Skip the D-ring and hook directly to the tree strap. Hook should be pointed up in case it comes loose, it will go down. If the cable breaks it doesn't matter which way the hook is facing. that snatch block is for more than making a turn, it also doubles your pulling power.
Sorry this is 4 years late. You should ALWAYS put the tree strap as low on the tree as possible. The cable touching the ground is not "dragging", it is stationary, the vehicle is the thing moving. If you're worried about the cable touching the ground/rocks, place a jacket/ blanket under it. Again, the cable doesn't move.
It's not a d-ring, it's a shackle. And you are correct about letting the winch do all the work and revving the engine to boost the electric power to the winch. If you drive the machine forward as you winch, it'll roll slack into your cable around the drum of the winch which can cause pinching and "bird caging." I certainly appreciate your attention to safety and the small details. Try a synthetic cord, they're much mor playable and easier to deal with. They last longer too. Good video!
Also when useing a clevis make sure to back it off 1/4 turn or so so it doesn't tighten up and make for a bitch to unscrew the reason why is because the force can and will tighten it up
So if you look at the other videos on my channel, you'll see that I had a problem with the radiator getting punctured from little rocks hitting it from the back. This lead to a multi-month epic frustration trying to get a replacement from Polaris. Their customer service is lacking. I then modified it (another video) and after a year, that modification has protected the new radiator and I've had no other issues with it. There is a major recall on my model for a number of fuel-system related changes because some RZRs have had fires. I've been waiting for an appointment and parts for months and there is no forecast date to fix this. Once again, Polaris customer service lacking. But otherwise, it's been solid and reliable. Be sure if you have one and do trail riding that you have a spare tire/wheel and the tools to replace it. I've had 3 flat tires where the sidewall got damaged by partially buried sharp rocks.
You gay man the razer could gave easily gone up that americans never know how to have fun they are all about rules laws and safety you a little momy boy

Instead of using the shackles ! Just choke the strap and it will be longer also you can just put the hook on the loop hole of strap... ;-)
