Your channel showed up for me when I was looking at recent flooding video in the UK. Being from New York City, I've never had any exposure to agriculture and had no idea what was involved in that work. Your videos gave me a whole new appreciation of the complexities involved with farming. Though it's unlikely I'll put the knowledge you share to good use, the way you present it is amazingly clear and you make it fascinating. You are a natural teacher and a fine ambassador for your profession. Thanks for your effort at showing us the fascinating world we all see from a distance but few understand. I'll never look at groceries on shelves quite the same way again. Wish you good weather and good luck.
Every now and then you have to get the maximum disturbance cultivators out of the nettles. Always good to keep the old equipment on the farm, it was there for a reason in the past.
Cracking update Andrew. Some off that kit a lamma is a far size now isn’t it, wouldn’t be much good down here in the west off Cornwall 😂😂 glad the weather has dried up a bit so you can get some work done finally, keep the good videos coming. 😊
Nice to see how the mapping of the fields are done Andrew, those fields will break down nicely that has been cultivated with a few more frosts on them. They are some nice plainings , will go down well when weather is bit warmer with a good roll over them.
Fascinating to see how the field mapping works. Mine was the centre line on the tractor bonnet or a bush or tree in the hedge. Nice to see some dry weather for a change
We had a superflow like that in the late 80’s I remember the biggest drawback was the shear bolt in the foot so I’m surprised it’s working that well and not breaking.
You remember well!! It’s too small and doesn’t take much breaking and it doesn’t shear clean so it’s a devil to get out. We have some spare legs so it’s easier to swap the whole leg.
Yes that’s right. I always contemplated drilling the holes out and putting in bigger bolts but I don’t think there’s enough meat around the hole to take it so they’d just rip the metal. Decent design apart from that, we use to use it as a primary cultivator mainly for osr at the time. We moved onto a Kongskilde vibroflex after that (tine not as strong though) now we have a vaderstad swift which that is just about perfect being honest.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard I would imagine we have allot in common. I won’t go on to tell you we had 3 free flows, never an 8m though. Yours must have been one of the last with the otico front roller and electric metering system- it’s actually a very rare drill not many made. We also have an RX however the 370 (we wanted the vario box I forget the proper term for it)
Remember we used to run a flat lift for really compacted ground! Knocking the roll pins out was rather painful if you missed the punch😂. Interesting how you map the the fields out and how accurate it is! Thanks Andrew 👍👍
A grant video Andrew, good that you managed to get on the Land and your house and pond look good. Have you got lots of daffodils and plants around the house. My daffodils was nearly out In bud, on Christmas Day, and up the road about 3 miles they was out in flower😊.
Some off that LAMMA machinery would struggle in the wet conditions at the moment, perhaps be better of with the old skegness ducks , RX doing a good job in the frost
Really interesting to see how you are mapping boundaries. Would also be interesting to have a look at the John Deere GPS system, what unlocks you have to have and what sort of RTK base station you are using.
Brilliant update… the field mapping was really interesting, how tech has changed farming for centimetre-level accuracy. I wonder if, at some point, a meddling EU or competition and markets body will decide that manufacturers with their own proprietary tech will need to all adopt a single cross-platform standard for field mapping and yield data software. Drone companies like DJI, manufacturers of smaller driverless machines as well as the full-size equipment makers could all benefit from being able to swap information regardless of manufacturer, unless I’m wrong and it can be done already? Surely if you’ve a Claas combine and a Deere tractor and a bit of kit from New Holland it’d be useful to be able to exchange data, and it would mean you wouldn’t have to stick to one brand of machinery?
It is a real pain that different manufacturers tech doesn’t talk to each other. Isobus is starting to change that as our new Househam sprayer with JD’s green star is starting to show.
unrelated to this weeks waffle, but interested to know if your simba solo has tines that can be lifted on the move, while the discs continue to stay in work. we have hilly ground and want to reduce the drag as we approach an incline TIA

Thank you. 👍
Nice to see RX starting to earn her living breaking the top crust letting air into sub soil
We couldn’t do some fields as they were so hard due to the soil being so wet and then freezing too much.

It’s amazing the different types of kit needed from one year to the next.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard I was going to offer you my services with my JCB 3cx but you’re more than covered with Barry 👍
I appreciate your showing the equipment. I used to be the Sales Manager for the International and Ford New Holland dealership for all Alaska 😊
Good vid Andrew , the Valtra number / horsepower is on the Crome trim around the front edge of the bonnet 😃
Great to see the machines out on the land again and things starting to dry up. 👌
Spoilsport!! I thought we would see more of the Lada dinner. All we saw was a fabulous apron!!
😂😂😂😂
Good video nice machines at Lamma, great to see tractors back in the field

Thanks for the useful video. Be happy with the development
I asked about that beast of a Valtra when I couldn't see a board , 420 HP! I had no idea they went that big......
420? Wow, I didn’t realise either.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard Yes 420! , Beast of a thing.
I asked a Valtra chap manning the stand.

We hope to put them on the lanes in May/June. 😊👍

A tree is fine in the distance u til you realise as you get nearer it turns out be a grazing horse trying to find the best bit of grass!!!
Another great video. Like to see the RX hard at work. 🚜🚜
Another really informative video spot on

Did miss Rhonda's NFU/EA update/announcement about the flooding trial thats been mentioned in one of your waffles?
She’ll do another in a week or two or when the outcome is known.
Great man wardey
Hi Andy, how is the flooding now around Bardney. ? I hope the rain forecast this week doesn`t come to much.
It’s going down but there’s still about a metre deep.
Thanks forr upload ....do you ever grow potatoes?
We stopped in 1984!
Enjoyed the video 👌

They are hydraulic so can be lifted and lowered on the move.
great update are you still pleased wih rx do you think you will get a jd combine
Yes we love it. It’ll have a lot of work to do this autumn, hope we don’t miss the 200 extra hp of the quad!
The cooking apron definitely improves your looks Andrew 😅
😂😂😂 👍
You get some special treatment from Farols! Struggle to get a hire tractor if you want to pay for it from our jd dealer 😂
You need to swap dealers!!
Love how all these you tubers film others doing the work lol and everyone one thinks they are heros .....
There’s only one person can drive!!😂😂
Is Henry's farm still flooded ?
Yes but not as bad. Will do in update from there next week.
