Baby Revisits The Weird Toy, Veggie Pad Thai & Literally Watching Plants Grow! | Home Vlog

- In today's Homethy Vlogward we get to see a really cool time lapse of the veggies and herbs growing in our Aerogarden, we couldn't believe how much they actually grew and moved!! Tim asks some more hard hitting questions like, are there any birds who are afraid of heights? What do you think? Let us know in the comments down below! We also get to see Jackson do some more tummy time and he's just getting stronger and stronger, he'll definitely be crawling soon! We found out that there will be new Harry Potter LEGO sets out soon, which is exciting! Then we put a puzzle out on our game table, we can't wait to start this one, it looks awesome! We also show Jackson the elephant toy again, he seemed to really like it this time! We can't wait until he actually plays peek-a-boo with it one day! Then we had some fun baby playtime on front of the mirror, he loves looking at himself in the mirror, it's really funny to watch him. For dinner we made some Veggie Pad Thai, I really liked it but Tim just thought it was okay. I'll link the recipe down below if you want to try it, but I do think you need to double up on the sauce if you make it. Then we get started on the filming room decorating by going through the artwork that was mailed in from you guys! So we take a look at some of the things you've made, created and sent in. Thank you for all of the amazing gifts! (The mailbox is closed currently.) We can't wait to display them around the house and in the filming room for sure! A note about recycling: aluminum cans are 100% recyclable, meaning one can is recycled into a whole new can with no waste. Not all plastic actually gets recycled. So don’t feel bad about using cans, as long as you recycle. 🙂

You guys please be careful with the “sales guy”... make sure and be vigilant that it’s not squatters trying to see if the house is vacant or robbers. There might be a lot of vacation homes empty around Central Florida due to the lack of travel and people up to no good. Just please be cautious and maybe mention something to your neighbors or the HOA if you have one. Love you guys! ❤️

Recycling the cans is far better for the environment than any plastic bottles!
Judy Igielinski exactly what I was thinking. Aluminum cans are the easiest and least resource intensive containers to recycle. Way less environmental burden recycling 3 or 6 cans rather than a 1 or 2 liter plastic bottle.

Jen and Tim, when baking cakes or cupcakes that you do not want to eat all in one shot - try this. > Once they are baked and somewhat cooled, wrap them in cling film individually and put them in a ziptop freezer bag. Put them in there so the bag can lay flat until they are frozen. Also - after making your frosting, left over frosting can be portioned in zippies and frozen flat as well. When you have a hankering for a cupcake (or two) pull the cuppies and little bag of frosting. Leave them wrapped while they come to room temperature. Unwrap them, knead your baggy of frosting to make sure it is happy, snip corner of frosting zippy and use that to pipe it on. If you want a fancy tip, insert the ziptop into your piping bag with the tip after snipping the corner - just line up the cut corner with your tip coupler. This is a trick that folks (us bakers too) use all the time. Helps with portion control. Believe it or not, putting cakes/cupcakes into refrigerators just pulls the moisture right out of them. Dries them out and makes them less tasty. Freezing them right after baking and wrapping traps in the moisture. Just leave them wrapped while they defrost. And I agree, frosting made ahead of time is the best. Trust me on these tips - I have baked for a zillion years and could give you so many tips. But - I will spare you. lol I adore you two and I find myself just smiling when seeing Jackson and how happy he is. I am a boy mommy (just one) and this takes me back to when he was little. Thanks for bringing some sunshine into our lives.

How cool to see the time lapse of plant growth. It looks like the plants bend down to “sleep” and then wake up, then do that bending down again. Can you tell I’ve been inside too long lol?!?! Enjoy watching y’all!

When do babies crawl for the first time?
Studies suggest that approximately 50% of babies begin crawling by 8 months. But others may not crawl until after 11 months, if ever.
If your baby doesn't crawl, does that mean something is wrong? No. It's perfectly normal for babies to skip crawling altogether.
My son never really crawled. He scooted on his bum. He’s now walking and running no issues. Every baby is different

Just so you know, aluminum cans are much better for the environment because they actually get recycled. They can get melted down completely and turned into something new. The plastic bottle on the other hand, are most often not totally recycled and often just end up in a landfill. Always choose aluminum when you can over plastic! ☺️

Hey Tim and Jen, we love soda water too so we ended up buying a Sodastream, it was the best thing we ever did. The cartridge last so long and you can just add whatever flavour you want.
That singing elephant plush is so cute and Jackson’s reaction was adorable!!☺️ I keep buying junk food too, I think we find comfort eating the food we really like...that’s quarantine baby!!
Have you ever thought about getting Jackson a subscription box? There are several that ship out every 2-3 months. They come with a couple of toys age specific and tips, tricks and advise for you. Lovevery and Kiwico are two that TH-camr mom's seem to love. Instead of just buying abunch of random toys hoping Jackson will like them and that they will work.

When you know the cookies are there, you just have to eat them. But they probably just skimp and use the cheapest ingredients and they probably have preservatives and aren’t made with love, which is the secret ingredient.

Have you guys tried a doorway jumper for Jackson? My baby (Asa) is 8 months old and he has been loving his doorway jumper for the past few months. When he was smaller, we would tuck a rolled up blanket in around his waist. But it's fun and could be helpful during livestreams!
Interesting info about babies and mirrors. Decades ago, a study was done about baby self recognition. A color mark was put on baby’s for head. Under a year old, almost all babies reach out to the “other baby“. One year and older, babies reach to their own forehead, recognizing that it’s themself.

I love your videos. I'm quarantined alone, although I am so fortunate to be a teacher who gets to Zoom lessons with my kinders several times throughout the day. Your little guy is so beautiful, and puts a smile on my face every time I see him. He was so cute with the mirror and the elephant.
Good luck with your gallery wall. I rearranged my gallery wall in my "Disney den" and have a couple pictures hung crooked and I took a nice size piece of dry wall off the wall when I removed a 3M hanger at an angle. GRRRRRR All my pictures are prints Disney World locations.

Another fun video..Can’t wait to see all the art work. Just FYI.. Walmart told me we could order paper towels but when i got my order they were out of stock so i didn’t get them. So far i have had to go out to get those items.. if I’m lucky. It is getting easier now and even saw some at target on Monday. Loved seeing him play with that cute elephant☺️🐘🐘🐘

I understand why people are saying this but I think he sleeps ALOT now that he is older. It’s not like he’s whimpering at their feet and they’re ignoring him and not playing with him
The Robot Restaurant in Tokyo was a fantastic experience! We got discounted tickets on Klook and the first show of the day (4pm, I believe) was even cheaper than the nighttime ones. We had some drinks and some popcorn during the show, then went to a nearby izakaya for actual dinner afterwards.
A suggestion: We love our SodaStream. Saves cans/ bottles. Make your own soda water.

Actually about the Pad Thai. Non of those ingredients are actually in Pad Thai. Seems like it would be weird. Fish sauce, tamarind, palm sugar is the base of traditional Pad Thai. But this is a veggie version but it does sound bad hope it good.
You need to stay with your nap and sleep schedule, routine is very important no matter what. It will get better 😊

As soon as you said "Tomorrow is Jackson's 5 month milestone," I was like, "Woah, it seems as if he just had his 4 month birthday!" That's crazy! I absolutely loved watching him with his elephant. He's at that age where he realizes things are funny, and it's so cute.

A door-to-door salesperson was weird even before COVID-19!
I think he's getting really close to starting foods. I know they say wait until 6 months, but we had big boys and started foods at 4 months. Adding that to the milk and cereal was a game changer in getting our boys to sleep for an extended amount of time. Especially if he's showing so many signs of wanting to eat what you're eating.
With the rice noodles the best approach is to boil the water, add the noodles, turn the heat off, and cover it for a few minutes.

Jackson is so sweet!! He is a big baby becoming more independent with his movements. He might sleep better being in his crib. I know it can be tough to make that move .He just may need more wiggle room.
Love watching old home vlogs! One quick tip, use parchment paper instead of tin foil under your cookies. They will slide right off and stay crispier because you won't lose the crunchy bits on the bottom. You'll never go back! 😊
Break and bake cookies - you either eat the dough raw or make them w friends and eat all the cookies w/in 10 minutes of them being them out of the oven burning you're mouth. Also good use of leftover candy, but chocolates in the middle of cookies in the last few minutes of baking, so good. Also similar to pad thai, you can use ramen and add veges and a simple peanut-soy sauce (mix peanut butter, soy, seasoning packet and a lil bit of water over heat) and its really yummy

You should try putting him on the carpet, instead of the baby mat and see if he scoots better. Those things were so slippery when my kids were little they couldn't scoot on them. Also you dont need to refrigerate cake/cupcakes! It takes a long time for them to go bad! I work in a bakery and our cupcakes have a 9 day shelf life and they aren't refrigerated.

If you make rice noodles again, just boil some water then take the water off the heat and let the noodles sit in the hot water for the 6ish minutes...instead of boiling it like normal noodles. You can even use hot water straight from the tap.
That cookie thing is called HEAD HUNGER. It's all your head Tim. I think about food all day; what should I eat or what shouldn't I eat. I think most people stuck at home are suffering from HEAD HUNGER.
The Trackers just make my boring mornings better, thank you. When I eat bad, I always feel more hungry. Jackson is growing so fast, I think you should put him on the carpet to try to crawl. I do not like place and bake cookies, they dont taste good to me at all

Hi Tim and Jen, and Jackson! Today was so much hanging out with you guys in the premiere! My first premiere today and it was really special to me getting to be a part of that with everyone. Hope you guys are having a good day, today. I love that we got to see another cooking segment in your video and Tim, those cookies sure did look amazing. I'll be making some cookies today too, I definitely have a sweet tooth the way you do. Seeing Jackson playing with the Elephant then when he was totally in awe of it, and when he was looking in the mirror and sitting on Jen's lap those little legs were so strong he was nearly standing up I thought for sure he was going to stand up all the way, and it's so cool to watch him grow and those new milestones he takes everyday he sure is going to be walking and talking really soon, gotta love that. I started my daughters on cereal at 14 weeks and they slept they the night, and all was wonderful!! My two daughters are 25&23 now but they are thriving!!! I was a single mom at 17 who went to high school full time and worked at Dairy Queen 😂🤷🏻♀️
There's a hospital themed restaurant in Las Vegas called Heart Attack Grill. I've never been but I read about it.
When my wife gets your weekly newsletter in her e-mail it still shows your PO Box information and you guys have mentioned it being closed, just wanted to give you a heads up. Kinda weird when it comes to the Nestle cookies. My wife suggests putting the package in the freezer until your ready to use, then when ready, let it come to room temp on counter for a few minutes while you are prepping the cookie sheets and that might take care of the issue. We for the most part always have these break and bakes in our freezer for when we want a few, or when my wife needs to make a quick snack for Fire Auxiliary meetings or spontaneous get togethers. Of course the homemade are good too; especially if you use margarine in stead of stick butter, it makes it creamer.
Yes Tim, when I indulge in eating food and goodies, I do get hungrier. I find myself snacking more. So then I cut back, it’s hard but you have to stick with it! ❤️❤️❤️

Agree with those. Cans are better for recycling. Plastic bottles often end up in waste. But you could also get a soda stream, we love ours and use the recycle program to return our old gas canisters and get a discount on new gas canisters.
It is called stress eating Tim😁. Also I normally just put the noodles in hot water not boiling water. Enjoyed watching you guys and watching Jackson growing up.💕

That is awesome that you did the AT for 2 weeks. I live in GA and it has been my dream to hike it. My husband and I did 3 days last year during Memorial Day weekend. We want to do more this May but it is closed due to the virus.

You can pinch the top of that basil for a bigger bushier plant! Cut it right above a set of leaves.
