As many people have pointed out, this is not a vehicle for people with handicaps or mobility issues. Did Tesla give any idea of when they planned to design a vehicle for people with those issues?
I loved the gold, just because it looked nice and it had a cool retro-futurist feel. But Franz explaining it was a high-tech reference to the traditional yellow cab is just brilliant.
Most mall, shopping centre, supermarket car parks are empty when they are closed, and in cities. So easy parking for charging 9pm to 10am following day.
Herbert, I suspect that Tesla will build Robotaxi Supercharger/Parking Hubs statically located throughout each metropolitan area so they are close to the demand sources. These new Supercharger Hubs will consist of mostly wireless charging stations but will also include the new Supercharger 4 stations to service the non-CyberCab vehicles. As Tesla’s Robotaxi becomes ubiquitous, they may have several thousand Robotaxi vehicles in each metropolitan area. They will need to park these vehicles overnight somewhere therefore it is logical to assume the construction of these wireless Supercharger Hubs. Look at the Waymo and Cruise deployments and you will see a designated parking/charging location but WayMo and Cruise have such small fleets operating in small geofenced service areas, their charging and parking requirements are small in comparison to a Tesla deployment of thousands of Robotaxis in each metropolitan area.
I was outside the Park Meadows mall when the Tesla Crew drove the CyberCab into the mall for this weeks display. The person inside the car used a wireless joystick to manually drive the car into the mall. I will predict that ever CyberCab will have an option to be bought with a wireless joystick for low-speed maneuvering of the vehicle...
Thank you for actually seeing the joystick. Lots of rumors to that affect but first time I've seen someone confirm. I think the joystick will be standard for fleet operators simply because they will need to move it around a service area.
@@jeanpierre72I agree it is easier and more foolproof with a controller than with a touchscreen. But they might develop a good software for it for a smartphone
A few months ago, someone asked Franz what design he was most proud of, and he answered somewhat enigmatically that it was a product that had not yet been released. The Cybercab must have been that product.
@BrighterwithHerbert One question if you are in a small town and own these, how will they get cleaned or charged? The bigger cities will have cleaning stations and chargers.
I understand that but for cybercab tesla are saying there will be cleaning stations and wireless charging in bigger cities. Will this also apply to smaller towns? Just after clarity.
@ShawnUrich I understand that but for cybercab tesla are saying there will be cleaning stations and wireless charging in bigger cities. Will this also apply to smaller towns? Just after clarity.
To get into vehicle semantics and terms (shout out to "body in white"), one could actually call the vertical section behind the door in the Cybercab a c-pillar.
Never bet against Tesla, apparently they know exactly what they are doing. I have no reason not to trust those magnificent engineers, where is the competition with something better?
The joystick rumor must be real. You need something to jiggle a little in your garage, swap cars on your charger, park in a spot that doesn’t piss off the neighbor, etc. Imagine how frustrating a voice recognition system could be in those situations.
Tesla selling Cybercab vehicles so others can have their own fleet/business is very smart. First of all, as noted in the video, mass production as soon as possible will be crucial. Economies of scale has been a lever Tesla has mastered. Building 500 vehicles a day versus 1500 is a huge advantage. I have no idea what Tesla is targeting, but if you have a production line producing triple the amount of product each day, that gives you a company a massive advantage. The other major advantage that some outlets seem to understand is if Tesla suddenly has 500,000 more FSD subscribers added each year from this model alone, that creates a massive income that will have a large profit margin. Tesla has so much goin on, trying to develop a Cybercab services division thst would deal with marketing the service, cleaning vehicles, dealing with storage, upkeep, etc, is more headache than Tesla needs to deal with. As a bonus, Tesla might sell service plans for Cybercabs. Not that EVs need much maintenance, but air filter changes and maybe a few other basic mechanical items. As we know, dealerships love selling service plans. It is all about collecting money upfront for years of service. Letting others biy Cybercabs early on will likely mean they will grab most of the markets for this service. Whenever Waymo, Uber, or a Chinese builder, gets to market, Cybercabs will have taken up most of the market. The reason you see Chinese companies trying to spread rapidly right now is because they know when a market is new or rapidly expanding, you want to grab marketshare as fast as possible. Taking marketshare from competitors who already have it is way harder than when no one has it yet.
The wing doors may be an issue as in hitting objects nearby, like another car. Why would they not make it simple and do sliding doors like a van? Maybe too much power to self close?
The whole reason lightning strikes don’t kill the occupants of a car is not due to rubber tires on the road, but rather that the Exes skeleton of the car, conducts electricity since it’s made of metal. I hope someone counts for that with these plastic panels.
Tesla doesn't want to have to build the infrastructure to operate robotaxis, so they can focus on other things. But this reeeeeally feels like something that can benefit from vertical integration, and developing a harmonious ecosystem. I can't imagine they want to go into business with thousands/millions of independent contractors and have their revenue share dependent on the competence of those organizations. I have to imagine Tesla will own the early robotaxis they're operating. Just scale that!

Once the roads are clogged with cars, in many cases it will be faster to take public transport for many trips. I sold everything and bought XAI500K on the dip! Holding until 20B! The best way to get millions during bullrun IMHO!
Oh c'mon man, it will definitely get a steering wheel to work alongside the hub motors and airless tires. Why would Tesla even want this car to be the platform for a mass market meat driven car?
What happens if u have to take over?
remote operator
@CorwinPatrick remote on the phone app and on the dashboard would be good
One aspect of selling to others is distributing the risk - the owners of the vehicles will shoulder most of that burden. Am guessing Tesla will offer insurance along with charging/cleaning services.
THIS is When XAI500K Will Explode! 💰💰💰
XAI500K gonna print green god candles this bull run!!! 🚀🚀🚀
I’m a tesla fan. But not a fan of design though. Still cool though
you mentioned design have you seen the past designs and they sold. future is tomorrow and Tesla is not forcing any one to buy buy from the old guys that gust wanted your money
XAI500K$ is GROUND BREAKING Technology.
