What annoys me about the whole 'we're going to showcase more talent' and only then showcasing Rachel is that Mr. Schue (and others) specifically mention how talented and unique Kurt's voice is, but in performances they literally NEVER use him. He got, what, one 'solo' in ABC? The competition where Rachel wasn't even allowed to compete so it wasn't even like he got a chance over her? Smh
Allegedly, when Kurt left Mc Kinley, Will was about to give him a solo, which is super super duper mega weird, since he had never gotten a solo before. He was only in Dalton for two competitions and he was given a duet. Though that was not because of his talent, it's just because Blaine wanted to get into his pants
Their actually competition/performance outfits were pretty accurate to real show choir outfits and budget, but they had new matching costumes (so clearly not brought from home) for every song of the week? The ones that never even got performed publicly?
Another thing that always bothered me was in S1 everyone complained Rachel got every solo and was too entitled, but then whenever she was gone they acted as though they had no shot at winning and admittedly all said she was the star 😭
@@nqvsli YES!!! and even Tina! ‘Rachel is a senior. You’ll get your solos next year!’ Just for her to not have any cause they all went to the new/younger members. 😑
One of the biggest contradictions was Rachel telling Blaine he's too old to sing with The Warblers despite almost being the same age, but not saying anything when Mr 👟 would perform with ND even though he was in his late twenties/early thirties.
How about them complaining to Ms. Holiday that Mr. Schue always picks really old songs for them to sing. Cut to them choosing songs for themselves: "Jessie's Girl" (1981), "And I Am Telling You" (1981), "Fat-Bottomed Girls (1978) , "I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1964), "Ain't No Way (1964)...
@@simluv.7483 They were complaining about doing Journey songs, like "Don't Stop Believing" (1981) To me, 1981 seems like yesterday, but it was 40 years ago. (Ouch. It hurt to type that.) And 1964 was 57 years ago. I'd say that qualifies a song as old.
IRL some people are like that. They have firmly held personal beliefs but at the same time they can accommodate other people's beliefs too. It's like you invited some guests over at your house for dinner but you are aware some of them might be Muslim who don't eat pork so you cook/prepare/add some dishes that they could eat together with other guests.
The scene of Rachel and Brody with the turkey always grosses me out, if it wasn't for Kurt's comments and reactions I wouldn't even be able to stand it
That was how I always imagined it too, but then Sue in season 5 brings up the costs for the "Roar" set and the inflatable thing on Artie's chair during "Applause"... so now I'm not 100% sure
I always figured that the elaborate sets and lighting and background music was how they imagined their performances- not that they actually materialized and existed in the real world- except some of the plays where they reference that the sets actually exist. Like the umbrella/singing in the rain for example, I feel that was obviously imagination because money, but also, who would install all that and clean it up, like is the Glee club waiting for a crew to set up before they sing? and there's no way Figgins would allow all of that, especially with the later contention over that space. (although lol @glee being consistent at all) Idk, just my interpretation.
@@camilleotillio I could be wrong but I distinctly remember in one of the later episodes in s3 they actually were very meta and talked about the fact that they spend up the budget on sets..??? I gotta look for it lol and then I’ll get back w ya

For the first one - remember when the entire school got up and sang Beautiful (a song about acceptance) with Mercedes? Then everyone went back to bullying them.
The fact that most of these are Blaine 🤦♀️ he just pisses me off sometimes Blaine contradiction Anderson And yet I still love him... Damn you beautiful puppy eyed hair gelled boy

and even like that, teverybody had to audition I think. I remembered all the original member did (even if it was in groups for some). One of the only solo Quinn get was at her audition.
Am I the only remembering the reason why Shue didn't let Becky join was because it was literally right before regionals, a major completion for them? Like, I get it, everyone was welcome to join... but everyone is forgetting a critical detail of her asking, timing. Even if Becky didn't sing, it's likely she would have had issues with the choreography
End of season 3 : all the ones who graduate to the ones who stays at McKingley "this is your glee club now", and Rachel saying Tina she will be the lead. Season 4 : hello all newbies we've never heard about, who wants some solos? Don't worry, Tina and all the new people we add in season 3 won't mind.
My favorite thing about the Glee fandom was the fact that everyone knew how bad the show sucked and half the fun was bitching about everything that happened
True, but it’s just hilarious that they claim to be broke but had a whole set for rocky horror (including a freaking elevator) and they only performed it for themselves 😂
The fighting music thing was HILARIOUS!! Also, why do they always highlight Rachel? Like “Rachel, you should get all of the solos!” And if she doesn’t she throws a big tantrum. My favorite character is definitely Santana.
I assumed Brittany knew having sex would get you pregnant, but she thought the stork existed as a second option. Some people really want a baby but can't get pregnant, or haven't met the right person, or can't afford adoption, so the stork will bring them a baby. Someone told her where babies come from but they didn't tell her the stork thing isn't real
Low key convinced the behind the scenes reason Rachel got all the solos was to keep Lea Michele's ego at bay. If they'd had a different person in that role, Mercedes and Artie and Tina would've got to sing.
the no tryouts wasn't a contradiction because the tryouts happened AFTER they won nationals and decided to change to tryouts. Should've been To Becky: Sorry we're almost at nationals and it's too late. To Joe: Sure, we're almost at nationals but you won the glee project and we need to squeeze you in here somewhere so get your no shoed self up here!
I mean technically sugar, sunshine, kind of Sam (billionaire)and Blaine (it’s not unusual) did tryout and that was after the nationals where they didn’t even place.
The one that’s always stuck with me and I rarely see mentioned is that we have two different backstories about Sue’s hair. The Madonna bleach story, and that one about how she used to be girly but male students made fun of her so she cut her hair and wore track suits instead
3:05 that makes sense when you remember he put on a big preformamce to a guy in public and got rejected on Valentine's day so he would be bitter after the whole debacle. 3:28 also makes sense when you remember how self centered Jesse is. The rest are.. well, you can't argue with the rest but IT'S MY MESS, OKAY? EDIT: 5:25 that was after they won nationals and everyone wanted to be in the club
Dude not to mention coach Beiste (idk if that’s spelled correctly 😬) having a whole emotional moment about wanting to be seen as pretty in an earlier season and then coming out as a trans dude??????? Please someone explain to me
Right? It bothered me so much after they went through the whole “i may be butch, but I’m still a woman” thing and then decided actually nope, they’re trans now. They could have handled it so much better, like perhaps one of the other teachers could have been a very passing trans person who got outed and had to deal with suddenly everyone treating them differently after finding out, even though their gender expression hadn’t changed
@@marcosv.r5261 no the actor is not trans. I remember I thought that too but I looked it up and nope. She’s a cis woman. Ryan Murphy was just like hey let’s throw this half assed trans representation in at the literal last second for brownie points
Ooh don't forget that time in one of the early seasons, maybe s2, when Mr. Shue is like "guys you need to treat the girls better, frankly so do I" and later proceeds to suspend Marley from the glee club for not wearing a seashell bikini without even getting her side of the story
The rules/format for nationals changed all the time. I remember thinking each season “hey that wasn’t a thing last time” but the biggest one that stuck out to me was that in season two the glee club had to make top 10 to advance to the final round and they didn’t. But every year after that there’s no second round? They just compete and win out of 50. Unless I misunderstood or misremembered but there was definitely something with the top 10.
I gaslighted myself into thinking all those elaborate set for their performance where like on their imagination (except for when they have to do the school musical), until season 5 when Sue says to Will the club ran out of money because they wasted on those elaborate sets...
Ah yes, the writers changing everything in every episode for the sake of moving the plot. Sometimes I wish I could self insert myself into Glee and call out all of this inconsistency
I know that Lea was Ryan Murphy's favorite (and it shows) but still it was so annoying that they kept this "Rachel is so special" thing when you have MERCEDES in the same room
yes and they constantly said how rachel was “the most talented person that the rest of glee looks up to” but Mercedes was so much better and also sings more effortlessly (meanwhile rachel/lea opens her mouth so much it looks like her jaw is gonna pop)
The worst thing was constantly forgetting how many siblings people had and making up that someone had a brother and then suddenly a season later they were an only child? It happened to Miss Pillsbury a few times
The 'we are broke' has me dead! As far as i remember, McKinney was a public highschool and did that kind of plays? I went to a private school and everything was made of paper. Lol
Glee is a mess, but Blaine stopped liking the valentines gift cause he got rejected by the guy he liked. So now he is not so much a fan of Valentine’s Day x
I would love it if one of these shows/movies would depict high school theater looking like it actually looks. Unless your school is incredibly rich, I don't wanna see those fancy light shows and elaborate costumes.
Don't forget the school shooting episode. It felt like it didn't happen at all, which is strange because how traumatic that must have been. They could've made a storyline out of it but the potential was wasted and everyone was singing happily once again. Plus Marley's eating disorder. Another great plot potential, but it was all forgotten.

The club and the show gravitated around Rachel even though everyone else involved disliked this.
Mr Shue: “Glee is broke.”
Also Mr Shue: Puts on huge elaborate performances every week for no one but himself.
RIGHT LIKE THAT ONE TIME WHEN MERCEDES WANTED TO SING
@@cv8499 I mean technically I guess those songs aren’t old, but to teenage students they probably are.
@@cv8499 Yeah I’m only 16 and I don’t think the 80s are that long ago, but some teenagers do 🤷🏿♀️. You’re not old you’re in your prime! ☺️

Rachel being vegan and then cooking duck in s4/5 always gets me
she must've found out Finn accidentally fed her meat and just embraced it lol
IRL some people are like that. They have firmly held personal beliefs but at the same time they can accommodate other people's beliefs too.
It's like you invited some guests over at your house for dinner but you are aware some of them might be Muslim who don't eat pork so you cook/prepare/add some dishes that they could eat together with other guests.
The scene of Rachel and Brody with the turkey always grosses me out, if it wasn't for Kurt's comments and reactions I wouldn't even be able to stand it
We all know Finn deserved that slap

@@jessicamarshall1975 And Rachel got away scot-free!
@Shreya Pawar when did she try to out Kurt? Honestly don’t remember that and it’s not on google or TH-cam.
for me, all the high-budget performances happened in their imagination 💀
That was how I always imagined it too, but then Sue in season 5 brings up the costs for the "Roar" set and the inflatable thing on Artie's chair during "Applause"... so now I'm not 100% sure
RIGHT WHAT HAPPENED TO THE “WERE BROKE AS HELL” STORY LINE😭😭
Plot convenience
I always figured that the elaborate sets and lighting and background music was how they imagined their performances- not that they actually materialized and existed in the real world- except some of the plays where they reference that the sets actually exist. Like the umbrella/singing in the rain for example, I feel that was obviously imagination because money, but also, who would install all that and clean it up, like is the Glee club waiting for a crew to set up before they sing? and there's no way Figgins would allow all of that, especially with the later contention over that space. (although lol @glee being consistent at all)
Idk, just my interpretation.

I didn’t think any of those writers even understood the concept of continuity beside mr 👟 being a constant creep
And, of course, she couldn't figure it out for herself
Low key convinced the behind the scenes reason Rachel got all the solos was to keep Lea Michele's ego at bay. If they'd had a different person in that role, Mercedes and Artie and Tina would've got to sing.

All of the inconsistencies about the Glee club’s budget could be their own video honestly, there’s too many
The one that’s always stuck with me and I rarely see mentioned is that we have two different backstories about Sue’s hair. The Madonna bleach story, and that one about how she used to be girly but male students made fun of her so she cut her hair and wore track suits instead
honestly, glee is one of the most confusing and cringe shows I've ever watched yet I love it so much

3:05 that makes sense when you remember he put on a big preformamce to a guy in public and got rejected on Valentine's day so he would be bitter after the whole debacle.

When Blaine talked to Crawford girls
I loved the early seasons of Glee where the solos were more spread out then it became the Rachel and Blaine show.
Dude not to mention coach Beiste (idk if that’s spelled correctly 😬) having a whole emotional moment about wanting to be seen as pretty in an earlier season and then coming out as a trans dude??????? Please someone explain to me
ikr i was so happy about her accepting herself and being a gorgeous strong woman who loves how she is and then season six hit
Exactly!

No cause I’d be annoyed too if kids just started randomly singing with no music in the hallways, libraries, bathrooms, et cetra
Mr. Schue DARES turn Becky away because they’re too close to nationals but they didn’t even have their nationals songs WRITTEN UNTIL THE DAY. BEFORE.
I gaslighted myself into thinking all those elaborate set for their performance where like on their imagination (except for when they have to do the school musical), until season 5 when Sue says to Will the club ran out of money because they wasted on those elaborate sets...
Lmao same I always thought it was just their imagination but then Sue called them out.. which means it was real💀😂

The budget one always gets me💀😂
I know that Lea was Ryan Murphy's favorite (and it shows) but still it was so annoying that they kept this "Rachel is so special" thing when you have MERCEDES in the same room
yes and they constantly said how rachel was “the most talented person that the rest of glee looks up to” but Mercedes was so much better and also sings more effortlessly (meanwhile rachel/lea opens her mouth so much it looks like her jaw is gonna pop)
Lol

At least for Season 3 we know where money came from... Sugar!
I would love it if one of these shows/movies would depict high school theater looking like it actually looks. Unless your school is incredibly rich, I don't wanna see those fancy light shows and elaborate costumes.
the funniest moment was the first christmas, i think, where they had a poor christmas tree and puck stole empty boxes from the mall to put under it
Don't forget the school shooting episode. It felt like it didn't happen at all, which is strange because how traumatic that must have been. They could've made a storyline out of it but the potential was wasted and everyone was singing happily once again.
Plus Marley's eating disorder. Another great plot potential, but it was all forgotten.
Let's be honest the Blaine one was because he doesn't know how to take a heartbeat
