Recently came across your page. Quick question if you don’t mind taking time to answer. I just bought 12 acres of land. I need to clear off about 2-3 for a homesite. On this property is big mature red and white oaks. Instead of piling the logs up and burning them or trying to sell them for very little profit. I’ve considered buying a log splitter to cut up firewood to sell out of the branches and a sawmill to cut slabs, custom orders, dimensional oak to sell. Would you recommend this? Don’t wanna try to do it full time. Just wanna make a side business to use my oaks instead of trashing them. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
If you enjoy that type work, I would say go for it! You will definitely be able to fund your hobby that way.
Big log! nice job by everybody. Great video. Cheers!
Thanks 👍
I hope they strapped that down after they got out of camera view.
You can't compare the size of a log by Brittany's height. Brittany is short
I have just found you guys ❤very interesting 🧐 😂
All that sawing and only one shot of the grain revealed ?
I have had to use my tractor to roll some of the logs I have cut
What is the oldest log you’ve cut?😊
WOW, I’ll bet Brit was glad they were there to help! Great job guys.
wow... the wood is very antique... greetings from Indonesia
Ya i would certainly cut of the left over limbs.there ugly n going to be in the way.
We did. Extra bulk. Was hard enough to handle without them!
Put a five gallon bucket where the sawdust comes out then you don't have to shovel
You swap a shovel for a bucket. That thing has to be dumped ever 3-5 cuts.
Is that a black oak
Or a pin oak maybe?
I believe pin oak.
Water oak, willow oak or Laurel oak from the bark my guess
G'day WFS, when I get a log that's to heavy for my loader I'll drive over the bumps in the paddock and pull the raise lever back just as I roll over the top of the bump the load bounces and you can gain a some height, don't tell the dealer though 👍.
That's fast
Because your yard is so muddy I highly recommend that you order a debarker for your sawmill, your blades will last much longer.
Great job cutting that huge log ! You both deserve everthing earn . You guy certainly make a perfect team !
Thanks 👍
Looked past its prime, i guess they wanted the spalting thanks.
That’s it.
Oak is some heavy wood to play with! I know first hand. Awesome video y'all
You got that right!
@@wallacefarmandsawmill my homemade sawmill can be a challenge to say the least! 🤣
Nice video and good job. Take care and have a blessed and safe day and try to keep cool

Need to add water so we can see how pretty the grain looks.😢

Hello, Cuson. That looks like great table material to me. Just fill the voids with epoxy... CW = Chris Wallace
Thanks for watching! Your right!
Nice head shed on your 6060
I love it!
Why did he want it cut like that? I would have finished both sides instead of 1 but i guess he has a use for it.
What he wanted. Customer’s wish = my command.
8' long 34"dia. Is about 3178 lbs
Yep! Just outside my kubota’s lift range.
Sub'd
Thanks!
Struck a chord with me, have a little BX that have to wrangle the little logs that go onto the LX25; was oddly familiar to see your huge tractor have to do the same with that monster of an oak. Thanks!@@wallacefarmandsawmill
THANKS!
You're welcome!
