This was a great video. I do try not to abuse service time too much - I remember seeing someone on the OOTP Discord that talked about gaming the system to insane levels by only calling up Nate Pearson every five days for his start then sending him back down.

      Thanks, William.
I game service time as much as MLB teams do it to get that extra year of team control. Once that clock starts, I’m not sure there’s an advantage to only calling up someone when they start but the contract rules can be complicated so maybe I’m missing something.

@@OOTPaddy I believe it works the same whether someone's made their debut or not. If you send someone back down to the minors, I don't think they get service time for that time in the minors, even though they have some major league service time. In real life if you call someone up to the majors or send them to the minors there's a minimum time (I think 10 days) they have to spend at that level, presumably to prevent the Pearson thing.

Yikes! That’s way too much for a RP

So if you sign a player to a 1-y deal going into arbitration and still have 2-3 yaesr left on that he isn't a FA the year after then ?. I see you got those players signed up for coming year, but the next years they are still on arbitration salaries. Then if they are busts you could get them back on arbitration, if so selected. This arbitration is sure confusing. THANKS for these videos on the tougher stuff in baseball.

Correct, signing a player to a contract doesn't impact the number of years he's still arbitration eligible.
