@What Happened to Them? Agreed. I did notice a couple things misstated in the video, one being that when Dave Bickler left Survivor in 1983, it was for medical reasons (he developed polyps on his vocal chords.) Also, the song "I Can't Hold Back" is mis-stated as "I Can't Hold You Back."
Poor journalism. Should have read Peterik's book or watched both Peterik and Bickler's 2020 interviews. Both described the circumstances around Dave's vocal polyp surgery. Bickler was never fired. He needed 2 years of vocal rest so Dave shortly bowed out to doctors order, leaving Survivor in need to find a singer. I thought everyone knew this info?
Buckler needed an operation, and his recovery was going to take a year, but the band with so many contracts, tours, albums they had to release, fired Bickler and looked for a new vocalist!
@@Missepic-b8r Dave Bickler reiterated ostensibly many times in his interviews (some available here on youtube) over the years that he himself 'bowed out', (that's the actual term he used) and he felt poorly treated by the band and management when he returned after his polyps removal surgery. That's what he has claimed. I've heard only from '3rd party' sources, he was fired. But Bickler is adamant it was him that initiated his departure and even Peterik corroborated this scenario in a 1998 interview. I personally couldn't negate his version of events as I was not a witness to it, so we have to go with Bickler's word on the basis he is telling the truth.
Like Dave Bickler, but I absolutely love Jimi Jamison. Jim Peterik is one of the greatest songwriters. The music industry has ever seen. I have never read or heard anything good ever about Frankie Sullivan. Very sad what is happened to this band. Remember the music and how it shaped Your life. Vital signs is one of the best melodic rock pop albums ever. RIP Jimi Jamison. You are sorely missed.
Survivor was a wonderful group that should be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Jimi Jamison was an amazing singer and he never got the credit that he deserved either. This group will always be a super band to the fans that still love them. And who still listen to their amazing catalog of songs that was wonderfully written and sung magnificently by the beautiful voice of Jimi Jamison 🔥🔥😘😘❤️❤️. My question is What Didn't Happen to Survivor 🤣🤣?
100% of all the problems Survivor had all leads back to Frankie Sullivan. There is not enough space on here to write about how horrible he is as a person and bandmate. And this is coming from the biggest Survivor fan there is...
When Jimi Jamison died there was no more Survivor worth listening to He was the heart of Survivor and no one can replace him they just don't have the heart and emotion Jimi always sang to the crowd
Pride of lions is quite an amazing project. Many of their songs are better than Survivors, especially the first Cd in 2003 and The Roaring of Dreams in 2007. Recommended songs are Unbreakable, First Time Around The sun, Interrupted Melody, Gone, Madness of Love, Music and Me, Light From a Distant Shore, Falling Back to Then, Secret of The way, Turnaround, Astonish You, The Silence Says It All, The Tell, Silent Music, We Play For Free, If it Doesn't Kill Me, Are you The same Girl
A note, the image you showed while talking about the Greatest Hits collection, number two, that included two new songs is incorrect, the image appears to be from the first greatest hits album.which was a poorly designed effort from CBS.
I'm just going to say it right here: I just recently saw an interview with Frankie Sullivan and can confirm that he is a first-class asshole. Hearing him talk, you would think that Jimi Jamison was the only singer that ever mattered to Survivor, and yet it was Dave Bickler who had sung their greatest song and hugest hit ever. 🤷🏻♂️ Personally, I do feel that Jimi Jamison was the better singer of the two, but Dave Bickler had one of the highest ranges of any singer in Rock and Roll history, and definitely should be respected as such. Both singers were clearly heavily influenced by Steve Perry of Journey, whom of course is one of the 10 greatest Rock singers of all-time. At this point however I really don't care if Survivor gets back together or not. I think they're done. They've had their glory and they just need to wrap it up right now. Nobody in the band needs to work another day in his life anyways. I don't think they could even draw a thousand people to one of their shows now even if they did get back together. They just need to hang it all up already.
Sullivan talks as if Jimi had been the only singer that mattered to Survivior Yes, he's right Jimi pulled them out of the abyss, when they fired Bickler because they couldn't wait for him a year after the operation, with Bickler they only had one super hit and with Jimi a lot, plus Jimi sang like a lion on stage, I heard that Bickler had to rest after 3 songs in a row, plus Jimi connected with the audience, Bickler was a candle on stage.
Great job on this! Both singers are great but Jimi Jamison could turn random songs into anthems. He was really an amazing singer. RIP to him.
Eye Of The Tiger, in my personal opinion, was the most creative stadium anthem. And, might I add, the most inspirational.
I agree with that statement!

Frankie must be hard to get along with, and other issues. One would think he would have made a solo album. Never recorded anything since 2006
I love all their albums but I agree Vital Signs is great!

Jimi Jameson was bad ass he was the best
I don't understand what you say!
@@Missepic-b8r means he was awesome

The song high on you...and the most ever since the world begun. I love survivor.

Dave Bickler just needed to retune his voice. Look how thin and healthy he is.
Dave bickler was my favorite singer

you speak a great truth! 👍

Is that survivor with Stephen pearcy (Ratt) in that first picture?
What's with the thumbnail? Pretty sure Stephen Pearcy from RATT was never part of SURVIVOR. Or is that a shot at F.S.?
They partied together. That's all
@@Cafulishyeah it was stupid to have it at the beginning
Missing info is where are these guys from or based? Do/did they have a regional base?(like Smithereens/NJ, etc)
I think Chicago, IL.
What a revolving door 😮
Pick a thumbnail picture that actually has a complete line up of the classic Survivor band... you have 4 members and Stephen Pearcy from RATT...
They're not even a band anymore
They are going to play at the festival this summer.
No, they are old now . If Jimmy Jamison was still alive, he'd be around 72. RIP Jimmy
An honest effort but I would have done this differently and you don't answer your video question.
Frankie Sullivan happen to survior fired everyone
