    Reggie was pretty much 35 years old ladies and gentlemen. I still find it hard to believe people say this guy was "overrated". Look at some of his rosters that made those runs, solid teams with good role players but hardly a super team. S/O to uncle reg, one of the clutchest players of all time

      Reggie never played with another HOFer in their prime.
      Jordan had Rodman and Pippen and guys that were very good like Grant and Kukoc.
      The Pistons had Rodman, Thomas, Dumars, etc.
      Celtics had Bird, Parish, McHale, DJ and a bunch of great role players.
      Those Pacer teams were good but they just never had another guy who could take over games like those other teams. If Miller didn’t have a big game the Pacers didn’t have a back up plan.
      He also could have won a title with the Celtics but decided not to come back.

      any doubt about Reggie not being so great was extinguished in his final season. The team was decimated with suspensions and injuries and he had to turn back the clock and become more of a scoring option. Before that final season, i don't reggie had 30 point games for the past few seasons but he had multiples of that as he took over the scoring load. scoring just comes so easy for him.
      he just wasn't a selfish guy who jacks up 20 shots a game in order to average 25 + ppg.

    That Bucks team was fascinating- they weren't winning a ton in 2000, but a year later, virtually the same roster goes from an 8 seed to a 2 seed and nearly crashed the NBA Finals.

    This Bucks team was scary and they should have went to the finals the following season. Everyone talks about Golden State and their shooters but the Bucks with Ray Allen, Sam Cassel, and Glenn Robison hardly ever missed any jump shots. As a Pacers fan this series actually seemed harder than the Lakers at times. Kobe and Shaq would have their bad moments but this Bucks team could shoot the lights out and if they missed it felt like a fluke.

      You're smoking crack. There's no WAY a Pacers team that relied on 39 year old Miller as the primary scoring option was beating 2005 Spurs led by Prime Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker with clutch shooters Brent Barry and Robert Horry supporting them.

    fun fact Reggie Miller had more career points than Ray Allen I also Ray was better off the dribble than Reggie but Reggie was no joke he out scored him

    • @zeaferjones1404
      @zeaferjones1404 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of people forget that. That goes for Curry too. Reggie Miller has more points than the people who surpassed him in 3 pointers made.

    • @zeaferjones1404
      @zeaferjones1404 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ray Allen likely was better off the dribble and dunking on people. However, Reggie made a lot of mid-range Sam Cassell type shots and Ray Allen mainly shot 3 pointers or would drive all the way.

      Bucks were coming, the following season they almost made it to the Finals but got hosed by the refs in the ECF

    • @BIGLARRY100
      @BIGLARRY100 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tht Bucks team was good. The year after this series they were 1 of the 3 best teams in the league. The year before this series the Pacers swept them in the Playoffs but all 4 games were close & all wins were by under 5 points. The game in this video was game 5 of a best of 5. Even though Pacers won the series 3-2 it was literally by 1 point in game 5. The Bucks won the 2 games they did by blowouts. Both Bucks wins were by over 30 points each. This Pacer team went to the Finals & lost in 6 to prime Shaq/Kobe/Rice. Indiana actually got screwed hard in gm 6. It was tied w/ Indy getting the rebound off a Laker miss with a chance to hold for the final shot. At worst OT at best a win. Instead they called a phantom foul on Davis AFTER the rebound for swinging his elbows putting Glenn Rice on the line for 2 (he led the league in free throw %.) There's a video that shows not only was there no foul but Davis literally doesn't even touch or come in contact w/ Rice. There is no contact made whatsoever & somehow in the Finals you call that w/ under 30 seconds left & the teams running down the floor? Pretty suspect imo. That was also the series were the Lakers shot the most foul shots in NBA Playoff history. 2 of the 4 most free throws attempted in league history occurred in tht series. Makes you wonder if the NBA was dead set on crowning Shaq/Kobe as tht was ring 1 for them. Of course 2 years later they had tht famous Kings series there is a documentary about & the bad calls the Kings faced. Shortly after Tim Donaghy went to jail for fixing games & threw the NBA under the bus saying he was told to do it & other veteran officials also skewed big games. The NBA of course denies it. You be the judge.

      @@BIGLARRY100 nba is rigged, pacers should have made it to the 99 finals against the spurs too. That foul was on the court not and an 1 for Larry Johnson, then the bucks should have went to the final in 2001. I remember ray Allen and Glenn Robinson in disbelief how the game was reffed. The nba wanted Philly vs LA for the storyline, but it would have been a better series and more importantly a more deserving bucks team going to the finals that year.

  • @TheWhizzkid23

    larry bird coached this pacers team? im not surprised that they went to the finals that year

    • @Specterling
      @Specterling 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheWhizzkid23 It was the final year of his 3 year plan. His goal was to get the Pacers to a title. After two tough losses in the ECF in 98 and 99, 2000 was his last chance. And after losing in the finals, he held true to his word and resigned as coach. Shame, because if he had stayed on, the Pacers would have had more cracks at the title.

    okay, at 1:01 why in the fucking hell would they let Reggie Miller get open like that? talk about dropping the ball. I mean, Reggie just moon walks away from Allen, and he completely forgets about him. The result: Reggie Miller gets a wide open easy three pointer.

    It's amazing to see how these teams role reversed. Pacers go from top 3 seeds in the East from 1995-1996 and 1998-2000, then suddenly barely make the playoffs with essentially the same team.
    Meanwhile, Milwaukee goes from an 8 seed to a 2 seed with essentially no roster turnover.
