    • @JakobHaq
      @JakobHaq  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to say, I haven’t actually published anything like the mellow album previously or before that album. But that’s because, up to the creation of “My Mellow Album” I had never done anything like it. I’ve mostly worked with Reggae, Dub, Drum and Bass, Dubstep type genres most of my life. This “mellow” genre is still developing and I’m sure I’ll make more, but it’ll take time. 😅

    There’s a very good delay in there at size - 10 and using the pre delay synced or manual, and it gets really tasty in antigravity reverse delay at - 9, 8, 7, sounds like Klingons making love.

    Beautiful, and by that I mean, Great tune Jakob! I want to hear more. The Blackhole/harmonized combo kills, I hear how you got your inspiration.
    Tech question, how much processing power is it taking? I’m trying to keep my whole live rig below 50% in AUM on a ‘17 pro ipad, to avoid nasty live surprises.

  • @HotStrange
    @HotStrange 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    All of the Eventide and FabFilter effects for iPad really turn it into an even more fully featured DAW/music production environment. I plan on using all of them to run my hardware synths through. Can the iOS effects compare to something like the H9 hardware pedal? Sounds great thought TH-cam so I’m assuming it does.

    If one could only buy one... Blackhole or FAC Alteza?

    • @JakobHaq
      @JakobHaq  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would not compare them. In my opinion one does not outweigh the other when compared as “reverbs” since one is a special type of reverb effect with an added element to it. Alteza is a “shimmer” reverb-type.
      .
      This means that it has a pitch-shift module built in together with a reverb/delay module. The signal runs through those modules and then back into the same chain again through a feedback loop. It’s how the constantly “up-pitching” (shimmer) reverb tail is being produced. Blackhole on the other hand is a reverb.
      .
      They both have very distinctly unique overall sounds when compared to one another and so I’d recommend you judge with your ears, what you like the most.
      .
      Eventide also makes a shimmer reverb and I’ve reviewed that together with Alteza and all other shimmer type reverbs available on iOS in this video > th-cam.com/video/ZDHHSum53Ac/w-d-xo.html
      .
      When comparing Blackhole to other reverbs, I’d categorise it as a large reverb. It can do many interesting types of reverbs, even reverse types etc. But yeah I’d put Blackhole in the same category as AUFX:Space, EOS2, FDN Reverb, Stratosphere Cloud Reverb etc. These reverbs are great at creating large sounding textures (canyon-like) without producing harsh metallic sounding reverb tails.

    so when i get this i dont need stratosphere or eos or some other reverb app? And i guess it also has this resonance 3d stereo thing, right?

    • @JakobHaq
      @JakobHaq  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d say that those three reverbs all have very distinct characteristics and overall sound. And even though they can all do pretty long and smooth reverb tails, they sound extremely different. I’d say that EOS 2 is one of my most used reverbs, like everyday-reverb. It can do so much. Blackhole reverb is interesting and I use it for everyday stuff to but I tend to do a bit more experimental stuff with it. And Stratosphere is the only one out of the two that gives you an extremely long reverb tail. I use that for atmospheric pads and background sounds all the time. So no, one of them does not replace the others in my opinion.
