    GO usually refers to a lighter variant of a Standard thing. For example Android GO edition.

    Yes, it has a TN-display, which is a real bummer when it comes to viewing angles.
    However, a TN has faster response time, which makes scrolling and playing more pleasurable - less blur. 😄

    Good video. I question whether "Go" language should even denote affordability -- it ought to just speak to portability. I have the Pixelbook Go and I'll tell ya, that speaks to portability, definitely not price.

    • @michaelcorcoran8768
      @michaelcorcoran8768 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I was just pricing their 4K display pixelbook though and I definitely concur. It's not affordable!

    • @bmo3778
      @bmo3778 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      there was no "standard" of how to use and interpret that term. google definitely had made it "portable and affordable" on their Android Go branding, but apparently samsung on this case made it something different. I'm curious to see other companies trying to adopt this term
      edit: after watching the video further, Samsung definitely intent a similar meaning to Google's branding here

    I don't think I could add a non-touch screen device to my portable arsenal. Touching screens is just part of my workflow and part of my muscle memory at this point! But it is compelling to be able to get a always connected device at such a nice price point and I imagine it's only a matter of time before one comes out with a touch screen.

    OK but you didnt mention at all the fact that this CB has a sim card slot and you can get wifi on the go with it. This maybe 4 G but i think they now tout a 5G model. If all of this is true it would make a great travelling machine for medium duty work in the USA and when travelling abroad. Will you take a look at this and let us know how that 4G / 5G works? and do a more complete review of those capabilities that few if any CB's have?

    No one ever cites the hinges...This is the same as my current HP 14 in that the hinge is a long singular type ending about 2" in on either side.. To me that's way better than the 2 individual hinges on the ends with nothing between them... Unless it's just a tricky way of covering 2 standard hinges I think the long single type like yours and mine is allot more rugged..

    The display is the only reasons why I would steer clear from this Chromebook. All around is a great laptop, but you are staring at the screen all time and imagine seeing something in 2021 with Standard HD screen and washed out TN panel with poor viewing angles. As you said, at least put 1080p IPS panel with not so accurate colors or brightness. It would have made a lot of buyers happier. I agree, you can do better for $300 these days. For example, the Lenovo Duet 5 w. OLED display is around $350-$400 and it’s 2-in-1 form-factor. You be the judge

    I bought a 4G model of this chromebook from my carrier for $249. I did not know that the screen was TN, and when I got it home I was honestly shocked by how bad it is. I can't believe that something bearing the galaxy brand name has such a terrible screen. That being said I use it hooked up to a 1080p monitor and I don't have any other problems with it. My last chromebook was the Lenovo duet and this feels much faster. Overall I'm pretty happy with it.

      This. The Samsung CB4+ was 1080p TN, and Acer is great in the mid range, having most 11-13" devices do a decent IPS panel if it's 720p resolution. But to go bottom barrel on both? Oof. Costco has this at $199 right now with 64GB of storage, so that seems more appropriate pricing for as it is.

    You can just about steal these on eBay or on other secondary vendors due to the pathetic reviews this chromebook gets. I picked one up recently for appx $40 bucks second hand. My honest opinion??? It's fine! Yea the screen isn't the best, but it is quick with the intel n4500 chip and the keyboard and track pad are a lot better than on other budget chromebooks. Like this reviewer also noted, the speakers are nice, It's sturdy and works fine. I'm happy.

    Just bought this device. My old HP chromebook one has an expiring UAE but I loved it....though speakers stunk and always needed to add external speakers. It had a great screen for us and it was touch enabled. It was also a solid device. We use it exclusively for youtube and amazon videos and small tasks...will this new one cut the mustard in your opinion? Worried about even opening the box...still returnable. We are old school lived with black and white long after color came out....if that helps answer question. Thanks for a wonderfully presented video...for a change somebody who doesn't stop midstream to start talking to the disruptive pet. Love it!

    Even 64GB of storage isn't enough for my light use of Android and Linux. SDCard Support is seriously spotty. It would be a little better if the spot was more physically secure like a Framework SSD module, instead of popping out when you look at it wrong.

    Less than full HD is an automatic deal breaker for me now, there are $160 chromebooks with full HD panels. And TN is terrible as well. It's just not something they should compromise on at this point, it looks terrible. For $250 you should be able to have full HD IPS and 64GB of storage.

    I reaaaaaaally want this color and build quality in a smaller Sony Vaio P form factor. A slim Chromebook to slip into an inner suit pocket would be very handy for presentations and email. GPD pocket 2 is the closest I can find, but I want this style in a smaller Chromebook. I'm going to post this message on all Samsung Galaxy Chromebook videos in hopes a dev sees it and makes it.

    An IPS display even at 720p would at least be ok, the screen is absolutely horrible. Everything else about this chromebook is decent if not nice. I love the over all design. Really, really nice. But the screen is the biggest let down by far. Let's hope that Samsung fixes this in the future. If they do they will definitely have a winner on their hands.

    Nice to hear a chromebook with decent speakers - most chromebooks are way to quiet. For the price this one looks a decent buy

    Another plastic, low budget book, you'll play with for 3 seconds at Walmart. Until Google slaps Tensor in a homemade machine, trust Metallica, nothing else matters.

    $300 is too much for a TN panel, entry level plastic track pad, tinny speakers (sorry, I agree the spoken word sounds good, But the music sounded awful), only 4 Gb RAM, lack of touchscreen... what I mean to say is, why get this when you can get a much better low end Chromebook experience from Acer or others at this price point, or pay less for a similar device with these specs?
    But thanks for the video, at least I won't be tempted when I see it on sale online 😅

    I bought the windows samsung book go and the screen was unbearable even though it was full HD. I bought the Samsung flex alpha 2 and the screen is AMAZING. I am a samsung fanatic since I got my s21 a year ago. I have galaxy buds+, samsung 2019 tab A, the galaxy book flex alpha 2, and now the watch 4 lol. Next will eventually be a samsung chromebook and better samsung tablet

    I wish manufacturers would stop pushing out these crappy cheap chromebooks - it lessens the experience and gives Chrome OS a bad name. You get what you pay for.
