The path to unchecked power (tyranny) requires the dismantling of human rights. We had a Human Rights Bill in New Zealand, which showed itself to be toothless and pointless when all the Govt had to do was declare an emergency...followed by another (climate), followed by another. Expect endless 'emergencies' to justify abuse of power and strip citizens of democratic rights.

Right on , its because we are tied in to the ECHR that our country cannot deport criminals back to their country of origion, and thousands of illegal migrants back to France. Its a full on business for lefty lawyer's invoking ridiculous human rights laws for blatant law breakers and most galling paid for by funds given to certain charities and our hard earned tax pounds. The sooner we break the chains of this Eu scam the better and safer our country will become.

Do we have the human right to breed like rabbits and then demand that the people of other countries, who have reproduced responsibly, rescue our big families from the conflict that we have ourselves created, by our selfish, greedy over reproduction?

I’m not interested in the human rights of a child killer/ peado nor an illegal immigrant that gets housed in a hotel that we are paying for, but saying that, we do need a good and fair system that respects everyone. Not unelected euro based laws. IE: the illegal immigrant should be repatriated humanely / the child killer or peado should face our standard of punishment for the crime. For the rest of us law abiding tax paying people, we pay to have a high standard of life and government should work for us in that context. They do not own or dictate to us.

Before we abolish the human rights act we have to have a bill of rights that is approved of by the people of the UK. Once that is in place then, by all means, sever the tool that the European institutions use to interfere with UK law. Law abiding legal citizens have to have more rights than criminals and anyone who uses furtive means to enter the UK without documentation.

@@petew5289 The 1689 English Bill of Rights is of very limited use today. The main thrust of the parchment relates to Parliamentary privilege, the rules concerning free elections, the rights of petition and the conduct of judicial courts. The most important provision listed in the document "freedom from Government interference" has never been observed. Every government has interfered in the lives of the general populations whenever and however it sees fit , without fear of sanction.
