For a lot of games the devs have locked the mods so that they can only be downloaded by someone on Steam who owns the game. If you tried to do this and got an error message, that is what is going on.
Tried but not working anonymously logged in, there is no point to log in with an actual account to check if you own the game, if you own the game on Steam you can download the Steam mods without any problem by subscribing...Thank you tough for the effort of making this video but I think you should change the title, especially that the reason most of us here want a solution to download Steam workshop mods owning games from Epic...

FYI, you don't actually need the last website, the numbers after the command are the game ID and then the workshop item ID, the app ID can be found by just going to the workshop, it can be seen in this video as well before he clicks on the mod, and then the item ID is visible when you are on that mod, it's the last part. I am not saying his guide is wrong, if you want to download multiple items it's easier to have 75% of the command ready and just add the item ID, this is still a good place to start. This is from SteamCMD: workshop_download_item : workshop_download_item : download an item using the workshop system

Also keep in mind that Valve is trying to stop this so you may get files that are not readable by the game as mods.

If any of you were having downloading updates error(looping at 0%), or fatal error can't connect to internet; you might consider using VPN, sometimes even turning off the AV(but I don't need to do that for classic windows defender). Steam embargoed usage of steamcmd from several countries. I reckon using Hong Kong, and Netherland works, most likely NA IP will work out, too.
Another issue is you want to make sure you're running it from you C: folder, I initially just had it on my desktop and was having this issue, moved it and it ran fine.

This only works for like 2 or 3 games as far as i am aware. Please update your title/ description to reflect this, if you care about the community as it looks like you do by the concept of the video.
My apologies, it worked fine for me. I had to log in, and i have ownership of the game through steam. This still helps me because i dont have all of the dlc through steam, i have the game and all dlc through.. other means ;) and now i can play with mods on that version. You saved me about 450 AUD
steam workshop is pretty much a layer of drm for mods which is ridiculous, if you own the game from other services or the original physical copies of old games you can't download the mods, it really takes away some freedom for modding games.
yeah that really sucks, especially as in my experience, most of the time, you can not download any mod using this method. Nexus is way better, even though there is a donwload limit if you are free user. Everyone should post their mods here and not contribute to steam's monopoly, especially as they take huge cuts on any game sales, they're definitely not developper friendly.

@@manjirosano6783 After you download the mod you want, the mod is downloaded to a folder within the downloader itself, the path would be steamcmd\steamapps\workshop and inside there are several folders with names, inside one of those folders would be the mod that you have downloaded
I've never tried cod but I wolld guess with cod there will be some sort of blocker due to Activision maybe try signing into your steam account via cmd first
