Best place to buy a bearded dragon?

- We get messages every day from people asking for help with dragons from the big box stores, rescues, etc. While we make care videos that we hope are a help to everyone, and not just our customers, we simply do not have the staff to provide one on one care advise to all of the people that need it, and it is not fair to ask a small private business to provide customer service to a huge corporate chain stores customers. The ideo of "customer service" is that it is a service that one provides to their own customers, not their competitors. So let's look at the pros and cons of buying from a corporate store, vs a private owned pet store, vs a reptile rescue, vs private breeders. That way, maybe by making the wisest purchasing decision, you can avoid a problem before it happens.
We give you the info and you make the choice.
Here is what we think about the issue of where to look for a quality dragon, or any other pet for that matter.

I
I am interested in breeding my bearded dragon and I would like to know how to do this successfully
That Skit! That is true in any business, time wasters asking for additional pics and then not buying a thing. Asking 100 questions and then the "ok I'll get back to ya..." but never does. Some people just have no life so they don't mind wasting other peoples time.
My area is really blessed cause the 2 specialty reptile shops I know which sell, bearded dragons at least, both breed them themselves and are cheaper than big box stores. I got my bearded dragon at a local reptile show from a private breeder. Once again I paid way less than a big box store.
I work at a Big Box pet store but at one that just carries supplies. When I go out wearing my work shirt after work I get so many questions about Bearded Dragon care. One person I talked to was a new beardie owner who got it from one of my neighboring stores and he knew absolutely nothing about the care of a beardie. I was so upset about that and proceeded to tell him how to care for a bearded dragon off the clock. Dang they should pay me extra lol it’s so upsetting how these stores will sell these guests animals and not teach them how to take care of them or at least recommend some TH-camrs to follow. I always recommend either this channel, lord elion, or Snake Discovery. I love all of you and y’all have helped me both in my career as a leader at my job and a beardie parent. All of my lizards and I thank you. ❤️
The bloopers!! Ahhhh I just love the bloopers. (And y'all are knowledgeable too;)
Lol! Every reptile breeder in America can relate to that skit.
It amazes me as most pet shops in the UK in the area I'm in won't let you take a bearded dragon home unless you purchase the set up and have it all set to go. I've just got a a 3 year old bearded dragon from someone who wanted to rehome her and luckily I have an amazing reptile shop near me that are very knowledgeable and have been amazing at making sure she has everything she needs x
I just want to say thank you both for what you do!!! I’m a new beastie mom of a 3 year old rescue bear die and have spent a lot of money getting him healthy. You knowledge is amazing and very helpful!! Y’all are much appreciated.
We chose your comment to be featured in one of our videos due to be released this coming Sunday April 23rd.
I love your videos! My oldest son has been asking for a bearded dragon ever since we moved to Yuma, Az 1 year ago. I’ve been doing research for a long time and your videos are so knowledgeable! I’m getting excited to start the process!
yes That is awesome!
i got my guy from a chain store... he is super healthy and happy. eats superworms and all types of veggies :D . love him
You got lucky. I bought 3 dragons from Petsmart and all 3 died within a month. Bought one from CBC and I still have him to this day. That was 3 years ago. Never again will I buy from a chain store.
Just adopted a mature (10 years +) male Bearded Dragon. We are so grateful for your TH-cam videos to educate ourselves about how to give him the best possible life. He is sweet and gentle. We are very happy to love him. We just want to ask how to order supplies specifically a thermometer for his habitat. We trust your advise and would trust what you offer.
I just ordered a bay from the site. gathering the cage etc and excited for my new pet. I have outdoor living Sulcatta; 130 or so lbs, so this will be my first indoor reptile. I loved the videos your site showed and that's why I am diving in.
your company is great. Thanks for the education.
That is awesome!
You and your daughter are ABSOLUTELY AWSOME, I'm thinking about getting a bearded dragon and you guys have covered all bases. I'm wondering if you sell to the public and have a place to come to so I can actually see what you have and purchase what I need
Great video Guy's
Have a happy and safe Christmas
Thanks so much, same to you! :)
Thanks for the great video
Our pleasure!
I work at a big box pet store. I got my first beardie actually where I work before I worked there. The other day one of the managers said that there was a beardie that came in with MBD and it was up for adoption. I said I'll adopt it no hesitation. I had extra things for it. I got home and noticed she also has tail rot. I've had her since Friday and she's so spoiled already.
I have a 5 year old bearded dragon I acquired from someone who could no longer take care of him. Could you please do a video about taking care of an older dragon?
How long does it take for you guys to ship a dragon
Also, big box stores sell in-bred dragons.
So, we took home a bearded dragon from a friend who didn't have time for him. His name is Nozdormu (Noz for short). Well we woke up this morning, and he was digging around his enclosure. My wife found a little waste and went in to clean it up as it was on one of the ceramic tiles we have in there. When she pulled some items from the enclosure she found... eggs. So Noz is a she... and we did some quick research about the eggs. WE have another younger beardy but they have not been in contact so it startled us at first. What a way to start 2022 lol.
I love your content here and was wondering if you could make a video about this sort of thing. Any recommendations for folks that don't intend to breed them? Keep doing great work!
That's a great idea.
Thank you for making this video 🥰🥰🥰 I love watching y’all ! 🫶🏼 from SUMTER,SC
Thanks for watching! We loved goin to SC for the Columbia show!
Great video!
We appreciate it!

I'm really curious about how the little critter is shipped considering the condition of many packages I receive from FedEx and UPS... the boxes are often beat to a pulp. I can't imagine what a baby Dragon would encounter. Cheers and Merry Christmas 2022!
i love you guys!!!
Well. Thank ya very much!
Off topic but I had a quick question. I received a bearded dragon from a friend that found it outside his house. We live in Louisiana so I know he must've been someone's pet. Anyway I've had him for 3 weeks now and every few hours I have to clean his eyes/ put eye drop in. If I don't they stay closed and get "crusty" (won't open at all) so every morning when I wake up I see him just sitting in a corner until I fix his eyes then he wonders around. Is there a reason this is happening or is there a fix? I'd also add that he looks a few years old but he hardly ever eats. Maybe 2-3 mealworms a day.
Hey guys I'm researching stuff about about beardies and i am interested in getting one. I will have the terrarium ready before I get said dragon. My question is when will you guys have some males ready?!?
Great video an informative an funny. Me personally would never buy from a Big Box Store the dragons look so horrible breaks my heart. My 3 all come from breeders an never a problem 🙂🦎🐉🐍
I recently went to buy dubia roaches and mealworms from petsmart and every feeder insect was dead. Do reptile shows also sell feeder insects?
IM SO EARLY
HELLO EVERYONE 🐢
HELLO
Hi Zach!!😊
I'm interested in beginning my journey with a dragon . But my question is . Is it better to get one as a baby or adult size ? I wanna buy one from you guys website I don't trust no one else lol . But I'm confused on the different T7DS numbers on the different dragons you have
The T7D numbers are where the dragon is located in our facility/
T5 for example is Terrariam number 5, and D 2 is Dragon number 2.
It's just a way for us to let you choose the EXACT dragon that you want. I would think an adult is easier as long as you have the cage ready.
I am interested in breeding my bearded dragon how would I go about it I'm going to sell the young for profit
Anna is amazingly gorgeous
I am a professional mover and got a bearded dragon along with the cage leash and food from one of my customers about 4 months ago I've watched several of y'all's videos to find out how to care for him properly and and started trying to taking him out side to get direct sunlight he does not like it when I touch him or hold him and he has bitten me twice while holding him just outside in the sunlight how can I get him to where he'll let me hold him more without him biting me oh and he is a full-grown dragon and I can't put him in a container outside just to sit outside I have very big dogs that would eat him and I don't want to have to get rid of him because he keeps biting me if y'all can help in any way I will appreciate it a lot and yes this is the first bearded dragon I have ever had
Just keep handling him. My Rosa, a rescue, wasn't used to being handled either. Now she asks to be picked up and cuddled. It just takes time and patience. congrats on your new friend.
Hello, do you ever sell/ship sub adult MALE dragons?
Sometimes.
had someone on a bearded dragon facebook group tell me not to feed my beardie any spinach or mealworms because it can kill them......🤦♀
Facebook? lol!
Because THAT is where all the true herpetologists go for advise...
Where every 13 year old with 1 dragon is AN EXPERT!

Can I get a bearded dragon?
Can bearded dragons live off meal worms
yes they are so good
I went to petco to get superworms and calcium powder and at a glance I saw a dead baby bearded dragon ...they took the lizard out thank u guyd
We have seen this far to frequently. Sadly many of them are purchased by a child and their family just before they die and the family usually end up blaming themselves when the dragon was barely hanging on in the store. This is why we never recommend the big box stores for live animals. We do recommend them for supplies and feeders though.
@@ColdBloodCreations all of my bearded dragons came from a reptile dealer never the box stores
God bless
