Got a question for you guys - is prophet (note, not priests but prophets) unique in Judaism (as Testimony of Jesus is called Spirit of Prophecy)? I came from Chinese culture. There were debatable books of prediction ascribed to sages of old, but there was no such thing as "prophet" in our ancient writings. Just curious if "idea of prophet" is unique in abrahamic religions.

The question is that ancient where not knowing when, as James Tabor is well explaining the deal they had to live with, trying to find in human comportment, and in events, that the day was near. That's rubbish. The entire end of the Old Covenant age of Israel was prophecied long before the event. It was prophecied in Daniel in fact. You've got alot to learn about the Bible. An age is covenantal language. Out of the Old Covenant age of Israel and into the New Covenant age of the Church. All fulfilled in 70 AD. Daniel was written before 70 AD. Ha.!

Thank you Professor! I found Isaiah 26:18, which I had been searching for in my memory but for the life of me, couldn't remember where I read it. What a coincidence that you posted this video to point to these chapters. My understanding of this passage is that "Minds of Men" can only "birth" spirits-winds (aka teachings). "Minds of Women", however, can "birth" things greater than "talk talk talk"(=Wind). Biological moms' special bond with their biological children can help little ones form good habits in first years so ingrained into psyche that their slight edge will benefit the children for life (provided that the women are taught how to be good moms; otherwise bad habits of children set up by ignorant moms are equally hard to break).

Professor, you are a treasure of knowledge, and a font of inspiration. I am learning so much, you never lose me and I cannot tire of listening to you. I used to hate such lessons in school for being needlessly verbose, and yet if I had a teacher half as capable as you, I would not want the class to end. You, sir, are a treasure!
All this talk about the “end” and a “new world” is a major incentive for destroying the conditions that are necessary for the continuation of life on Earth. We will bring about our own end. The new beginning will be for the few species that survive our stupidity.

Well we go through new ages all the time in the course of history. Stone age, bronze age,, Greek period, Roman period, rise and fall of empires Dark Age, industrial age, nuclear age, space age. The transitions from one to another often see turmoil. Power shifts occur. That's why the Pope talks about reading the sign of the times.

Well, those Jews living in 66 A.C. should have read the rest of their Bible. Deuteronomy and many passages elsewhere said the Hebrews would be scattered in all the nations of the Gentiles for the ultimate exile--and their land would be left desolate. Then they would be brought back to their land in the latter days (Ezek 36, 37). None of that had happened in 66 A.D. But it did happen in 1948.
Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum says that "nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom" is an idiom that refers to world war.
Bereshit Rabbah states: “If you shall see the kingdoms rising against each other in turn, then give heed and note the footsteps of the Messiah (XLII:4)
He says the sign of the end of the Age is WWI and WWII--both of which had to do with the Holy Land and the restoration of Israel and the Jews to their land. The impact of both wrold wars on the Jews is undeniable. And WWII is a continuation of WWI.
This generation shall not pass is the generation that sees the Abomination of Desolation in the middle of the 70th week of Daniel, which is yet future.
THE GREATEST PROPHECY NEVER TOLD
God said He would strive with man but 120 Jubilee year cycles or 6000 years. He disannulled His Genesis 6:3 promise in 722 BCE so to HONOR His word of Leviticus 25:10 that ALL 12 tribes must be in the land for a “Year of Jubilee” to be proclaimed.
In 722 BCE He used Assyria to send the 10 northern tribes into exile cutting off ALL future Jubilee cycles and the then Jubilee cycle 66 off at 27 years that left 23 years in limbo. God is the setter of time and finisher of all things and will leave nothing in “limbo”.
Eight years later in 714 BCE, King Hezekiah had not fathered a son and dishonored God’s oath that through a line of kingship from David, Yeshua would “come forth to Him” and rule over His everlasting kingdom. Micah 5:2-5
God put Hezekiah on his deathbed who fervently prayed all night.
God answered his prayer and turned the shadow of death hung over the King’s head into morning and extended his life 15 years, that were included in the “23 years in limbo” when God, in a miraculous act of creation RETURNED BACKWARDS the path the sun travels 23 years. Isaiah 38:1-5
Evidence of the 23 years in limbo returning backward and reconnecting, along with God honoring His word from Leviticus 25:10 and His sworn oath to David from Psalm 89:3-4 didn’t manifest themselves UNTIL September 20, 2000.
That day WAS the first day of the 7th month Tishri, that the FIRST of 23 ending years cut-off from the then Jubilee cycle 66, the 'symbolic year' 722 BCE reconnected to the beginning 6000 years.
TIME HAS WAITED FOR NO ONE
On September 26, 2022, the 'symbolic' Jubilee year 700 BCE reconnected, slipping in unawares. It is the LAST of the ending 23 years, cut-off from the then Jubilee cycle 66 that look to count out in less than eight months, when all things end on or about September 24, 2023.
There are two scriptural texts that seem to be pointing to the 23 years counting out on or about September 24, 2023.
The seven months of burying the dead of Gog’s army, Ezekiel 39:11-13, would have to begin on or about February 24, 2023 so to count out on a day when God’s land, His sanctuary is cleansed.
That being Yom Kippur, the day of cleansing, Leviticus 16:29-31, the 10th day of the 7th month Tishri on or about September 24, 2023
God has adjusted the time He will strive with man so to honor His word and keep His oath to David that His ‘Anointed’ would come forth to Him and rule His everlasting Kingdom.
He has made it so simple a child can understand that 6000 + 23 = 6023 years.
Be ye not mockers, the word of God has let me understand that the destruction determined, and the land being cleansed, is a time to REPENT and seek Him who made the seven stars and Orion and turned the shadow of death hung over King Hezekiah’s head into morning. Giving Him the glory, an Ezekiel 33:6 watching one

the End of the Age happened 12 thous and years ago when the 2 mile thick ice sheets covering much of the northern hemisphere were caused to disipate in a geological eye blink - and it was horrendous. The Clovis culture was wiped out and over 22 large mammal species of North and South America went extinct. Has scared humanity ever since.

Elohim, those who believe, have broken into the mortal realm as they are made Holy by the One who is Holy. There is no sorrow for those who enter into the Heavenly places by the blood of the Anointed One. The first age, one in which the veil prevented man from entering into Heaven and the second, one in which the veil has been torn in two as to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord? Prophecy fulfilled, not failed? A return to Day One in which all the spirits were One with the Lord, no more division of separation? A present reality? (Looking forward to part 2!)
But the veil was replaced. It did not stay torn in two and left off the entrance. Things went back to normal after the crucifixion of Yeshu'a for sedition by Rome.
@@johntiggleman4686 The temple/tent was only a shadow of a greater reality found in the Heavenly realm. My channel argues that the veil was only symbolic of the separation. Once the separation was destroyed, no one could remake it. The Temple no longer held any power, as the Holy Place was in Heavenly Jerusalem, where the Ark of the Covenant now resided.
@@BibleTheoryThe last days Tabor is trying to identify were the last days of the Old Covenantal world/age of Israel or the last days of Torah /the age of Moses. It was fulfilled in 70 AD when the temple was destroyed ("this generation shall not pass" from Matthew). The Old Covenant was known as the ministration of sin and condemnation (or spiritual death). This was the birth of the New Covenant Messianic age of the Church/Ecclesia (or the of age of spiritual life), the heavenly Jerusalem. As Jesus said, "on earth as it is in heaven". The heavenly Jerusalem was going to come down, spiritually speaking, from heaven to be with man. The Old Covenant was equivalent to death, and the New Covenant was equivalent to life, spiritually speaking.
Prophecy is based on an understanding of the plan portrayed in the crucifixion. Christ's work of the salvation of the cornerstone began as the first Adam. The sacrifice is the first coming and is represented in the fiery sword in the garden of Eden, Noah treading the winepress, the burning brazier, the pillar of fire, the siege of Jericho, and the flashing sword sharpened for the day of vengeance AS judgment, among others. Isaiah 4 tells us that the column of smoke and pillar of fire will be created after a fiery judgment.
There are three main components to the bible, the sacrifice, as the first coming, then, within the same generation, he returns after death and judgment, so too for Christ, to fulfill the resurrection as the suffering servant and way of the Lord in the desert. The third component is the salvation of the cornerstone, David, the Morning Star, your king, Father, and ruler of this world, who becomes much greater than before, as the Ancient One of Days taking a seat upon a throne on the Mount of Assembly. The Son of Man washes his feet and he subjects himself and his kingdom to the Son of Man. That would be the end of his work. He hand the kingdom over to his God and Father, David; subject himself to the "One", and then he will ascend beyond the heavens themselves. When the icy waters are placed above the dome, they refract the rays of light, and there is no longer night, would be a good candidate. He would have to lay waste the earth, to level the mountains and drain the sea for the waters above the dome of the sky. When? Why would anyone claim they know when the end will be, or listen to them? The bible says no one knows, not even Jesus?
Apply the context of Isaiah 40:3 in relation to Isaiah 40:2, at the end of the ages.
(Sacrifice) Indeed, she has received from the hand of the LORD double for all her sins.
(Resurrection) Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God! (Isa 40:2-3 NABO)
Is God unjust, humanly speaking, to inflict his wrath? Of course not! For how else is God to judge the world? (Rom 3:5-6 NABO)
He then returns from this Holocaust with the sin placed on him to fulfill the just demands of the law according to the spirit.
For, in their unawareness of the righteousness that comes from God and their attempt to establish their own (righteousness), they did not submit to the righteousness of God. (Rom 10:3 NABO)
Jesus has the benefits assured to David - and Jacob:
Then he had a dream: a stairway rested on the ground, with its top reaching to the heavens (Gen 28:12 NABO) Stairway - "to heap up" something, such as dirt for a highway or ramp

You have ended with Jesus being crucified in the flesh. I’ve never seen Isaiah 40:3 put into context with Isaiah 40:2:

Down I went to the roots of the mountains; the bars of the nether world were closing behind me forever (Jon 2:7 NABO)
'Who will go down into the abyss (nether world)?' (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead) (Rom 10:7 NABO)
This sets up the abomination of desolation in him, the temple without one stone left standing upon another. He is 'made to be sin'.
"When you see the desolating abomination spoken of through Daniel (Mat 24:15 NABO) for at that time there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will be. (Mat 24:21 NABO)
It shall be a time unsurpassed in distress since nations began until that time… Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake (Dan 12:1-2 NABO)
In two days you will sanctify the people and on the 3rd Torah will be given!!!!
2. Pet 3:10 (ASV) - But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Sounds very convincing that "the end of the world" is not a bad KJV translation as you describe it. The ASV and many other versions say the same thing, does it not?
Or how about Revelation 21:1 (NIV) - Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

Are there any *successful* prophecies in the bible, either OT or NT?
1. Nation will rise against nation, the good news will be preached throughout the Earth.
2. This message of salvation will be preached to the nation's....they will certainly listen to it.
My channel argues there are no unsuccessful prophecies.

One nation rising against another nation is in no way unusual. That's been going on ever since nations came into existence, hasn't it? So, it may be a true prophecy, but it's something that anyone at any time could say and be right about.
Your other examples, "The good news will be preached throughout the earth" and "The message of salvation will be preached to the nations," are two ways of saying the same thing. And, yes, it's true that Christian missionaries have preached all over the place, but that "fulfillment" of prophecy was under their own control, if you see what I mean. I can predict tonight that tomorrow I will finally finish installing my new hot-water heater. Whether that prediction comes true or not is entirely up to me. If it actually does come true, that doesn't make me a prophet.
Whether the nations have "certainly listened" to the teachings of Jesus is debatable. They may have heard them, but I don't think they listened very closely.

Beast coming out of the sea, according to Revelations, but also Daniel Chapter 7 as the Fourth Beast. You can find several videos pointing the Roman Catholic Church as that Beast.
But some key points, for the sake of brevity:
-The Beast changes laws
-Changes times
-Wars against the saints
-Suffers a deadly head wound
-Emerges after the supplanting of three powers
and there are several distinct features that bear many coincidental characteristics, such as the seven heads being seven hills that the city of Rome is set upon. Presiding over many nations, peoples, and tongues. Teeth of iron(Roman arms and armor). Chimerism(adoption of practices from all prior empires ranging from magic, law, philosophy, etc.)
RCC(Roman Catholic Church)
-10 commandments reduced to 9
-Gregorian Calendar instituted(unable to keep the holy days)
-Pope calls himself the "Vicar of Christ" - which can be considered blasphemy
-From 538 AD(When Belisarius and the Eastern Roman army finally arrived in Rome) to 1798 AD(When the Papal Guard are defeated and the pope is taken hostage[mortal head wound] and dies a year later in captivity) the RCC killed some estimate of 100,000,000 Christians during those 1260 years(time, times and half a time, or in other words, 42 months).
As the RCC rose, 3 barbarian tribes were wiped out(Arian Christians), which can be construed as the 3 horns being uprooted; chiefly the tribes in Libya(Carthage) and southern and northern Italy.

I would like to denote 3 different earth ages which correlate to three different heavens. Which you can find in scripture from the very opening passage of Genesis.
Bereshit - Genesis - Chapter 1
1 In the beginning of God's creation of the heavens and the earth.
Here is my understanding of the ages
1 theocracy, first form of ruling over people, religion, believe
2 kings, second form of ruling over people, power and money
3 emperors, third form of ruling over people, inherit power and money
4 republic, fourth form of ruling over people, with elected leaders
5 democracy, fifth for of ruling over people, with elected leaders and laws
6 dictatorship, sixth form of ruling over people, ruling with just laws
7 totalitarian, seventh for of ruling over people, ruling with just money
One this fails, goes to destruction, then those who lived by the ten commandments of God will be resurrected into the next earth as its written in Revelation chapter 21
The common denominator for all those to fail is theocracy or religion or the beast from revelation, the harlot!
The mark of the beast between their eyes and the right hand is the cross the roman catholics do!
Democracy can be explained in a few words: Mob Rule. Like two wolves and one sheep voting on what to eat. Democracy is a danger.

What about the words of Yeshu'a (paraphrased) many of you here will still be alive when I return? If we take that literally, then the Second Coming already happened. Otherwise, why say what he did? Parable? Obfuscation for some reason? And there are so many things regarding the messiah in the book "Zealot" by Reza Aslan; the Messianic Secret; the Son of Man (Yeshu'a hardly used the phrase "Son of God" [David was called the (or a) Son of God]).

@@johnmichaelson9173 Yes, I highly recommend it. It is mostly about finding the "historical" Jesus, but he delves into all kinds of things: Miracles, the virgin birth, the "Good Friday" story and the crucifixion. I've read it at least 8 times. Yeshu'a was no "Gentle Jesus, Meek and Mild."

I take his statement “some of you will not taste death”, meaning that some of those listening to him speak would witness the coming of the Christ in their lifetime. He equates and merges this with the destruction of the temple that he predicts in the Synoptic gospels. However, no one saw the “son of man” or the Christ come as Jesus predicted. It never happened 😢
