Undoubtedly the best eating fish in the world. Nothing better than filet of Bluegill. Yes, I have fileted and enjoyed many bream. Corn meal has always been my favorite.😊
I always fillet bream. If not big enough to fillet I let them go. I don't scrape though but fillet the skin off. Been doing thar for over 50 years as I am 64 now. Enjoy the videos ❤
Sounds like many a trip in my experience and we just kept it going on an on, successful to me, sometimes you need to flush under load to get all the debris out, made the trip, fixed the boat, caught fish, ate fish, good times! And you could all do it together
Any fishing trip you don't have to a) swim home from, b) recover a sunk truck out of the water, c) no motors got blown up - is a good one in my book! Great video and looked like you all had fun (and some tasty fish.) Cheers!
PRO-TIP.... Put the old thermostat in a pan of cold water & heat it up to see if it opens. Do this before you install a new thermostat also to make sure it works. Enjoyed the video, the fillets look great!!! 👍🏼😎
I'm 74 and as you said we use to catch nice bream and I actually use to falay them also. If you like bream this is the way. Thanks for the awesome video's, look forward to seeing them.
Tyler, a couple troubleshooting things to try next time. Place the T-stat in a pot of water to test. Another, leave the stat out for a test run. Good luck.
2 things... You can test a thermostat by heating it to it's set temp. If it opens, install it. If not, replace it. And, you live in MS, some of the best crappie fishing anywhere. Looking at your water, drop a minnow in and I bet you get bit. Really enjoy your vids kids.
Nice video . Sorry about the boat problems . I know nothing about fixing boat motors . Too bad about getting rained on , you were doing good . I do like to eat fish . Never ate brim .your son is very happy . Brit too ! God bless ….ed
Good morning from Kodiak Island Alaska I love how you do your mixture between fishing and being a Sawyer we fish up here doing a lot of trolling are premium fish is a white king salmon to you people out there that don't know what that is that is the Kobe beef wagyu of salmon the guys come in and go I got three and one of them was a white you can't tell by just looking at them you actually don't know until you cut into it in an air fryer for 8 minutes and it melts in your mouth omega-3 fatty acids Supra abundant in it
Tyler enjoy the vids , we call them bluegills in Wisconsin I bought a fry daddy at wal mart not expensive uses very little oil . We like to plug it in outside works great and eliminates any deep fryer smell in the kitchen once it cools put the cover on stick it in the fridge can use the same oil a couple times .
Check your pickups/screens down in the foot. There should be one right behind the prop. The prop should be pushing water in it while running it. Make sure nothing has them clogged
I personally have never filleted anything like that. That would be just enough fish for me, but I can eat my weight in fish. I will definitely have to try that the next time I catch some good pan size brim
I do all the fish I catch that way don't like messing with the bones. If you can find Andy's fish fry mix give it a try. I use Andy's red and Andy's Cajun mixed together also put the mix in a zip lock bag put the fish in close and shake it works great. Keep up the good video's
If I can state the obvious, keep your motor out of shallow water. You probably had sand, pebbles, etc in the impeller area that you didn't flush out when you tried it at idle speed. You can speed up your engine in neutral by pushing in on a button on your throttle control. As long as the water is coming from your hose, it's just like being in the water (almost). As long as you are getting a good stream from the back of the motor, your impeller should be ok, but if you need to replace it, it's not very difficult. Thanks for the videos - I enjoy all aspects of the Wallace farm and sawmill life.
Heck yeah we filet brim! Except we call em bluegills here in the Hoosier state. Actually, we grow trophy bluegills here at B&B Farms, with one of those B's standing for bluegills. You make it to Indiana, I'll take you guys fishing. Got some 1.5 pounders in our ponds! Great vid, and good job on the engine repair!
Oh, those rocks / sand were in the lower unit settling on the water pump. Probably a few scratches in the pump housing, I doubt anything serious. That typed WHEN you change the impeller also change the housing. They have a kit.
Hey guys ! I’ll take you bream fishing but I’m sure you don’t want to come to Australia? The bream we catch here can get to 4/5 lb I live right on the ocean side in gods country for fishing! Love you show guys never miss on ! By the way how is the bus going? Cheers 🍻stay well keep your saw sharp and your lines tight 👍🇦🇺🍻🫶
sprinkle a little Louisiana hot sauce on those filets and let them soak a few minutes before you bread them, it doesn't really add any heat but does bump up the flavor
When thermostat is closed water recycles through the engine. Removed, you don’t get water through those passages? So that is where the crud was hiding?
You can test a thermostat in a pot on the stove, and if you do that at least you will know if the thermostat is actually working or, if it your problem is that or somethng else
Guys. The Beetle Spin, 1/16th oz. Black body w/yellow stripes, Chartreuse w/black stripes, and white. Use 4lb. test line. Come off the bank 20 feet. Toss and reel slow to medium speed. Hold on. Yer welcome.
Great video guys and gals ,gals is including that little girl dog ! I would be concerned about your impeller on the water pump with that much abrasive material that has pass through your cooling system !
I fillet and skin all the fish I catch. If they aren't big enough to fillet they go back in the water. I have not eaten fish with the bones in since I was about 10 years old and they were so small we should not have brought them home. Just so you know I'm 68 y.o. now. Sunfish and crappies in all the lakes in east central Minnesota.
I will NOT say anything about wimminfolk backing up trailers ... 😁 Unfair to Brit, as she could not see the edge of the trailer because of the rear fenders of the pickup ....
Hi there guys, now that was so funny to see you guys get soaked, I love it cheers guys xxxxx
I’ve fished for every thing that swims in my 57 years but I’d have to say bream fishing is my favorite.
Never fileted a bream, and my parent's freezer used to stay full of them. But I'll try it now, years after I bream fished.
Nice little panfish fillets are second to none when it comes to flavor!!!

Very true!
Never eat fillers but yum yum!😊
The fish was definitely looking good on camera. Looks like you would need a few more fish and a couple of sides to feed all of you good.
PRO-TIP....
Put the old thermostat in a pan of cold water & heat it up to see if it opens.
Do this before you install a new thermostat also to make sure it works.
Enjoyed the video, the fillets look great!!! 👍🏼😎

Tyler, a couple troubleshooting things to try next time. Place the T-stat in a pot of water to test. Another, leave the stat out for a test run. Good luck.
If it’s a 4 stoke you can’t run without a temp stat
Great video, I fried 16 filets of flounder with the same Louisiana seasoned mix over the weekend, good eatin'.
Sounds great!
My dad used to fillet all his fish.
Love y’all’s fishing videos
More to come!

Being from Louisiana we season our fish heavy before battering. Gotta have that seasoning dude. Love filet bream as well

I enjoy your videos. I believe we call those Blu gill here in Kansas. Looks like fun fishing.
A thumps up and a like for all the effort 👍
Thanks for watching!
Look forward to trying this.
Good video. I like how you hung in there fixing your motor. Hopefully it is fixed. Stay out of the SAND! Time to go JUGGING!
Check your pickups/screens down in the foot. There should be one right behind the prop. The prop should be pushing water in it while running it. Make sure nothing has them clogged
Looked like great fun.
Good stuff guys!! Check your water pump intake screen for holes.
Love brim, shellcracker, bluegill
I personally have never filleted anything like that. That would be just enough fish for me, but I can eat my weight in fish. I will definitely have to try that the next time I catch some good pan size brim
You will love them!
I drain my fish on a wire rack over a cookie sheet lined with paper towels to absorb the oil that drips off.
Great fishing and great legs.

Sounds like you have the honey hole for blue gill. Thanks so much for watching!
Can you take the water pump off and check to see if there’s debris in the water pump housing?

Glad you have your boat problem fixed! Great video and it warms the heart to see y'all's dedication to your great family.
Just curious if you checked the water intake area for screen clog or damage?
Great video! Maybe next time you can demonstrate how to filet them.
sprinkle a little Louisiana hot sauce on those filets and let them soak a few minutes before you bread them, it doesn't really add any heat but does bump up the flavor
Thanks for the tip!
Sheila ten too
Install an after market back up camera if you don't have a factory installed one. You can get a good one for well under $99.00
Brittney is a 10! not sure about the fish 🙂
Hi, down on the bayou I don't keep baby fish.

there might be more than one direction to run water
I tried to fillet bream once, but wasn't that successful. I need practice. They are good though!

I don't know why you need a thermostat on an outboard motor in Mississippi. Leave it out.
I don’t run a thermostat need to replace the water pump Will and damage the water pump impeller the black did all Stan need the back flush
Those are bluegill
Its probaly your water pump had one did same thing.
We filet bream. Call em bream nuggets.
I will NOT say anything about wimminfolk backing up trailers ... 😁 Unfair to Brit, as she could not see the edge of the trailer because of the rear fenders of the pickup ....
Only way to cook bream. What part of Mississippi do you live in?
Hmm. I'd say this is one fishy video.😃
Tyler pumpkin seeds have a stub face
