Man I wish I was hip that early, I didn't get on to Spitta heavy until he was on 106 and park promoting an album and he dropped that song Capitol with 2 Chainz, right around when he started messing with Harry fraud. People didn't understand why I liked him so much but now they getting it. I just relate to him more and it's straight up motivation music

His best projects are the ones where he gets the best beats like songs like job or songs like ventilation or Billy Ocean its like the stuff he drop with alchemist been a hit or miss covert coupe is a classic but the other stuff with alchemist i don't know but I think its because as he's getting older he's leaning towards that Westcoast song more than ever he never dropped a wack song on a cardo beat, thats his lane those underground Midwest or Westcoast type beats with the pilot talk type beats but then again I didn't like that last pilot talk either number 1 2 and 3 were classic though but hopefully this project is dope because Jermaine Dupri made the best Westcoast type beats back then so hopefully he gave spitta some shit

He lead the "Lean & Snap" era which made rap more mainstream and shortly after people were able to afford recording equipment and the current sound was the "lean & snap" sound so they emulated that and contined to evolve from there. Its wild to say but JD, Soulja Boy, Kanye (by way of Kid Cudi) and Drake molded this current state of hip hop from the 2000s. 🤔

I used to play the h3ll out of Life in 1472... I feel that whole album was a banger! Being in the south myself, JD is one of my favorite producers... and I love how he boosts other artists.
JD has such a wide range of sound compared to other great producers... this is probably part of the reason people dont know he did a lot of the records he did.
