighting kit to spruce up the visuals, as well as some much needed wireless headphone devices. (I received the Govee lights for free, but I use them regularly before this, and it does not alter my opinions.)
My camera wasn't able to fully capture the OLED in all it's glory, so the videos are not completely accurate due to frame rate of my recording, however, take my word, this TV is Amazing at any size.

I love and appreciate your modern setup. So many game room tours are just insanely crowded rooms with stuff in boxes stacked on top with no order. Your minimal setup with high level components is a dream.

Spending money on extra parts. When you upgrade, purchase a high quality passive soundbar, and AV receiver with Bluetooth. You'll eliminate extra boxes. Also, get a switch to hardwire the PS and TV. Also, maybe make a panel for the sub with grille cloth. Enclosures inside enclosures is a no no.

Was browsing TH-cam a bit for some inspiration for redecorating my living room. This looks awesome, especially with the upgrades you did with the slats. Is the wood cabinet on the left also a Besta cabinet? Seems like something different.

awesome setup! love the idea of making the Ikea Besta look “built in”. connecting to sennheiser momentum is great! will have to try that out. it’s quite pricey though
can you add additional light bulbs to that immersion system? would love to expand it further
personally, I’d like you to add a bit more saturation in your post processing. picture is quite flat, looks straight out of camera recorded ina flat profile, so it doesn’t even look like a LUT or colour grading. (watching on an iPad Pro)

Get a wireless kit and move your subwoofer into a proper place for it, or if you want to try to comprise with your soundbar being on without disrupting the little one, try placing it next to your seats where then you won't need it as loud.

Hi, really cool setup. Would you mind sharing the IKEA module setup? I can't figure out how you made the wooden part to the left, it doesn't look like its 60 cm wide.
The wooden part was not part of Ikea, That was built in. However you can still use the ikea Besta vertical cabinets in the wood finish and it would have similar look. 👍🏼

Many have been asking, the recliner couch is from mobilia.ca/en/norway-m929283773.html (Canada Only). At the time it was more than half the current price, so I was lucky. Thanks for comments!

Thanks Manuel. I got the blinds from blindsgalore, then ordered smart motors separately from amazon actually. If you are in the USA Amazon has greywind motorized zebras which are a better option IMO

Can you give us an update if Sony has moved the bandwidth to 40 or 48gbps on
ps5? Is important to know if we have to buy the C2 (48gbps) or can go with cheaper C1 or G1 which are only 40gbps and if could be enough for PS5 future firmware updates(12bit covarage) etc ..

Nice setup! Just wondering why you chose the A80J over the C1 which has 4x HDMI 2.1 Ports?
It was considered as having slightly better picture quality overall for movies/tv and which I do a lot more of. Also I don’t plan on having an xbox or another gaming console.

I had a quick question. The Besta tv stand you have does it feel like the tv is sitting higher? I am getting the 77” A80J in about a week and I was looking at the besta tv stand. I see they have one which is 15” in height and 25” is the custom design, just like how you designed it. Trying to decide if I should go for the 15” or 25” height stand? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This Besta unit, is just the right height for the 77” with a stand; at least for me. It’s only a bit high if you plan to wall mount the TV. The shorter Besta is more suitable for wall mounting TV as there’s more clearance.

Actually, that was built in during renovations. Ikea does have wood finish vertical shelfs like the Besta, that would work great.

How far are you from TV? I’m 9.7-10 feet away and not sure if it will be too big. I currently have a 55 inch and feel 65 May not be a big upgrade and also the A80j I heard the 77 panel is not better.
I am about 8ft away. It’s a good size and distance for me.

What kind of couch is that?
It does have Dolby atoms. Change the audio settings to DTS and your receiver will see it as Dolby atoms
