    Just purchased a GT3000. With all the specs e.g. safety features, 400 lumes and particularly 100W fast charger, it looks great.

    This is awesome. I just got mine. I was stuck at a store needed a jump and no one would jump me I had the cables but no one all of sudden had time to give me a boost ,this my friend is perfect no more asking

      These really are great. I don’t know how many times I have used mine now.
      For my kids, friends and strangers and more it is awesome. And they are always amazed. Wow what is that thing?
      And then immediately want to buy one after it starts the vehicle

      Make sure to keep it charged. Work it into your monthly routine. If you don’t you may end up with a dead jump starter and a dead car.

    I've had the Gooloo 1500 for years and it's great! Always starts even V8 engines in 20 degree weather. I may get the 4000 just because I like the digital display and to better start diesel engines in bitter cold. NOCO, nah, seen to many fail to start when needed most.

      @@johnnysweekends Funny thing is, on gooloo's website it doesn't show any jump starters with a screen on them and doesn't show the 3000 amp one at all. On Their amazon store page same thing. no 3000 GT and no screens on any jump starters.. Search on Amazon and you can find both 3000 and 4000 with screens at least the picture shows it and it is "sold" by Gooloo and ships from Amazon? weird? Great video! Best video out there on the Gooloo GT3000 / GT4000. I was totally confused by the instructions provided with my GT3000 on how and when to use the boost button. Turns out that I needed to use boost mode because my car's battery was too drained. When I connected the GT3000 to my battery the ready light never came on. I hit the boost button just for the hell of it and the car came to life at that point. I was then able to start the car. I'm very happy with my GT3000. As this video says, this is much easier and safer than using jumper cables.

      @@gunsite45 the GT model doesn't have the boost mode. I believe that and the LCD screen is worth the extra cost. My GP180 that I bought for like 70$ on amazon 5 years ago is still at it. Jump started a vehicle tonight that the jumper cables couldn't. Made me looked like a hero in the situation when those people needed help. Got the unit obviously before anybody knew how good they were.

      @@LoveLikeaHurricane It feels great when you're able to help others with such units. Any idea why the jumper cables didn't work? I bet the person wanted to buy the same unit after that!
      The last time I helped someone they had never seen a unit like it. My unit was a 5 year old RoyPow (no longer made). It has been sitting in the boot of my car for almost a year since it's last charge and started up the guys Mercedes in seconds. The heatwave killed the battery so Ive purchased a GOOLOO GT4000S.

    I wouldn't recommend attempting to run your vehicle without a battery if it's less than 20 years old.. The ecu and other modules can get a little upset.. Alternator voltages can spike too high and fry electronics and some vehicles will cut out automatically.
    I guess you could leave the gooloo connected to move the car in an emergency but I'm not sure if that would get damaged either although it probably has circuitry to combat an intrusive alternator charge

      Connect negative directly to bare metal of the chassis or engine like a bolt. This is how you are supposed to connect normal jumper cables so the final negative connection doesn't spark near a battery as you close the circuit.
      These boosters don't spark as they have intelligent safety circuitry so it's best to connect directly to battery where possible.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is not a battery charger maintainer at all. It’s more of a emergency jump starter and power brick.
      It will jump start several vehicles in seconds and is a great emergency device to have in your vehicle. I always have mine and can jump start a car in seconds and not need my old jumper cables.
      Which is a lot safer. And even someone with no knowledge can easily follow the directions on this device.

      Right, the jump packs are designed for short term use (4 seconds of high load, and 30 seconds of lower load - with auto-shutoff). Possible? Probably. But unless you know how to put this into low-current mode (as shown in the video) and wire it’s 12V/10A output port to feed the car’s circuit, attempting a memory-saving setup would be a risky move. There are easier memory savers out there.

    BIG mistake telling people to disconnect the battery with engine running ! This has a high probability of burning out expensive parts such as computers and other modules. Besides, you most likely won't even be able to accelerate if you can keep it running in gear. Back in the day this was a hillbilly way to test an alternator but even then you needed a battery to excite the alternator and to regulate the output. What happens when the engine keeps running when the battery is disconnected is the alternator puts out some current because of residual magnetism in the rotor but when the engine requires more current the alternator can't produce because there is no battery to increase the magnetism of the rotor. The battery also acts like a capacitor, or shock absorber as some will say to absorb critical voltage spikes and cover voltage dips when a high load kicks on which draws current and voltage from other areas and the alternator hasn't responded fast enough because they are just slow about that and when it does finally respond it can respond too much and that's when the battery helps absorb the surge.

    • @johnnysweekends

      Hence the reason I said only in a emergency you may be able to do this.

    • @rob3071
      @rob3071 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only "emergency" situation I can see someone attempting this is if you have no cell coverage and you're in the middle of no where. Gary is right. Attempting this can cause all sorts of damage to the vehicles components and computers. An even bigger concern though (if someone followed this advice) is now you have your battery cables flopping around while you are driving so they can arc and possibly start a fire. Unless it's a nice threatening situation, don't listen to Johnny, just call a tow truck.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Again only in a emergency. You ever have no cell service? Or call a tow truck and they are over 6 hrs out..?
      Sometimes I’ll do what I need to get to somewhere safe or family to safety.
      That’s more important then my car and more then likely popping fuses or relays.
      Again only in a true emergency

    • @jerryberkel8421

      It is perfectly fine to do this. The car manufacturers have taken all of this into account (it isn't like they forgot how to incorporate old technology into new)
