Great to see Tangmere back in action Richard. Thanks for being there to see it. My heart always skips a beat when I see them loading up with coal. It wouldn't take too much of a miscalculation to clip the tender with one of those buckets.
When she was reversing ready to be loaded with coal I thought the 'beep beep' reverse had been fitted to Tangmere!! Great to see her in action again and thanks for sharing. Al.
Tender looks in good nick, the rest looks rather 1960s British Railways 'ish condition 😧, pretty shabby, very nostalgic! No doubt after her comeback trials she'll be shedded where they can spend some time on her external condition and get her back to full fitness. Good to see her back. 👏
The tender of Tangmere was loaned out to 34092 City of Wells on the east lancs 2 years ago for a short while as 34092's own tender was getting repaired.
She looks as good as New Tangmere does I know for a fact she is staying up North for awhile to help with the Northern Belle Trains but as you mentioned its up to David Smith what he wants to do
I hope Tangmere won't be pushed to her limit this time, I'll bet she's secretly worried about it. Somehow, she looks rather plain without her nameplates. A newcomer might have mistaken her for one of her Spam Can sisters. Tornado gave you a great shot, an unexpected birthday present. You can't wrap a real steamy in wrapping paper, but you can wrap up a model version.😂🙃
I happen to Agree with you but Four Bulleids are at Carnforth British India Line, Tangmere, Bodmin and 249 Squadron, any engine would do to get the job done
Great to see tangmere making a magnificent return to the mainline
The Volcano & Tornado... perfect!

Thanks for another excellent presentation.

With the recent exit of union of south Africa it's great having another steam loco return to service
Nigel Gresley back very soon to,with LSL. Quite a few main line locos set to return with various owners.
Very enjoyable video .
Great shots Richard, good to see Tangmere back and Tornado going great guns 👍Thanks for the updates on Wednesday 👍
Anytime Stephen.

Beat me to it, authentic July 1967 look!
Its cab doesn't look that bad eather
Getting the full fettling treatment so she'll look like new.
Good work Richard, nice to see Tangmere return and great shots of Tornado. 👍

I think Carnforth need to fit another steam locomotive with Air brakes
@@jameshardy4354 Tangmere is air brake fitted
@@jeffsymons4535 yes I know but they need more than one really with Air brakes
I wonder how much of her Is original from the day she was built
Just the main frames my friend and even they will have been partially replaced. I offer this in the spirit of renewal =)
Very nice video Richard :)
Looks like her exhaust has been modified..... is that a Giesel ejector ???
seeing the rest of the film clip no its not....
It's good to see her again..... Any catch up on 44767 and 44932?
44932 must be close been under overhaul a long time 44767 is still stored in pieces

I hope she stays at carnforth and no go to southall
It all depends what David Smith's wants to do. At the end of the day he makes the final call.
Are you kidding? There is a distinct lack of locos at Southall, Carnforth has plenty of locos one of them being a bulleid already!

@@TERRYBARTLETTRAILMAN28 I dont think 249 squadron will steam again I think its boiler is now on Tangmere
@@harnettyrailways I think it will get used on the Northern Belle next year becuse lizzy is out of action and Tornado will be under overhaul
