Ronaldinho is/was the most gifted Footballer of all Time. If you were alive and could see it starting from Maradona, Pele, Cryuff, Baggio, Pirlo, Iniesta, Robben, Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, just to name a few, no one could do it with such ease, fun and joy as Ronaldinho did.
And one really special thing I wanna point out is that Ronaldinho did not fall every single time a blade of grass was out of place and touched him like 90% of the others do/did.
Even after a foul worthy tackle, stumbling and out of balance, he kept on running & playing.
The pure joy of football and a real reason to hate alcohol.
    Greetings from Austria

The clip of him keeping it on his head was actually from a warm-up, but yes, it is allowed during a match. You can touch the ball with any part of the body except fingers, up the arm up to just below the shoulders.
Also, the indoor footage, that form of football is called Fut Sal. 4 vs 4. He's been playing competitively since he was a child. Due to the small play area, the style of play requires impeccable ball control and trickery to be able to keep possession, pass to teammates, create scoring chances and scoring. Super technical form of the game.

And the small area moves then seem like magic on a large pitch. Hence the majesty you see in the vid. A lot of footballers come from poor areas where they played in small alleys etc. Somewhat of a prob for the US trying to be a powerhouse. Costs to play and huge open space to do so is a hindrance. Yes European countries like Germany have large spaces but the sport is integral in life which is unlike the US

Just to add if you start putting the ball on your head too much you will just get tackled. There was a brazillian player (Kerlon "a foca") that loved to do that, it stopped working once people got irritated enough and just went for his body (which brought injuries and a pretty sad carreer)

Ronaldinho has, as the only one, 3 under the wall goals, 3 bicycle kick goals, and is the only player ever, to have won a World Cup, a Copa América, a Confederations Cup, a Champions League, a Copa Libertadores, and a Ballon d'Or... he's also widely regarded, as one of the greatest football players, of all time... his unique playing style, incredible skill, and joyful approach to the game, have made him a beloved figure, in the world of football, to the point, of making a whole generation, fall in love with the sport, and after watching a game with him in it, u wanted to go out play your self... he had that big of an effect of us... even when he was playing, the enemy teams fans would clap, if Ronaldinho scored, coz of the respect they had for him... PS: Ronaldinho was Messis mentor, assisted his first goal for Barcalona, and handed over the nr 10 shirt to Messi, when he stopped playing...

He’s doing most of these, against the best of the bests like, Nesta, gatuso, pirlo , the infamous athletico Madrid (equivalent to 1990’s pistons bad boys), Real Madrid (which there’s a clip included that you analysed it, in 9:10 , when the camera zoomed into the crowd, the crowd were actually the opponent, the Real Madrid fans, their rival, standing up showing him respect , for destroying their beloved team) ,physical English teams, Italian defensive juggernauts!

One fun little detail you might have missed when you started talking about the goal he scored a 9min20sec, was that the fans clapping was the rival teams fans. Despite Real Madrid and Barcelona being fierce rivals, the fans of Madrid acknowledged greatness when they witnessed it and ended up chanting his name while he was destroying their team on their turf.

When Messi comes to Barca, his number was the 30 ;-) not 19 :-) 19 was the number before Ronaldinho goes to AC Milan ^^
At 5:25 this was Dinhos first goal for Barca. And at 5:59....holy, these are not just any players.

All of these players look like little schoolboys.
At 6:47 this is a NIKE advertising. Its Fake ;-)
At 7:05 Barca against Real Madrid, the Classico ^^
Only a handful of players have ever received applause from Real Madrid fans (Ronaldinho and Messi are part of them). Here Ronaldinho single-handedly dismantled Real. He scored 2 goals and made Real's players look like little boys.
At 19:21 the freekick against England. For all the other players I would say it was a coincidence. But with Dinho it was pure intention. He wanted to take the freekick exactly like that.
At 20:05. The End. Ronaldinho sets up the first goal for Messi, which Messi scored for Barca. Look at Dinho. He laughs before the ball is in. He knew it was going in. ^^

Also, when he took the ball from the goalkeeper, no that's not allowed x'd It USED to be tho waaaay back, last century. I've seen a player from the 60s, George Best, do that too to a world famous english goalie back then and it was so cool too x'd Ronaldinho also tried to do that again late in his career, like the last year or so. He feinted that he was gonna do what he does in this video, which stardles the goalie and he drops the ball (at which point, technically its in play already so Dinho can touch it), Dinho grabs it and scores. Unfortunately that got disalowed as well and he got a yellow for it HAHA, but imo that shoudl have counted x'd

Ronaldinho will never be a unique player that nobody can really replicate what he does, his overall ball control is ultimate, i haven't seen anyody else who uses a much their body to keep possession of the ball, to pass,... he's a technical master
he's my favorite player ever, i saw him play when i was a child and he's so entertaining, creative, he made a whole generation love the sport, on thing just one video can't do is demonstrate how consistently he was doing those things, if you want to check out more videos of him i suggest "Ronaldinho insane freestyle tricks" and "Ronaldinho sexiest passes ever"
18:25 no it's not because it's while the goalkeeper is releaseing/kicking the ball, and you can't prevent the gk from doing so, they have a (technically 6 second) limited amount of time before releasing the ball, but you can "steal" it after he kicked/... the ball (if you were standing in *at least that far way* from him before he kicks it
19:45 i don't think it is registered or anything, i didn't find any real record or something but there has been some free-kick goals from before the midfield line, i have in mind Juninho, Roberto Carlos against France, çhalanoghlu's free-kick at Leverkusen, gotta be one of them, the longest goal ever tho is a goalkeeper who scored from a goal kick, nobody got it, it just bounced and the other gk didn't expected it x)
20:10 it's Messi's first goal ever (in any "adult" league) (for the quick anecdote, Ronaldinho also introduced Kobe Bryant to Messi and said he was gonna be the best player ever)

In the indoor part he's recreating what he did as a 9 years old it's for a nike commercial called "joga bonito" means: play beautiful. I really liked your analysis of his goal against Real Madrid when at the last moment he turns his hips to score. After that the real Madrid fans stood up and applauded him. It's like if Saquon Barkley scores 3 insane TDs in the eagles stadium and the whole crowd starts applauding him. That long free kick was against England in QF of the 2002 WC, everyone expected a normal pass inside the box, he was the only one who could think 🤔 oh the goalie is 10 cm too far from the goal.If he had the discipline of Europeans he would have won 3 world Cups. You had a very good point, about how he makes it look like a left side shot, while curling it to the right.
I am a goalkeeper and the main thing I use, is how the "supporting/standing" foot of an apponent stands, while shooting.
In most cases that foot betrayes where the other foot will kick the ball. But it's always a gamble.

Speaking of "keep ups": I remember that me and a friend had a summer where we had a little competition in who could do the most and we started from pretty crap to getting to 150-250 pretty regularly + it teaches your brain to get a feel for the ball and how to control it, so getting back to school and playing during recess would feel 200% easier.

08:45 I have played for almost 4 decades, sarted kicking a ball when I was 2 and I can honesty say your breakdown here regarding Body position here was brilliant. You perfectly articulate what I call "Throwing Intent" , which is the part you broke down talking about his hips and the direction they imply. Your Break down was not only exceptionally on point, it was on a level many people who are well versed in the sport would struggle to understand fully let alone articulate. As someone who does understand exactly what you refer too (if by slightly different labels) I am hugely impressed with your breakdown. I t really was first class. Please keep watching the sport , if only to do more of these.
Regarding "Throwing Intent" I call it that because you are making yourself readable deliberately ,its different from a fake, because the whole body is indicating one way, and you intend on going the other, its not just a flick of the leg, because many wont go for the leg flick, it has to be "real". So I "Throw" the Intent out there , hence throwing intent.
The fact you understand this much, I have no doubt you will soak up all of what you need to know very quickly, you already have an insight into some of the more advanced aspects of the game, because as you correctly indirectly pointed out, Basket Ball does indeed share many of the frames/bod mechanics positions and motions with Football, also the way possessions move is quite similar. Think of Football possessions as on a much longer tie format, but still has a similar amount of set play vs fluidity balance in open play, similar marking strategies, similar Roles within a team, similar patterns of team movement.
For instance the famous Bulls triangle Offence? Very similar principles to many Football attacking strategies. Triangles are lesson number 1 in possession football. You already know so much of the sport , you just dont realise it yet (if that makes sense)

18:20 No, that is not allowed, that goal was invalidated and he got booked with a yellow card. It happens the ball is considered in control of the goalie untill he drops it to the ground. BUT, knowing this in other ocasion, he fainted that same move, and the goalie dropped the ball.

A little late, but if possible take a look at Ronaldo Nazario (R9), he had a very short career, due to injuries in his early twenties, yet he was still the youngest player to win the ballon d' or and having 2 world cups, he was probably the best striker in history

8:36 The guy is where he should be. He is covering Eto'o. Imagine that guy to be at the second post, there is no one guarding Eto'o, he would have a clear shot on goal.

As my father explained it to me (former goalie): A goalie is supposed to cover the close corner, that's his job.
If he don't, he'll get chewed out by the manager. Might not be the same at this level, but that's drilled into them from a young age.
Also this covers 95% of the goal approximately, you can never cover 100%, so if they're able to score in this 5% then it's just a goal.
Not that many players that are skilled enough to score with 95% of the goal covered in the grand scheme of things.
Keep up the good work, you make me find videos i find interesting which I'd never think to look up myself.

if you are able to balance the ball on any part of your body in the game, it is allowed.
But your opponents would rush at you, because you would easily lose the ball at that point.
Although the place where Ronaldinho was in motion with the ball on his head, was not in a game.

9:00 You almost got everything correct the only thing that was wrong was the defender being out of position bc if he went to defend the goal on the line that would leave the other attacker open to recieve a pass for a free goal.

In response to your analysis of goal around 8:50 the goalkeeper should always be thinking he's most likely to shoot at the far post.
If the keeper has done his job properly there he'll have narrowed his angle down to such a degree that the near post shot is basically not viable. He's covering most of it and so it's not usually worth shooting there. It's easier for the keeper than the striker.
So you've got a pretty good idea that it's going to your left there. Ronaldinho was just a very adept finisher so he has a better chance of scoring there than most. Which he does. You can't save them all. But any keeper at a reasonable level knows that he's almost certainly going to go far post from there. Getting beaten at your near post is embarrassing.
