    Part 13: • Aries Spears: Megan's ...
    Part 1: • Aries Spears: Any Man ...
    --------
    In this clip, Aries Spears and Vlad discuss the sound and style of musicians such as Future, Migos, Eminem, Jay-Z, Snoop, Biggie, and Mobb Deep. Although there are similarities in regional sounds and flow, they agree that each artist maintains individuality in their delivery. They also discuss various artists' recent legal issues, and assert that the goal is to become successful before getting in trouble with the law.

    100% agree with Aries. While these rappers today have some subtle differences they typically have the same flow, delivery and cadences. They mumble rap about the same bs which has little to no substance and have played a key role in perpetuating the dumbing down of hip-hop. Back then rappers had a deeper overall message and it was authentic to how they came up and where they came from. Each coast had a different sound and each rapper had a unique flow that reflected his city. Today you have NY rappers sounding like Southern rappers. Hip-hop is no longer diversified, at least in the mainstream

    • @Tuelz...
      @Tuelz... ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nah he sounds like a old hater... so many dudes sounded the same back then too. He's talking about outlines. Like 2day there was outliners like KingVon and PopSmoke. In the 90s yeah there was Biggie and stuff but 90% of the rappers sounded the same.

    • @derek9153
      @derek9153 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Tuelz...”90% of the rappers sounded the same”. What? Off the top, I can name a bunch of rappers that sounded unique back then. Snoop. Dre. Tupac. Biggie. Busta Rhymes. Easy E. Bone Thugs. Twista. Biggie. Mase. Scarface. Too Short. Spice 1. MC Eiht. Jay Z. UGK. Outkast. Slick Rick. 8ball & MJG. Eminem. DJ Screw and the SUC. DMX. Nas. Method Man. ODB. Da Brat. Big Pun. Cypress Hill. I could keep going.
      With that said, I disagree that all rappers today sound the same. I 100% disagree. I think the music has actually improved in some ways. And yes, I’m an “old head”. But I have been loving hip hop since the 80’s. I also love the rap from this decade and every desde before it (except the earliest rap. I find it boring and basic).

      You out your fucking mind if you think rappers from 90s sounded the same. You can play an instrumental from a 90s rapper and determine who it is. Each coast and region had a certain cadence, sound, flow and lyric. You could distinguish West coast from east coast just on sound alone. NWA and E40 are from the same coast, yet music from Compton is different than the Bay Area. Hov and Nas came from the same streets in New York, yet you knew one from the other. The most unique is the DMV because we use gogo music spliced into rap like Wale.
      You cannot tell the difference between Uzi, Young Thug, Smokepurp, Milo's, etc. Snoop, 50 and the rest of that panel all agreed that mumble rappers all sound and rap the same,

    I was watching a video from a TH-camr named Christian Dynamo. Now this was a video he made 2 years ago. He played a song from NBA Youngboy and an artist by the name of 24K. Both of them sounded alike in both of their songs so Aries is not wrong here. Listen to the song "Panda" by Desiigner and tell me that he doesn't sound like Future. The analysis of today's "rappers" are accurate and not wrong.
    Hip Hop been in a coffin for a while now and that why labels aren't signing rappers anymore. Ebro recently came out and said that labels are gearing towards AfroBeat artists and Latin music artists. No rap song has charted this season and Lil Uzi Vert is not the "rapper" that should be having a number 1 rap album because he's not a rapper. And they sound like this everywhere now not just the south. California, New York, Midwest, everywhere sounds the same.
    DJ Vlad was born in 1973 which makes him 50. He's two years older than Aries Spears. He grew up in the golden era of Hip Hop and was old enough to witness Hip Hop going mainstream, so I don't know why he's putting on a cape for this trash, weak, corny ass era of "Hip Hop" we're living in right now. Oh I know why, he just wants that monetization TH-cam money from these new "rappers." He knows if he invites them on the views will go up and that's more monetization money. He don't want to piss them off so they won't deny his invite on his podcast.
