However, through this powerful message it has woken me up to realise that I was doing wrong for myself through my beliefs in God. 4 years clean and my faith has been restored fully in God realising the way He answers is through yourself spiritually and mentally. You do the work within His power to gain the answers. That’s how i found a way to speak to God that talks back. Haven't been dealing with drugs, I had/still have to learn how to strengthen my mind in order to get rid of an intrusive spiral of thoughts that have felt over me over the past months, causing me a lot of pain, I have found a huge need to get force from elsewhere, to keep me on the right track. It has forced me to look up to God and, at least, read the Bible once and pray on a daily basis. I mean you literally feel that there is no way out, so your first priority might be to reinforce your mind. May God help all of us.

At first I thought this song suggested an anti-religious perspective of prayer but lines such as "she takes a pill" and "she powders her nose" (cocaine) suggest that it centers around drug addiction. Taking drugs to cope with her problems is like praying to a God that won't talk back because she won't find any true relief. I also think the simple fact that the 'God' she's praying to won't 'talk back' means there is a God that does talk back and she's just turning to the wrong one. That's my interpretation :)

I listen to this song open. It hits home. I see some message written by some that are upset by this song, some understanding. I offer my interpretation. She is a girl born into the culture of African ghetto poverty and broken parenting, praying with all heart to relieved of the pains of her life only be unheard by God as she understands him or worse forsaken. Religion tells us that “if we change, then God will love us” but the Bible says that “God’s love changes us”. Also all the misery we see in this world is of our own doing. God created this world perfectly but the day Adam and Eve sinned, the world changed and evil settled in. God is a spirit who cannot do what He wants to do on earth IF HUMANS DO NOT WANT TO WORK WITH HIM. The only way to solve our problems is to follow God’s word. I love Nico & Vinz, their voice and beat is the best out there today. I know they are suppoting their community but I honestly do wish they would broaden their horizons and speak about other races as well. They are so influential I think they could touch every race out there. I'm not black and I absolutely love them and what they stand for. I wish they understood how they break racial boundaries. I'm not sure they understand how good they really are and how many fans they have around the world. I'm also not sure they even care how famous they are and I love them even more because of that. They just do their thing and it's phenomenal.

I listen to this song open. It hits home. I see some message written by some that are upset by this song, some understanding. I offer my interpretation. She is a girl born into the culture of African ghetto poverty and broken parenting, praying with all heart to relieved of the pains of her life only be unheard by God as she understands him or worse forsaken. She numbs her body and mind with cocaine escaping when she can dreaming of being joined to a life and soul saving compainion at the alter as a freed woman from empty prayer and the pain of being abandoned by parent and God as she looses her faith she again numbs her self to cope with her existing truth the only way she can, still praying, still dreaming, waiting for salvation. In environments like tjis it easy to feel unheard, unworthy and forsaken. Easy to ask why does this person and that one live so blessed yet I was born into this, born thrown away to be cut and burned by life feeling rejected at creation by my created. If you feel this song is sin or sacrilegious then you realy need some church time abroad with an open mind and with eye's and ears to see and hear the truth of others. Not specifically as the one you want it to be for others. Break your heart for others and your ears will be open to their words, your eyes open to the way they are forced to adapt and cope.
