- US President Joe Biden, under pressure from fellow Democrats to drop his re-election campaign, tested positive for COVID-19 while visiting Las Vegas on Wednesday and is self-isolating after experiencing mild symptoms, the White House said.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced the positive test for the 81-year-old Democrat after Biden cancelled a speech due to the diagnosis.
"He is vaccinated and boosted and experiencing mild symptoms,” Jean-Pierre said.

Hey, equality is absolutely fine until you start getting down to real legitimate criteria that RELIES upon male physiques and superior strength that men typically have relative to women, and then add to that a situation that has genuine REAL LIFE IMPACTS and also consequences if you don’t happen to qualify with regards to the criteria (but you ARE a woman) and that’s when “equality” goes out the window… especially if you’re the one needing to be rescued but the fire person on duty simply doesn’t have the strength or capacity to get you out of the burning building or dangerous scenario.
But rest assured that when the paperwork for the incident is completed, everyone can happily confirm there was a proportionate number of females present, or physically challenged, or short, or obese, or whatever was deemed more important than the ability to actually save lives.
I’m sure that once a policy maker is directly affected themselves by removing certain standards, and are unfortunate enough to witness firsthand the negative repercussions of straying away from sensibly set thresholds, they’ll be reinstated immediately no matter how upsetting it’ll make some people who like the idea of dressing up as a fireman but have no hope of ever being realistically capable of carrying an unconscious body away from true danger.
I’m a confident and empowered female but I recognise that PHYSICALLY the two sexes have different body plans and that some vocations do suit some people better than others. However, when gender and race is irrelevant, then in THOSE cases surely we’d be better off ignoring all pigeonholes entirely and just letting the skills and talent in the applicable /appropriate areas shine through and speak for themselves….? Surely THATS true equality - when we’re able to be blind to a persons sex (etc) as opposed to defining them within an inch of their lives…?
