  • The killing of George Floyd ignited a national and international movement for racial justice. It also sparked a renewed examination of how racism continues to permeate so many aspects of our society. Now as we approach the one-year anniversary of Floyd’s death, the new WRAL Documentary The Skin We’re In takes a look at racism through the personal stories of people of color who’ve experienced discrimination, bias and microaggression first hand.

Unlike many reports people see in the news, the stories in this new documentary involve people of color experiencing discrimination in everyday activities, exposing how prevalent racism continues to be. In the documentary, the people telling their own personal stories also share their ideas about how the problem of racism can be solved in our society.
