    We had the Salomon sales representative show us how to operate the switch binding. It was much more effective to watch how and where to place your hands to switch from one mode to an other. A video with an actual person placing their hands on the various binding parts would be 100 % better visual learning experience.

      That's awesome! Could you Telemark in the hike position? Or skate ski Nordic style? Are they strong enough? I would absolutely buy these if you could do those things.

    I've wanted to try back country skiing for years but never trusted the bindings for downhill skiing. Just bought a pair of Shift bindings, can't wait to try them.

    I have these bindings for 2 seasons. Last season I skied about 10 times. I have used them only on slopes and never used their walking function. I am about 140 pounds so I put hardly any pressure on these bindings, nevertheless the materials they used are in such a low quality that it started to break so one of my bindings now stays always on walking mode. Searching on the forums, I found several people complaining about this and it looks like this problem is common because materials are so low quality that they break down and the mechanism stops working as they suppose to.
    Because of this I faced myself in several dangerous situations where my binding toe piece just popped while skiing. I got new bindings than finding myself in unfortunate situations.
    I am really disappointed with these bindings. The compromises with the quality that Solomon has made in the production of their products in recent years makes me think about whether to buy something from them again. I like the idea behind shift bindings but I would NOT recommend it until they improve the quality. Anyway who wants to spend that much money for something that will break down in a season.

    I’m confused. Do you need touring boots with little holes for the pins or could I use my normal downhill boots?

    • @MrVictorLind
      @MrVictorLind 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You need tech touring boots if you want to use the touring mode. But if you just want to ski, you can use normal boots!

    Hello! If my ski boots are between 25/26 size, which size should I take for my new Salomon lab Shift mnc 13?
    Thanks!

    • @SalomonTV
      @SalomonTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Leonardo, thanks for your question. The sizes of the binding this does not depend on the boot size but the width of the ski. You can basically choose the break size on the binding. It is important that this is wider than the ski it self. Meaning, if you have a ski that is 90 width, you would need a binding that is 95 or wider. I hope this helps! 😄 If you have any other questions Just follow this link: www.salomon.com/

    Basically they copied the marker kingpin.

    • @SnowShackboy
      @SnowShackboy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think you might be confused. The kingpin is a great binding but definitely VERY different, in fact Marker even released an entirely new binding to compete with the Salomon Shift binding. Check out the Marker Duke PT 16 and you'll see what I mean.
