I love the content and the genuine review! I was wondering for these HP prebuild can you replace the 1TB SATA Hard drive for a 1TB SSD? Also, with the system fan (looks weak) and the CPU fan being the only cooling system plus the lack of frontal airflow from the weird case cover, wouldn't it overheat eventually? Thank you.

I'm not sure about adapters for ATX PSUs. I believe that the 5v stdby voltage is higher on the HP proprietary PSUs. There are still some options though. Perfectly safe, but they are not the cleanest. There is a little adapter yo ucan buy in order to use a second PSU to power only the gpu. The adapter thing is to make it where it turns on when the SATA connection in the computer gets power...and of course shut it off as well. That way they are in sync. I also saw where someone basically did the same thing with one of those Dell Power bricks. Those can be found for like $20 bucks used. I thought the small Dell PSU could be cleaner since you could put the brick under the desk and only have the one cable coming up and feed it through an opening in the back of the case to connect to the gpu. I don't have links for them or anything, but you should be able to search for them farily easily.
Thanks you very much for this. I got one quick question. I got my a TE01-1244. It has a Baker 8767 motherboard. I ordered 400w l04618-800, I believe that will work with it. @@TNW1337 Thanks, I figured as much. I bought one last January with an i7 12700 and a RTX 3060 12 GB. A month after purchase I was gaming, the top of the case got HOT. I rendered a video as a test. It thermal throttled very quickly and the window of return had passed. I paid a bit over the price of the components. I said heck with it, got a ATX Z690 Elite, Full tower with 200mm fans, 4-NVMEs, Noctua tower cooler, etc. Talk about cool temps, its great. Anyway, I just installed a i-5 10400 in the Victus, a 1660 TI I had laying around. The i5's draw a lot of watts. I played the same game on a 1080 monitor as opposed to a 2K monitor and it didn't get hot. Aside from that, I'm not big on gaming but I edit video and use a lot of software. The computer I built was my first full build, its the size of a small suitcase I'm glad I did it. The giant fans are dead silent. However, I kinda wonder if the cooling fan was not mounted correctly and that's why it ran so hot? I'll never know or regret having 4- full speed NVME-2's on the motherboard, 2 other standard SSD's with room for 2 more. HP puts all the USB 3's on the front of the case, I hate that as it looks bad to me to leave cables plugged into the front forever. I installed a USB 3 expansion port in the back but its PCIE-1 so its not ideal. I've got a 32" 4K monitor and a new desk coming for the Victus. I've rambled on long enough, I have my reasons for running 2 fully functioning computers. Up until now, the secondary one has always been the one that should be retired. The Victus is still under its 1 year warranty {:>) . I may need that fan?
what psu would you recommend for a 1660 super? i have a 180w power supply cuz my envy didn't come with a gpu or anything and they dont have the 500w in stock. would i be good with a 400w?
No, this is why I do the screw kit with the noctuas other heat sinks would work but you would need to remove the bracket., good luck with your upgrade!
Maybe you mentioned it and I missed it but I don't understand how you have the fan airflow oriented or why you chose to mount it on the inboard side of the radiator. I have a te01 2265 Envy. Speccy tells me that the CPU is a little warm even at idle. And Speccy shows the motherboard temp even higher. I'm guessing the motherboard temp is the VRAM or capacitors? I'd like to lower the CPU temp but I'm really more concerned about the mobo temp. It looks like that big cooler could be installed to overhang the VRAM location and if the fan was blowing down on the mobo... I could solve two problems. Anybody got thoughts on this?
TechNitWit--do you think this computer would benefit from the i7-10700? I found it on sale for like $275... Also, if I do put in the i7, what ram size and speed do you recommend? I would be using for Photoshop and gaming. Thank you!!
For adobe 100% I would get the i7 it will also help with gaming. So yes I would if you can afford it. Also get the Small Noctua Heatsink cooler in my video. you will need it for cooling.
I have a 1650 super with a ryzen 5 3500 now can I swap out the 1650 for a 3060 I have 400-watt PSU and it's Platinum don't know if that makes a difference
i know this video is a couple years old but i just bought a TE01 and there is no 6 or 2 pin power cable. Is that common on the newer models and if so what do i need to get power to a new graphics card?
Hey great channel! I picked up a TE01 0003na a couple years back, would it be able to handle a 3060ti on its 400w psu, is it cutting it fine with the i7 9700F?
Assuming you still have the stock PSU that came with the system, which should be a 400W platinum 80+, i wouldn't recommend trying the 3060ti with it. You can probably do the regular 3060 though. It also depends on other components in your rig. If you have any optical drives, mechanical hard drives, RGB lighting then your power draw would most likely be too high and you won't even be able to run a 3060.
@@TNW1337 As an alternative, I also recommend the RX 6600 or 6600XT. Assuming you don't specifically need a Nvidia card, both the 6600 and 6600XT have lower TDP than a 3060, and for the 6600XT, it usually outperforms the 3060 for most games. Also both cards are cheaper than the 3060 by over $100.
HP ENVY Desktop TE01-2275xt PC , looks similar to the PC you upgraded and doeas have 400w PSU. My question is: is there an adapter so that I can remove the HP power supply and put in a standard ATX power supply? HP charges 150 dollars for their 500w and i get 600w name brand bronze rated PSU's on sale for 40-50 dollars. I do not want to be stuck buying the PSU from HP...is there an adapter and if so what is the part number and where do i get it?
@@TNW1337 Oh, ok. That freaking sucks. This is overall a really nice system (not by any means high-end) but I really feel like it's making me wear handcuffs.
I found other 2060 super's, but with different mghz or GB's (8 to 12gb) would I be able to use those without upgrading the othe parts you recommend? The current graphics card you recommended has been out of stock for a while now.
Would the 942332-001 power supply be compatible with the TE01? Update: I bought it and installed on my TE01, also installed an ASUS Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, everything is working fine so far (2 months)!
The new one in the TG02? it has the same mounting holes and fan slot. Yes I am 95% certain it will work. I have a Video show how to order one and what the part numbers are. I could not look the supply up. is there any other number or letter in front of it? Or a Model or Part number ?
If I put in an RTX 3070 or 4070 (w/ 500watt PSU), would any of the three Noctuas you've listed be fine? Is there a substantial difference or risk in going with the mid or small size instead of the large one?
Nope Noctua fans do not use that much power. if you remove the stock fan that 1.1 or 1.35 amps the noctuas use 0.11 amps pretty easy to do that math you can add 9 noctuas before you = that one fan
@@TNW1337 Thanks for the response. If I did the GeForce RTX 3060 with the stock PSU, could I get by without adding that heat sink and keeping the stock one? Likely to overheat?

(Relatively new to this, sorry) If I may ask, what PSU is that? I got a graphics card for my PC and found out that the PSU I have doesn’t have an 8-pin “plug”. I found out that I can only have an HP brand because of the 7-pin P2, but I want to know what kind and what would fit. Thank you
At 2:13 your PCI slot covers are already knocked out. How do I remove those if I've never had PCI cards installed before? It seems like one contiguous plate of aluminum with no obvious way to remove the individual slot covers.
Sort of off topic, what does SATA power cable goes with this computer, I can't seem to find the serial number and have bought 2 of the wrong cables already? For some reason mine didn't come with one of those.

Most of the ENVY models already comes with a NVMe. There is however only one M.2 slot for a NVMe SSD, so if you want to upgrade it, you will have to clone it to your new drive, which means you have to also buy a M.2 external enclosure, or do a fresh install of windows (which might be a better idea). However, I know that HP is now shipping most of the ENVY models with Win 11 now so that might get annoying.
Yes you are right. The heatsink goes on the CPU which the ihs is a plate that acts like a heat sink. It is literally in the name of IHS. Integrated Heat Spreader . Is pretty much a heatsink.
So I watched this video and I have a $1,200 HP Envy that I purchased off of Amazon last year it has 32 gigs of RAM and 3 TB of Hard drive. 1 TB SSD and 2 terabyte HDD. I believe it's running the Intel 660 in the Intel 7 motherboard. The problem is I can't get Lightroom or photoshop to work for anything anymore. I've done two Factory resets this year. Is there anything I can do to speed up my computer? My business is falling apart right now because I can't do any photography editing as my computer is so slow that a click of the mouse and Lightroom takes four seconds just to respond

Yes
@@TNW1337 doesnt it say that 1660s need 500w though? will i be fine with a 400w
One more question. Do you need to remove the stock cpu backplate to support the large cooler?
No, this is why I do the screw kit with the noctuas other heat sinks would work but you would need to remove the bracket.,
good luck with your upgrade!
What motherboard upgrade is most compatible and would fit and work with the hp Envy desktop TE01?
Anybody got thoughts on this?
try it and see what happend. the cool mod I did worked great didt have any temp over 62c

Will the 3060 work with the stock power supply
I have a 1650 super with a ryzen 5 3500 now can I swap out the 1650 for a 3060 I have 400-watt PSU and it's Platinum don't know if that makes a difference
Yes you can.
i know this video is a couple years old but i just bought a TE01 and there is no 6 or 2 pin power cable.
3060 is the smart move.

You have 2 options do a case swap To a new case, psu and motherboard. Or get the one from hp.

is the 6+2 cable stock on thr TE01? When I opened mine, I didn't see it with the stock power supply? Am I missing something?
depending on the model no. But you can order a larger PSU I have a newer video on how to do this.
I just ordered a TE01-4000. Do all the TE01 models have the exact same case and layout?

If that is the GPU you have it should have a 6Pin or 8pin on the GPU. that would be the 400w PSU. Are you sure it is a 1660? not a 1650?

Am I able to upgrade to a M.2 NVMe on the te01?
Most of the ENVY models already comes with a NVMe. There is however only one M.2 slot for a NVMe SSD, so if you want to upgrade it, you will have to clone it to your new drive, which means you have to also buy a M.2 external enclosure, or do a fresh install of windows (which might be a better idea). However, I know that HP is now shipping most of the ENVY models with Win 11 now so that might get annoying.
Yeah you can do the clone with a Larger Disk. Order a USB to Nvme. adapter
