Great, thorough, and in-depth video on HERO! As a company, we truly appreciate the effort you put into this testing. This video has confirmed the 5% of feedback we’ve received regarding areas for improvement, specifically in cleaning power and lubrication. We're actively working on these enhancements and would love to include you in testing our next revision, if you're open to it! Your feedback would be invaluable. When we first launched HERO, we weren’t heavily focused on rinseless washing, which made it challenging to develop without a deep understanding of other products and processes. Eddie Colon's input was instrumental in shaping HERO into what it is today, but certain nuances went unnoticed due to differences in his environment. Just yesterday, we spent a full day testing five of the top rinseless washes in our own environment. Interestingly, we found very little difference in cleaning power among them. The biggest variations were in how they dried, their slickness, and how some left behind surfactant or polymer spots, which can be frustrating to remove if allowed to dry. We really appreciate you creating this video and validating the small amount of feedback we’ve received, because it's hard to replicate it here for us. Your insights will help us keep pushing to make HERO the best rinseless wash on the market! After further review of some of your other Rinseless review videos, it gives me a clear picture of where HERO stacks up against others, it still seems its very good, but requires some further changes to make top shelf. We are up for the challenge here.
One question I have, in your testing has there been any Rinseless at any dilution where the plexi panel has not marred with the microfiber or clay media? From watching your other reviews it seems like, no? Maybe it’s worth switching to painted panels for a more accurate representation of it being used on car. The plexi almost provides a false sense that all of these products will marr your car when used with a microfiber or clay media. Just my two cents on the testing!
Thank you for watching and thank you for being open to constructive feedback. I can tell you are a very passionate company that really cares about their products and customers . You definitely have something good going on here and I hope you get to the point of being “the best” ! I am looking forward to test more of your products down the road. Keep up the great work and thanks for all your time considering my recommendations.
Plexiglass is the standard when it comes to marring testing. Paint is very difficult to gauge and stay consistent. There are too many types of paints and clear coat hardness thickness etc. Plus you need a microscope because the marring is definitely there but sometimes not visible with the naked eye. Hope this clarifies. So in layman’s terms if it scratches plexiglass it will scratch paint.
@@DetailProjectsI actually think it’s better to leave it plexiglass, and I don’t think marring the plexiglass should be taken as a con. I see it as a gauge. Your plexiglass technique is great because side by side, it allows you to observe how much marring occurs. If one chemical shows more marring than another on the same substrate, then you have evidence of less efficient lubrication/encapsulation. If rinseless chemicals get so slick that they no longer marr the plexiglass, you’ll need to find a softer material to keep conducting this test!
Excellent review, good job on pointing out its faults. Not every product is GOAT'ed and that's OK to say. Getting really tired of these other youtubers saying every product they test is the best on the market.
@@Matthew-2206 oh ethos deffff a top 1. I think Ethos is a great all arounder as well. That’s a tough question but I’ll save that answer for a video lol 😅
Fore sure, on the other hand the encapsulation test is quite questionable.. The other testing methods seems to be very applicable ! After all, good video.
Great review. I have never liked 256:1 ratio for any rinseless washing. It never feels lubricating enough…none of them. One ounce per gallon is the sweet spot for contact washing, cleans better, more slickness, and appears safer.
I agree, all RW will clean however not all RW are built equal, and this is why it’s important to experiment for yourself to find the sweet spot. You will notice huge differences between them at different dilution ratios and what you need to prioritize is achieving the best user experience while maintaining safety.
Great review and also great recommendations to Armour Detail on improving their formulation. User's can always provide the best recommendations to the manufacturers on how a product can be improved.
A lot of people can’t get around using a rinse-less sponge. But in reality they’re safer than using a chenille mitt with rinse-less. Noticed how you get marring with the mitt and not the sponge. Granted marring can occur with both, but less likely so with rinse-less.
Damn bro I haven’t heard a single person say HERO isn’t one of the best smelling products on the market. Solid video but I would have liked to see you add more HERO during the emulsification test to the cup after the ONR to see if it continued to clear up the water. I’m sure you’re already working on it but I look forward to a points system at the end of your Rinseless Wash testing giving us a 1st 2nd and 3rd placing overall.
Thanks bro, For the encapsulation I wanted to be fair and use the 256:1 ratio to be more realistic. In terms of the smell, there must be something going on with their batch because it definitely does not smell like strawberry kiwi
@@DetailProjects The last batch of HERO made with strawberry kiwi scent, the manufacture provided us with a funky batch which turned a little "sour" many weeks after making. All current bottles on hand (over 200 gallons of product) were disposed of, and all future batches are now made with a Strawberry Lemonade scent from another manufacturer that we tested to be more stable.
Just grabbed a bottle of ONR v5 to try again after watching your videos. Your take on most other rinseless washes just being diluted APCs, soaps, or loaded with additives like PDMS for slickness and drying really opened my eyes-it’s mostly hype. I even checked the SDS's of my favorite brands, and you’re absolutely right. ONR stands out as the purest, safest option. We've been brainwashed from YT that we need that slickness and clean wash media. I’d rather go with something that uses safe ingredients and effective science over extra chemicals for minor user perks that don’t really matter in the end. I’m all about results with safe chemicals-thank you!
You can’t go wrong with safe practices ( using multiple towels) and safe products. Everyone is focused on the wrong characteristics of RW,like “cleaning power”of course an APC will clean your mitt! but nobody talks about leaving APC surfactants on your paint is far more damaging. You think YT brainwashed you on RWs, they did the same with ceramic coatings too. Trust me!
Is the cap on the 16oz bottle considered half an ounce? So 2 caps per 2 gallons? I noticed the cap size is like 98..maybe 99% close in size to Absolute.
Are you sure the SDS info you are talking about are actually things they just didn’t bother with vs don’t apply? Their products are very safe, and the owners are very responsive and quite transparent if you have any questions or concerns. There are many large companies that have SDS sheets ‘lacking’ similar info. I’m not sure what is required for them to complete. But if there aren’t hazardous ingredients in it then there won’t be much info. Second I am surprised you don’t like the scent. It is one of the best smelling rinseless washes I think. It’s a strawberry scent. I think they are updating the scent though soon, so it’s possible yours is off and would make sense why they are revising it if there is a scent issue.
SDS sheets section 9 and 11 are typically filled out with information from well established companies that actually do testing with their products. That’s how you tell a company actually spends money on R&D for your safety. Most companies especially new will either not have the funds or resources to do so and they simply don’t fill the data. That’s a risk for you the consumer to find out the hard way. They pretty much say you , use at your own risk. IMO companies need to be held accountable and must to proper R&D for the customer safety. If you are ok with taking someone word for it until someone get hurt, good on you, however from a professional pov, I would hate to use a product with no information and potentially damage a customer car or put my staff safety at risk because of the lack of information. Btw 99% of people don’t even read or care to read SDS to find out what they are working with. It’s actually scary when you know for a fact how dangerous chemicals are. We see people not even using gloves when Rinseless washing?
@@DetailProjects We can assure you, safety for you and the vehicle are at the forefront of our development. We actively have to pull formula's back in terms of performance due to this, and we test other companies formulas that are actually not even close to what is claimed on the SDS. Like you said, there's lots of sketchy trickery that can go on with SDS to make it seem safe, when it is in fact not.
I think SDS are overlooked and under rated giving companies (not all) the opportunity to leave out lots of information. I am happy you recognize this and are working hard in every aspect of your business growth to be transparent. The community really needs more of this !
@@DetailProjectsYes, it's concerning how unconcerned most detailing enthusiast are about their health with regards to the safety of products and using PPE. I think you are the only reviewer I've seen who talks about the SDS. Generally, I try to only use EPA Safer Choice products for cleaning my home but there are virtually none for detailing unfortunately.
when is the ONR review coming out? I hope it is the next one in this rinseless wash series. I would like to see how good it is at removing dirt from the wash media compared to other rinseless washes you have tested
If you know how to properly wash a vehicle especially with ANY RW, You should never re introduce your wash medium to your solution, period! Not sure why this test is so important?
@DetailProjects Yes, maybe this test isn’t necessary. However, with ONR, the recommended wash media is a single unit of BRS as per Optimum’s guidelines. It would be interesting to see if there’s any marring on the plexiglass with this setup compared to other rinseless washes which advertise better cleaning of the wash media. Also, I think the test should involve dirty water from the middle of a wash process to prevent the chemical from allowing the dirt to settle too much if that is a thing
I agree, it’s going to be interesting for sure All my RW tests will include a before and after scratch test with clean and dirty water just like we saw in the hero video.
I also don't think the scent is that good. I have read others share that it is terrific but I'm not a fan. Fortunately it is very mild so not a big deal.
