God bless you young man this is the only way I know how to cook rice and peas. Good presentation my mom would be proud of you ,no sugar in rice and peas
Thanks Nick for informing me of those unique things about Jamaica even though I’m a Jamaican. Always enjoyed watching your videos even the ones that did not turn out as you planned. Much blessings for the upcoming year.
Amen to that no sugarin rice and peas, yes coconut trash and sugar is a thing for us growing ,I’m in my fifties that the way I cook real authentic only I use grater not blender, blessings
My grandmother did it similar but without the scotch bonnet and margerine, we neva use dat, and we cut up the skellion and use thyme as well. That looks tasty though, remind me of Sunday dinnertime
@LuckyLiger-zg7hx true point, everybody have different ways. As long as it come out tasty and nice that's all matters. I wasn't critiquing him, just saying that we did it a different way and it came out just fine as his. Also I like the colour, that's how rice and peas should look
I used to grate the coconut 🥥 and take out some before I squeezed it. Then that with the sugar is more delicious. And, I left the strips of coconut in the shell just to eat. Very good.
I am really impressed with how clean you are. That’s why I subscribed. FYI one of the reasons Jamaican soak the peas is for health reasons. The peas has phytic acid that harmful with stomach. Soaking the peas helps to reduce this.
First time watching you, and I had to subscribed with a big thumbs up! This is the best rice & peas video I have ever seen. This is exactly how I do mine from jasmine rice down to the butter, no sugar. However, you beat me out with the greater coconut, and I do have two coconut trees. Thanks for teaching me that part, and the fluff technique with a more wider fork. This is why we Jamaican are number one in the world. I regret that I never took the time out to watch my late mother from start to finish. She was the old school champion of champions! It was vouch by not just Jamaican, but by American as well.
My first time watching. Love how you made your rice and peas. Makes me long for my homeland. That coconut looked so delicious I would have been munching on it before blending! Thanks for sharing ❤
A great lay out, I could follow your instructions step by step, and i noted that you have followed a traditional method that would deliver the best results and taste, it looks great and with the original organic ingredients I know it tasted great, great job young man your presentation give a world class results great great great job.
