Looks like an interesting game! Maybe I'll try and get it.
I think that the first turns sound a bit like openings in chess: with no immediately obvious to a beginner results, but setting up position and direction for the rest of the game. And it could be just as exciting as the late game for more experienced players.
It’s pretty funny how Devon is incorporating Cornwall also, lol! Way to make the Cornish mad. Historically Cornwall was incorporated into England only in the administrative sense. Devon, alongside the neighbouring counties of Somerset/Dorset/Wiltshire were all part of the ancient kingdom of Wessex, ca. Early 6th century - 927/1066.
@Honda Civic Cornwall was administratively a part of England since at least 1066.

For someone who's group likes mid weight euros would you say 18Chesepeake would be light enough for them? My brother in law and I are good for it but I don't wanna get it if it's going to be too heavy for them. For some reference they thought Lisboa was too much but like A Feast for Odin.
@@cartergreen2309 Hi Carter! Good question! It's sort of hard to gauge who will like them and who will not. Similar to your friends, Lisboa and any Lacerda title really doesn't sit well with me. Too much going on. For 18xx, I think the smaller full-cap games (18Chesapeake, 1889) are the best ways to test your feet in 18xx. Thankfully in both those games, once you get the track laying part down and how stock prices change, the rest should fall into place easily. What you can also do to get a feel for the games before committing is by jumping into a hotseat game on 18xx.games where you can play a couple of turns and see what happens. I don't think 18xx have tons of fiddly rules, but it does take a second to get used to the system. I enjoyed AFFO and Splotter titles before getting into 18xx so I'd say if you enjoy those, you'd enjoy 18Ches/1889!
@@DanielCornerthe might not be for some of us but probably worth a try. Food Chain Magnate is one most of us love but some hate so 18Ches would probably be similar. Worth shot though I think. Thanks!

Do you still find enjoyment in classic board games like monopoly or shoots and ladders, I don’t think chess or checkers counts since it’s only 2 players

Hi ProZD I really love your board game reviews! A really fun and great card/board game I recommend is Isaac four souls! It's a really fun game where you and 3 other friends compete against each other by fighting monsters and using loot cards/treasure cards to either help or hinder others to prevent them from getting 4 souls! It's a really great game and I really recommend it! Have a good one!
