Glad you feel the new Jotter is an improvement over the older version. These days, not many pens can live up to that statement. I'm still putting in for that restraining order.

According to the Goldspot website, the converter is an extra charge. Is the converter no longer included with the purchase of the pen as stated in the video?

    • @GoldspotPens
      @GoldspotPens 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Add the pen to the shopping cart and the converter will be automatically added for no-charge. This is provided we still have converters available, which we do at the moment.

Great video. Excellent review. I've been using Parker fountain pens since my father gave me a new to me (completely restored) ca. Parker 51 with the accountant nib. I used it all the way through undergrad and grad school.
About a month ago, I was at our local Staples and they had one, only one, Parker Jotter fountain pen on the pen rack. The pen has the brushed stainless steel barrel and cap. It's the 2018 version. It was priced at $19.95. I bought it and was pleasantly surprised at how nicely it writes. I do wish there was a fine point nib option but, unfortunately, there isn't. Anyway. I've been using the pen a lot lately and do really like it. I'm lucky that I have an extra Parker converter that fits the pen, which I will switch to when I use up the cartridges I have.
Anyway, thanks for a good review.

Love the review style! I am a huge Parker fan. I have a number of Jotter ballpoints that have Gel refills in them. I enjoy the hand feel and the writing experience. I am also a long time fountain pen user. I have several from a number of brands like Sheafer, Pilot, Parker and a really nice one that has no branding on it. I bought a Jotter Fountain pen today and loaded it with a Parker Quink mini cartridge in pink. I love the writing feel. The weight is just right and the pen has great balance. It's a winner in my book.

I picked up this bad boy in December 2019. Early days, but absolutely love it so far. I had a Lamy Safari before but I could not get along with the angles sides of the grip. This spherical shape feels way more natural to me. It does feel a little on the light side overall, but it is still heavier than the Lamy, and look way less plasticy. Medium nib comes up finer than on the Lamy, but it writes very smoothly imho. I am a fan 👍

just bought this pen for drawing...the (unintentional) corona references (e.g. buttwiping, virus, infect etc.) did NOT go unnoticed. KILLER REVIEW, man. xx stay safe.

Actually, the Jotter FP started life as the Parker Mixy then remarketed as the Parker 15. It only became "The Jotter" in 1982.

Nice to see this updated version. I have the older version, but was lucky enough to get a good writer.

If you buy from Parker on Japanese Amazon, they have the fine nib version - they don't sell the grey and gold cap versions here though.

Always a good time! I don’t mind the recycled outer sleeve, if the contents are worth the price. Good on ya Goldspot for making such a good deal. I know changing your phone numbers and taking out a restraining order would have been costly and time consuming.

The Parker Jotter ballpoint is how I got into fountain pens. About 3 years ago I was looking for a Parker Jotter online and ran across a Jinhao X250 for $3. I bought it and fell in love with fountain pens. I now have almost 200 in my collection From Lamy 2000 to Jinhao 911. Thanks for this review. I need one of these Jotter fountain pens. Take care man.

Thanks for the review! Hitting all the why's and what for's. Looked at goldspot and they've seemed to have run out of Jotter & Converter packages. But with the amazon price of 19.99 (pen) and 6.02 (converter) it is in range and I'm going to pull the trigger.

Dear Roy, You ARE the man, what with your negotiating with Goldspot Pens to do the aforementioned deal for us. In the meantime, let's have a little sympathy for the those misguided souls, who bought all those ballpoint pens. Also, I don't want to no friggin recycled butt wipes on no friggin pen sleeve, Roy! Thanks, brother, for the great reviews!

Or on a Christmas sale at your local Office Depot. I had gone to Office Depot for the Sheaffer Star Wars pens. Picked up R2D2 fountain pen to go with the roller ball my sister had given me. I saw the Parker on sale and was transported back to the 5th grade. Picked it up on impulse. lol

Well I'm totally divided after seeing this video. I have Parker Jotters from 1983, 1985, (it says 'MADE IN USA') and from 2004 (which it says 'MADE IN UK'). Anyway! From the 80's they are heavy alright! You can tell immediately once grabbing them and actually you're wondering like what the heck they bear inside?? The UK one is lighter than the US but again just a bit more heavier than the FRANCE...and then we come to the present, that the pen is so light...you couldn't tell if it slipped from you or something...now that is cons!! The pros is the clip redesign certainly!! Anyway very informative and nicely presented video!!!!

Roy how are you my friend. I have got the earlier version of the Jotter FP which i have had for many, many years and i have still got it to this day. I agree about the newer version it does look more refined, better made and somewhat classier than the older version. And i must admit earlier version does look cheap in comparison. Thanks Roy for another fun packed and awesome review see you no the next and stay safe my friend!!!!

This design of the new Parker fountain pens is somewhat similar to those school fountain pens from the Dutch brand Heutink from the 90s.
Unfortunately I no longer have that fountain pen.

Thanks for the great review. I'll have to remember to not get on your enemy list as I don't want the old model either. If you're saving it for an enemy though, it does give a new meaning to a poison pen.

I need to hold a Jotter FP before I buy. On the lower end pens, I need a compelling reason to not drop more coin on another Metropolitan.
People either love or hate the Bladerunner films. I'm firmly in the love them group. Bladerunner 2049 is the best movie I've seen in years.

Is it just me or is the cartridge black REALLY bad? compared to india ink with a dip it just seemed grey... Is it worth getting a converter and say platinum ink for the jotter?

    • @amoledzeppelin

Yes, the included Quink black is not quite black. I ordered mine with a converter to use when this one runs out.

There Jotter Gel (ballpoint, but a good experience) is the best pen on the planet. I think I will by this sucker. Love it. And yes, no converter is so goddamn annoying.
Oh wait. It only comes in medium. Grr.

Okay, so I figured out the twist that you mentioned in your Instagram post. It’s the “who is your favorite actress/actor” question, cleverly hidden in your writing samples. I’m right, right? What else could it possibly be? So, favorite actress? Dunno. I don’t watch many movies. Favorite actor? Dunno. I don’t watch many movies. But probably Depp. Before he went nuts.

This pen is horrible. Poorly made and the grip is made out of the slickest plastic in the world that your finger will end up on the nib 100% of the time. Parker has gone way downhill. The only good Parkers I have are old ones made in the US.
