Ft. Rob and the Black Hills are my favorite places in the USA. Been there eight times over my 70 years. Love it, but go after Memorial Day when the activities are open. It is why it has been awarded the best place to have a family reunion. No wonder it is Nebraska's most popular park despite being at the opposite end of the populace! During the summer that information booth outside the 1909 Lodge is the place to go to decide what to do each day. I think they forgot to mention the full service restaurant and the fact that during WWII a POW camp existed not to mention the War Dog Training Center.
Wife and I gravate to historical sites with lots of history. Thanks for showing this to us. We went through this area in 2021, but didn't know it existed.
I would say Nebraska is 1/3 to 1/2 cornfields. People don't realize this because they only drive the interstate. There are a lot of river valleys and sand hills in Nebraska.
We hope you love your time there! We did pull a couple off the dogs while the ticks were still crawling. We don't typically have trouble with ticks on the dogs since they are on preventative medicine. Every precaution helps!

We hope that you can get back to the area to check it out. We loved it! Thanks for watching!
Looks pretty (other than the ticks 😕). Thanks for another great video that gives such a nice overview - including pros and cons.
It was a great surprise! (The beautiful state park...not the ticks.) The hiking was surprising with incredible views and interesting features.
