The idea of "fakeness" and a persona being built habitually has probably been my favorite thing to dissect after all this. Taco's deceptive stupidity, Balloon's jerkiness, Knife's change from brute to caring, how much they all intended to do it or not alludes even themselves and it's so wonderful. I also really loved the way Knife and Suitcase faked the drama in order to buy Toilet time. I think it really brings out the whole message of "fake it 'till you make it", which I think is meant to be the ultimate point. Really great stuff.
Also, props to Brian for having Knife say "You weren't even real enough to be fake" and having the restraint to not make Suitcase say "I'll make you eat those words" lmao

That paintbrush crying scene absolutely broke me. I never thought inanimate insanity could make me cry this much. Especially that scene that scene genuinely broke me.
This reminded me of when my bff died. Marie was a friend of mine. We didnt share the same oppinions but we both enjoyed Inanimate Insanity and her wish was to see lightbulb win season 2, but, 2020 came in killing people and, sadly, she was one of them... We would like seeing her winning, but I guess nobody wins...
I like how they used Tissues as an example of how unintentionally horrible MePhone4’s mindset was when making them, he’s probably the most negatively affected by everything (especially if you consider all the symptoms of his sickness that he had listed out) The idea of broken or flawed characters realizing that who they are and what they did was never truly up to their decision is super interesting, and I’m a bit disappointed we don’t see more of the reactions from other characters. Taco especially I feel like should’ve at least had a few lines about her realizing that every wrong doing she did was MePhones fault, and that her relationship with everyone, especially Pickle (and maybe Microphone) were essentially ruined by him, all because he thought it’d be funny to have the stupid funny joke character turn into a twist villain.
I'll give you a few lines. Taco: So... everything I've done... All my wrong doings... my problemed relationship with others, including Pickle and Microphone... were because of YOU?! You turned me into this SICK TWISTED VILLAIN?! WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU! MePhone4: Taco... I didn't set out to turn you into the way you are!

"oh no, I know too much." "See ya, Test Tube." This made me cry, just no fighting it at all, he knew it was inevitable so he didn't fight. This episode was heartbreaking.
32:02 The truth is I think Cobs is one of the worst fathers I've seen in animation, he always saw Mephone4 as a product and never thought about what he felt or lived, he never wanted to have a good time with him, he only used him for his benefit and never valued his effort, as we saw in episode 13. So it is not so far-fetched to think why Mephone4 escaped from his home (Meeple) with his brother (Mepad) from his father (Cobs) and to distract himself he was influenced by what he saw on television , Reality Shows, and wanted to create his own which was a success, Some will say that Mephone4 is to blame for that because he created the contestants, but no one asks why he did it, what motivated him to do it, and it was because his father (Cobs) left him with traumas because never cared or felt anything personal about him. But when his father (Cobs) saw that he stole the ship that MEPHONE CREATED because he forced him to do it and made a show that made him happy, decided to ruin it by influencing it with more cell phones and Meeple products and misinterpreting the concept of "eliminating the contestants", All so that in the end the fantasy and dreams of his son (MEPHONE) were destroyed, now he can do nothing but be disappointed, not take responsibility for his actions, and look for him to go home. Inanimate Insanity was not only an Object Show, it was also the development of a horrible father-son relationship.

A new generation for OSC people, making up new shows, new projects, it’s crazy! Thank you, Adam Katz, Brian Koch, Justin Chapman, and Taylor Grodin. You all brought a tear to my eye with this epic episode. Act 1 & Act 2 have been completed. Act 3 soon? We’ll just have to find out in Act 3 on Inanimate Insanity Season 2, Episode 18! (If there even will be an Eighteenth episode.)
This episode is the definition of: "All good things must come to an end" I think this might be one of my favorite episode in the whole series, mainly because although Mephone4 tried to mask the truth with a fake reality, the reality of the situation is nothing was real and it was all just a figment of a child's imagination. This also makes me think that the meaning behind the ending to this episode was mainly to send the message that every childhood ends, but once it does you have a blank slate to make something new. Anyways I almost cried to all of the deaths, this episode was one of the best things I've seen. I can tell you guys put a lot of work into your lore and story writing (can't forget the voice acting). So I just wanna say, thanks for this wonderful episode and I cannot wait to see how you end this season off.
I’m afraid that this might actually be the season finale with no more parts. But I agree with you so much, MePhone just wanted to retreat from his trauma by making and traumatizing imaginary contestants. It’s really sad. No matter what, you can’t run away from yourself.
This episode made me cry my eyes out at 4:30 in the morning on a school night. I honestly dont think Ive cried this much in a while. Amazing episode. Absolute peak cinema.
It feels weird to let go of something. I’ve watched for a very long time and to see end like this. inanimate insanity was a part of my life and it feels weird to let it go of it.but. I think this is the coldest thing I’ve ever watched i’m going to miss an ii and all my favorite contestants RIP to everybody🕊️🕊️🕊️
It reminds me of when I played plushies and toys with my brother, we made characters and made stories of them. Once you're done they're just a soft pillow and shaped plastic after all. And sometimes you have to let go of something you really care. Time moves on, Nothing lasts forever
If this finale is divided into multiple acts then I would guarantee that there would be one more part to this and it would be over. I will miss this lovely show and series, it has enhanced my childhood and my time in the OSC. At least we still got BFDIA and TPOT still in progress.
Theory: (minor spoilers) The cherries are the ones who are the TRUE leaders of meeple, this may sound absurd at first, but just hear me out. First, let’s look at episode 2, when cherries had the face mask of mepad, they somehow just had it premade before mepads existence was even announced by mephone. Who would have known about mepad, and how mephone escaped with him, other than a main “leader” of meeple? On top of that, in the same episode, cherries just has access to a giant hammer to send marshmallow to space with. Was this generated by MetLife for her? Because mephone definitely didn’t do it for her, since it would get him lawsuits. And, in this episode, cherries had “wants a reaction” written on her. She may have been the one to plan all this to see everyone’s “reaction” a game to her/them. And the reaction mephone gave to her, what if it’s not the real her, just pretended to be her, to see the reaction when it happened. (Ok ok, I know this is just most likely a humongous stretch, but I thought it was interesting lol)
Slightly related: I always felt the cherries deserved better, and what’s written on them when they were deleted is kinda sad If you split it into two parts, for each cherry, then “Wants a” can be interpreted as the left cherry just wanting a friend or to lighten the mood, and “reaction” is referencing how the right cherry is often just pantomiming and lets left cherry speak more, and it suggests they are purely just that
It was because no One was there to Say it, just Mephone, Cobs and probably the prime Shimmers survived (I'm not including contestants like dough bow or bot since they didn't appear at the end, they obviously survived but since the didn't appear i'm not mentioning them)

Inanimate Insanity S2. The ending made me just sit there doing nothing, while actually crying inside and be mentally damaged for a couple of minutes. This maybe the 2nd or 3rd time my reaction has gone like this. I legit think this is more heartbreaking than BFB 30 and ONE 18 combined.

Inanimate insanity came out the day I was born. I've always felt connected to the show because of that, and it's singlehandedly gotten me through so many tough times over the past year and a half. If it really ends here, I just want to say how thankful I am for this show, it's had an impact that I'll never forget. I just know I'm gonna be sobbing by the end.
Honestly, I love the hoplessness of it. The finality. I’m not sure if a happy ending would’ve given this series the justice it deserves. The harshness of the reality of it is still hitting me after watching it. Really a haunting ending, it all makes sense, and I love it. It made me reflect on creating my own characters, giving them flaws, writing what I know, and the idea that if they became sentient and aware of their own creator, that they’d resent you for making them the way they were. Your characters have as much life as you give them. Bravo animationepic
Wow, the show has really improved. From a silly, little competition show to this emotional rollercoaster. Overall, this has to be my favorite object show in the entire OSC.

This has to be the darkest episode in the series alone. I thought ONE was dark, but II is truly something else. This episode/act alone was truly saddening, but I feel the show isn’t over just yet. For a show that started with inanimate objects competing and goofing around to a serious drama, it really met expectations for a lot of people.
The pink phone on the ground is bow’s phone. Bow and Dough are still alive, since they are not connected to melife. Mepad is also still there. The only real plot points left are: What happened to bot, did Steve Cobs have a change of heart, is MePhone gonna restore everything, and What will the prime shimmer think of these events that just unfolded.

The ending really made me feel like Mephones delusions finally crashed down. He faced reality and realized he was stuck right where he was from the very beginning. Under Cobs’ rule.
I’m completely floored right now-this finale was beyond anything i could've imagined. Every moment of the episode felt cinematic, like a full-on movie. At some points it even gave me chills... Cobs telling MePhone4 to return home with him is such a thought provoking scene because the weight of MePhone4's reality hits hard: he has nothing left to return to, no real home. Everything he built is gone, and all he can do is accept what’s left-now that's some seriously professional storytelling.

32:02 The truth is I think Cobs is one of the worst fathers I've seen in animation, he always saw Mephone4 as a product and never thought about what he felt or lived, he never wanted to have a good time with him, he only used him for his benefit and never valued his effort, as we saw in episode 13.
So it is not so far-fetched to think why Mephone4 escaped from his home (Meeple) with his brother (Mepad) from his father (Cobs) and to distract himself he was influenced by what he saw on television , Reality Shows, and wanted to create his own which was a success, Some will say that Mephone4 is to blame for that because he created the contestants, but no one asks why he did it, what motivated him to do it, and it was because his father (Cobs) left him with traumas because never cared or felt anything personal about him.
But when his father (Cobs) saw that he stole the ship that MEPHONE CREATED because he forced him to do it and made a show that made him happy, decided to ruin it by influencing it with more cell phones and Meeple products and misinterpreting the concept of "eliminating the contestants", All so that in the end the fantasy and dreams of his son (MEPHONE) were destroyed, now he can do nothing but be disappointed, not take responsibility for his actions, and look for him to go home.
Inanimate Insanity was not only an Object Show, it was also the development of a horrible father-son relationship.

This episode is the definition of: "All good things must come to an end"
I think this might be one of my favorite episode in the whole series, mainly because although Mephone4 tried to mask the truth with a fake reality, the reality of the situation is nothing was real and it was all just a figment of a child's imagination. This also makes me think that the meaning behind the ending to this episode was mainly to send the message that every childhood ends, but once it does you have a blank slate to make something new. Anyways I almost cried to all of the deaths, this episode was one of the best things I've seen. I can tell you guys put a lot of work into your lore and story writing (can't forget the voice acting). So I just wanna say, thanks for this wonderful episode and I cannot wait to see how you end this season off.

Theory: (minor spoilers)
The cherries are the ones who are the TRUE leaders of meeple, this may sound absurd at first, but just hear me out.
First, let’s look at episode 2, when cherries had the face mask of mepad, they somehow just had it premade before mepads existence was even announced by mephone. Who would have known about mepad, and how mephone escaped with him, other than a main “leader” of meeple?
On top of that, in the same episode, cherries just has access to a giant hammer to send marshmallow to space with. Was this generated by MetLife for her? Because mephone definitely didn’t do it for her, since it would get him lawsuits.
And, in this episode, cherries had “wants a reaction” written on her. She may have been the one to plan all this to see everyone’s “reaction” a game to her/them. And the reaction mephone gave to her, what if it’s not the real her, just pretended to be her, to see the reaction when it happened.
(Ok ok, I know this is just most likely a humongous stretch, but I thought it was interesting lol)
Slightly related: I always felt the cherries deserved better, and what’s written on them when they were deleted is kinda sad
If you split it into two parts, for each cherry, then “Wants a” can be interpreted as the left cherry just wanting a friend or to lighten the mood, and “reaction” is referencing how the right cherry is often just pantomiming and lets left cherry speak more, and it suggests they are purely just that
You know it's serious when they don't say the "adamation!!!!" in the end

Inanimate insanity came out the day I was born. I've always felt connected to the show because of that, and it's singlehandedly gotten me through so many tough times over the past year and a half. If it really ends here, I just want to say how thankful I am for this show, it's had an impact that I'll never forget. I just know I'm gonna be sobbing by the end.

Honestly, I love the hoplessness of it. The finality. I’m not sure if a happy ending would’ve given this series the justice it deserves. The harshness of the reality of it is still hitting me after watching it. Really a haunting ending, it all makes sense, and I love it. It made me reflect on creating my own characters, giving them flaws, writing what I know, and the idea that if they became sentient and aware of their own creator, that they’d resent you for making them the way they were. Your characters have as much life as you give them. Bravo animationepic

This has to be the darkest episode in the series alone. I thought ONE was dark, but II is truly something else. This episode/act alone was truly saddening, but I feel the show isn’t over just yet. For a show that started with inanimate objects competing and goofing around to a serious drama, it really met expectations for a lot of people.
Paintbrushes voice was the equivalent of Liam’s scream before he drowned.
The pink phone on the ground is bow’s phone. Bow and Dough are still alive, since they are not connected to melife. Mepad is also still there. The only real plot points left are: What happened to bot, did Steve Cobs have a change of heart, is MePhone gonna restore everything, and What will the prime shimmer think of these events that just unfolded.

mephone DIDN'T create Mepad, nor Bot, They are both robots, so Mephone X can't affect them in any way. My theory is that Bot, Mepad, MAYBE MEPHONE and the Shimmers will try to go against Meeple.
Edit: SOAP'S PHONE. THE PICTURE SHE TOOK WITH MICROPHONE. AND FAN'S PHONE. THE ONE TEST TUBE MADE AND IT **ISNT** MADE BY MEEPLE. THAT LITERALLY MADE MY JAWS DROP.
Edit 2: Also Fan's theory might too be correct, since Bow ISN'T connected to melife anymore. and since Bot is a robot, and too is NOT made by Mephone nor Steve cobs, I am guessing Bot and Bow will meet each other the next episode !! :3

The ending really made me feel like Mephones delusions finally crashed down. He faced reality and realized he was stuck right where he was from the very beginning. Under Cobs’ rule.
I’m completely floored right now-this finale was beyond anything i could've imagined. Every moment of the episode felt cinematic, like a full-on movie. At some points it even gave me chills...
Cobs telling MePhone4 to return home with him is such a thought provoking scene because the weight of MePhone4's reality hits hard: he has nothing left to return to, no real home. Everything he built is gone, and all he can do is accept what’s left-now that's some seriously professional storytelling.

Seeing paintbrush trying to defend lightbulb, even though lightbulb has already accepted her fate. Followed by lightbulbs death, it was such a depressing scene
Paintbrush’s voice actor did so well with that crying. This episode was incredible

Lightbulb is such a great character I was so sad to see her go out like that but damn that was a really good scene
