- In august 2021 we did an hike to reach the Muttsee and Limmerensee, in Canton Glarus, Switzerland. We slept in the tent at 2500m over the sea level, close to the Muttsee hutte. It rained during the night so it was cold, around 5 °C (41 °F). Not the most refreshing sleep we ever got, but for sure an experience.
To do the same hike, you need to reach the Linthal station with the train and then walk for 6km to reach the cable car station. We asked for a ride and locals were super nice.
Or with the car you can go directly to Luftseilbahn Tierfehd - Kalktrittli.
The ticket for a round-trip is 15chf.
Sleeping in the hutte is also an option but you need to book in advance since place is limited.
Hi ! Does the cable car function all year round ? And, how many hours did it take you to finish the hike
Thanks xx
hey, since you camped here, do you think it is possible to camp near Limmerensee (not exactly beside it), at the famous cliff edge (Muttenchopf) where one can see the Limmerensee North to South vertical? (This crazy specifics because I want to shoot Milky with this lake in the foreground)
It should be possible but it's very exposed so it can be dangerous
bonjour vous avez fait combien de temps en bivouac , il faut une autorisation ?
We just spent one night there, no authorization required as far as I know
Hey guys :)
Did you treck you rout?
we didn't track the hike, but you should find it if you search for Limmerensee hike
