This is the first time I've been surprised by everything on your list. I normally know two or three of the games you highlight, but this one really took me by surprise. Nice finds There's a lot of potential all over the list, but the three that really caught my attention were the trio of games in the middle: Mark of the Deep, MOMIBOSU, and NecroArcher. Those are all going on my Steam wishlist.

I have to agree :/ If anything, it reminds me of Hollow Knight even more than Lotus Knight due to the color palette, art, environment and movement. I truly hope they manage to differentiate themselves from HK somehow.
Oh my god, I had completely forgotten about this game! I just googled it out of curiosity and got hit with massive waves of nostalgia! I think I had played it first at an arcade at some point!
@soulsborneseeker Yeah, it was fun and addictive despite it's length and simplicity. The soundtrack also still pops into my head randomly from time-to-time. Wonder if it was an inspiration for Demon Legend. The metroidvania aspect was a great idea for this environment. Looking forward to see where it evolves!
Wishlisting Phosphi and The Abandoned Place (both have demos, :) ), as well as Mark of the Deep Been following Plead with the Elder Gods for a while, the game is giving me so many Soul Reaver vibes.

Yeah. The isometric perspective done right is a blast to play. Darksiders Genesis is on my 2024 must-play list. I haven't played it yet. Lol. I know I am late to the party@@soulsborneseeker
Demon legend is too retro for me Deviator looks AMAZING, toxic HK elitists will call it a ripoff i'd call it more metroidvania goodness! Super hyped for this one ever since i discovered it through Demajen a few days ago :) Eldritchvania looks a bit sluggish but it's free so no reason to not check it out. I hope it's a minitroidvania becuz games like that are often better if they're short (ex vitro, angel's gear, xenosis) Halchemist looks too much like a precision platformer. I love platforming but precision platforming drives me mad haha, there's a reason i haven't played celeste yet :P Knew about light of atlantis for a while now, it looks incredible and is among the MV's i look most forward to! Mark of the deep looks utterly amazing, even though it's isometric. It reminds me of death's door, one of my absolute favorite games! Wishlisted! Momibosu again too retro and also precision platforming haha Necroarcher looks a bit too derpy for me but would possibly watch a LP Nightmare materials looks a bit too basic :/ Phosfi looks amazing, wishlisted! Plead with the elder gods reminds me of PS1 era gaming but since it's 3D it's not for me The abandonned pressence looks like a cheap version of FIST forged in shadow torch but that game was so good that i'm still interested in games that are similar The tale of Lumi reminds me of faerie afterlight, which i loved so this goes straight to the wishlist! VELM is an instant wishlist as soon as you said inspired by mayan folklore! I LOVE everything aztec, inca and mayan and i find it criminally underrepresented. Same for egyptian folklore! Whirlwind magician looks too retro but the hat mechanics have picqued my interest so onto the wishlist it goes! Another great list but with you supplying so many games i don't think i'll ever be without backlog haha!
Demon Legend More like a regular platformer, but not a metroidvania. Somehow there are a lot of enemies and it's a bit chaotic when you play as a character, a girl.
@@soulsborneseekerMaybe it only looks that way because the game is still in development. It's not even a full-fledged trailer. As a platformer, it doesn't look bad, but as a metroidvania it's questionable. Maybe a lot will change by the release.
@@endrgar Thanks for checking our demo out! Yeah we are really early in dev still so things are still coming together. There will be more metroidvania elements implemented as we get more areas done and hooked up and links between them made, though we still mostly plan on being a "metroidvania lite" and minimizing the backtracking necessity to actually complete the game.
Well, given that the games on this list come from small indie developers, they usually start with PC first and then expand on consoles if their games become successful. Part of the reason I create these videos is to raise as much awareness for these titles as possible, and give them more chances to find their audience and then, hopefully, make the jump to consoles!

It would be better to not know about some of the bottoms at all. Now I won't be able to sleep. On the other hand there must be games so bad that some of them seem really good.

I didnt expect to see a game that looked so much like La Mulana, Eldritchvania looks interesting though.

The first game reminds me a lot on one of my favorite childhood SNES games called Legend of Cage. Nice nostalgic trip.

Plead with the Elder Gods is a standout for me as well, it reminds me of some incredible games I played during the PS1 era!
