That's me. I'd never played a final fantasy game in my life, I knew nothing about the story, and I didn't even like rpgs, but when Rebirth came out and everyone was talking about it I decided to buy both games on a whim and instantly fell in love with them (and Aerith lol). and now Rebirth is probably my new favorite game of all time, and I've even gone back and played the original. and now part 3 is probably my most anticipated game ever.
Just goes to show that it's never too late to get into Final Fantasy VII. It's a simple process and I wish less people were daunted by all the different possible entry points.
She is who I think of when I think of a new FF fan born from Remake. She is enjoying the Remake trilogy, and she liked FF16 and FFX. I believe she wants to play more but has not yet
I really liked both of those. Another newcomer I can recommend is Whimsy Psyche. She was extremely perceptive to the smallest details during her playthrough
How could I forget! Cloudsi (appropriately named) is doing a first-time playthrough of Remake Intergrade right now and will play Rebirth after. Highly recommend her too
not sure about that tbh. It *might* work. But it would either be very episodic with random shallow side stories (e.g. help stop an underground crime group in Mindgar) or it would add too much to the already exploding lore.
You could ideally add even more detail; more downtime making it into an anime and it can be a horror, a comedy a slice of life, and action and mystery anime all in one
I saw the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete movie a few years back. If they decide on making ANOTHER movie, I'm sold! I LOVE FFVII so much, I'll take pretty much anything: a TV show, a movie, you name it! OMG! Is that SEPHIROTH at 10:56 with his GORGEOUS WING OUT?! I LOVE HIM! He's been my favorite character since 2007! Tyler Hoechlin is doing an AMAZING JOB with him!
I can see an anime tv series adaptation happening. Personally I could see it going in a direction similar to the Terminator anime in terms of vibes. I'd want something dark, restrained and mysterious and a healthy dose of goofyness. Basically I don't want a Hollywood version of FF7.
Important disclaimer regarding the RTX 5070 being comparable to the RTX 4090: this is only true when comparing the visual results in games that provide the option for both cards to utilize their best available version of "DLSS Frame Generation." Excessive 'technical' details: The 4090 (and entire 40xx series) can generate one additional AI made frame (labelled 2x) in between two rendered frames and the 5070 has the ability to generate two (called 3x) or even three (called 4x) AI generated frames for games where developers implement the feature. The first important thing is that many games do not have support for NVidia frame generation at all (refered to as 2x for standard 40xx series cards frame gen), and even fewer games will offer support for the 50xx series of cards that support "3x, or 4x" frame gen. When it comes to raw power, the 4090 will still vastly overpower the 5070. Games such as FF7 Remake on PC (which doesn't offer any form of DLSS AI image upscaling at all but doesn't have trouble approaching 120 fps at 4K on a 4090 in my experience) and FF7 Rebirth (which promises standard DLSS upscaling but has not mentioned anything about "Frame Gen") won't get any of the huge benefit they're promising from the 5070 unless those games implement those features with a patch. FFXVI on PC does support 2x Frame Gen, but we'd only get that additional benefit playing it with a 50xx series card if the developers patch in an update to support new new 50xx series 3x or 4x Frame Gen. The 2nd important thing is that if the 5070 implements 3x or 4x frame gen in a game that starts with a lower frame rate, such as 30 fps, there is going to noticeable input lag. Even 2x Frame gen adds a significant amount of input lag even at higher base frame rates, though it's often not significant enough to worsen the experience in that case. Digital Foundry's video today about the 50xx series new feature demonstrated that 3x, and 4x Frame Gen only adds a smaller amount of input delay on top of 2x frame gen at 'high' frame rates (around 6 additional miliseconds on top of an overall 50 milliseconds in regards to input delay.) Regardless of that, the 5070 still sounds like a promising option at that price point. Just keep in mind, for any game that doesn't support the 50xx version of 3x and 4x Frame Gen, you're going to experience far less performance compared to something like the 4090. Sorry if I overexplained that. I originally just wanted to comment to explain that I'm happy to support your videos with a 'like' even when they're about games I'm not necessarily into. You've got a really great demeanor, and it makes me glad to see you succeed and grow your channel. I hope that never diminishes as you continue to thrive as a content creator. I've also had a couple drinks now, so I'm saying the quiet parts out loud lol. You make videos that I enjoy watching even if it's about something I already know or am not that interested in. Now, I'm going to watch the rest of this video haha.
@@CuriousCorduroy Happy to hear that : ) I'm sure I'm not alone in this sentiment, and I think it's the kind of thing people rarely express even though they're feeling it.
@@drumjod well damn, you definitely saved me a wall of text. I'll just add that as you get down to the actually affordable Nvidia cards, it may be worth considering AMD's new cards whenever they actually launch them. There's a lot of leaks out there that are all over the place, but I think it's safe to assume that the consistent points are likely true which is that they are going to offer something up to 4080 Super performance at a likely lower price point and much more widely applicable software features - in the sense that their software tend to be supported by a wider range of hardware, and they're also much more experimental in providing their tools at the driver level without requiring developer support, although the results are never going to be as good without direct developer coordination to implement those features like frame-gen and upscaling
Didn't they talk about making an anime series for FF7? As far as story goes, I think they should focus on stories outside of the trilogy or sequel material. I also think they should focus on making the rest of the compilation accessible to fans. That includes Before Crisis, and I'm not just talking about Ever Crisis. I'm talking about a full fledged Remake, and for Dirge of Cerebus a similar remaster/remake that Crisis Core got. Also, in light of First Soldier, it too should be given it's own spin-off title as well console. I wouldn't mind seeing an anime of The Kids Are Alright too
I would be excited to see a full FFVIIR style game featuring Glenn and young Sephiroth from First Soldier. Glenn quickly grew on me in the Ever Crisis FS content (despite the shortcomings of how the story was executed) and I think his interactions with young Sephiroth and their journey could make for a really compelling narrative. There are also plenty of locations from FS to explore that no longer exist in OG FF7 or weren't visited. Glenn reminded me a bit of Captain Kirk from Star Trek (though I haven't seen a lot of the old Star Trek episodes tbf) through his brute force 'let's just go for it' leadership style, but he also seemed to have endearing qualities that reminded me of having a naive sense of humor where he didn't care if his jokes landed well in way that makes me think of the humor that comes across from Homer Simpson or a little of Peter Griffin. The other Remake style game I'd love to see is something that takes place during the age of the Cetra and Jenova's earlier interactions with society back then. Also, I might be in the minority, but I had a great time with Dirge of Cerberus back in the day, though I find it pretty rough to enjoy today. A 'remakester' similar to Crisis Core: Reunion would hit the spot. I think they could potentially outsource the project like they did with CC:R to keep the main developers free to work on new games. I still need to read, "The Kids Are Alright," but was surprised how much I enjoyed, "On the Way to a Smile."
These are all solid ideas. It's unlikely we'll get premium quality games for everything in the compilation so an anime series or anime style movie for some of the novels would definitely be great.
@@drumjod I think Glenn will turn out to be Cloud's father... it's not the most popular idea, but to me it makes the most sense. I think a full fledged First Soldier Remake could really flesh the story out even more. What we got was more or less the outline. We could get more about Glenn, Matt, and Lucia. ( I actually have a fanfic posted for Cloud's parents that's 11 chapters long ) and get more history about the Rhadorans as well as more about Rosen and Refu. Also with Episode 2 currently underway, we can get more background on how Angeal was assigned to work with Sephiroth. More about who Bachman is, and the intrigue that Alissa brings to the story with masamune and Sephiroth's obsession with it. All the way with the eventual meeting of Genesis. Who knows how long FS will run. I would like to see a climax of Sephiroth, Genesis, and Angeal fight some ancient demon and they have to use a tri-tech in order to destroy it which would make that chapter the perfect prelude chapter for Part 3 of the trilogy to introduce tri-tech attacks. A story of how Jenova first came to Gaia would be interesting, but perhaps that could be a flashback chapter or even a short movie. I enjoyed Dirge of Cerebus, the story was interesting. There was also a multiplayer Dirge of Cerebus which has some characters that weren't in the original plus there is a lost chapter for DoC. You can look up the lost chapter here on YT. The Kids Are Alright is a very interesting read, it gives you a completely different perspective of the world.
@@jesse1381 Sadly, you're probably right, but FF7 is the iconic game in the series and it would make sense for them to make the entire compilation accessible. Once they do, they probably should do a finale so to speak to wrap it up completely.
@@TravaillesDuChanson I've found it kind of amusing how much some people hate the idea of Glenn being Cloud's father, but I don't mind it as long as it's pulled off well. That's cool that you've written so much FS fanfic. I don't think I've read any fanfic before. Where's it posted?
Just a heads up, that 5070 to 4090 comparison is only valid with multi frame generation enabled on the 5070. It's not an apples to apples comparison, sadly.

I remember reading an overblown article about Barret 'supposedly being an offensive stereotype' around the time FF7R first came out. I highly doubt many people feel that way, and fortunately haven't seen any more claims like that since. It was pretty clear that the authors of those articles didn't have a decent understanding of Barret's genuine and often subtle qualities. Instead, the article only focused on a surface level impression while misunderstanding or misrepresenting Barret's mannerisms and actions as he happens to grow as a person over the course of the story, which is also true of other main characters. John Eric Bentley had a very thoughtful response to those claims in an interview a few years back. The nuanced portrayal of Barret in 7R might be my favorite aspect of characterization in the Remake series. I'd love to hear what Bentley said again specifically, though it would take a bit of time to find that specific clip. He comes across as a really great person who also finds a thought provoking way to express the silver lining in dark clouds. Someone could probably make a great YT short showing what he said and I think it applies to more than just FF7. Bentley has become an inspirational person and it comes through in his words as Barret's voice actor. If any English speaking VA's from 7R deserve an award, he'd be at the top of my list and I think there's a lot of great voice acting throughout, despite occasionally corny NPC dialogue lol.
