I enjoy channels that lean into the creativity of makeup. I know how to apply my makeup,so I don't necessarily need a tutorial, and I can only afford so much *new*...but I want to break rules and be inspired. A lot of the fun of makeup has been lost with most makeup channels. This video was super 💚

That was a great idea. I completely agree that beauty videos have shifted from creative how-to’s and a learning focus to a consumer focus. Monetizing social media was only going to lead to this kind of content.

Sarah Renae Clark does have a TH-cam channel. She began doing adult coloring & designing coloring planners (which are super cute) which is why she designed the color cubes. They’re meant to help people get inspired or find a palette that’s cohesive when they don’t feel confident to do it themselves or simply don’t have the energy. Lately she’s been branching out more and more & getting into painting, mixed media, and more. Her energy is awesome. I definitely recommend folks who love color and love learning check her out.
And I def don’t watch most of the YT I used to watch. Most of the makeup YTers I used to watch do other things now that I actually enjoy more? Most have gotten into books or art.
I haven’t been watching beauty or fashion content as much as I used to because I don’t have the $ to buy new things. I appreciate the makeup tutorials because they give me inspiration to use what I have.

I don't think I'll ever stop watching makeup videos. I still especially love full face of first impressions. But I do love watching your looks. I've said it before but I don't even do colorful looks like you do. I get that itch scratched by watching you. Plus I just enjoy you as a person! 💜
I subscribed because of palette bingos and challenges--excuses to see you use your creativity because you do makeup like no one else. I like your reviews too, especially multi-look reviews, but I definitely want to see more stuff like this!!!

I love this🎉 Yes to the colour cube/inspo content. I love a good old sit down with my palettes and have a creation session. It's nice having content to watch that isn't the new 'new'. I'm not from that states so can't get hold of most of the reviewed products I watch. I'd much rather be watching content I can apply to my makeup and therefore my face! 😂 🎉 ❤

This is the type of eyeshadow look I would watch you make come together some years ago and I would be amazed at the end results because a brand will release a palette and you would create two looks using just about all the shades in a palette. Love the creativity.
I've more switched to the makeup panning side of beauty YT now because I don't want to keep consuming so much. I LOVE makeup challenge, makeup playtime type videos because I don't need tutorials for the most part nowadays being 11 years into bold makeup BUT challenges are perfect!

i watched a lot of makeup contet but not souch anymore for like half a year or so because i caught myself watching more and more videos of new releases and wanting to buy everything so i stopped watching that all the time. I only watch reviews now
But i did found an hobby and interest of mine through watching videos here, it is video games specifically Legend of zelda content. I enjoy it and it makes me happ,. I also like to watch documentary on film theories or about animals like dinos and such
Its just better for my wellbeing sometimes❤
I love watching a variety of content. How to's to what's new. Home repair, ballet. Real estate, crotchet, sewing. Really depends on my mood. I tend to binge watch content.
We are on the exact same wavelength with everything right now! Watching commentary content, wanting to do fashion content, and not feeling inspired by makeup!

I was actually happy to see your post pop up, everyone seems to be switching to the new 'no make-up look' and although its what we often use for dayly looks, that is Not what I come to see on YT!!! I come to see an exotic, bright, daring coloured eye, usually one I'm too chicken to wear myself, but if I was young, I'd be banging it on!!❤❤❤

Ive done something similar before, i would Google something like "winter colors" and it would show a winter scene with a color palette below.. it was pretty fun to do

Gorgeous look it's good to see you doing more colorful looks. I've been watching you, Angelica, Batty Bean and Robert Welsh since 2019. Once in awhile I'll watch someone else but I always stick with my core group
I absolutely love your content and I definitely prefer make tutorials. I would love to see more of these videos as well!! ❤❤ Over the past few years, I have definitely shifted away from the content creators I used to watch, mainly because my interests changed.
I actually went through my list of who I was subscribed to a few days ago, and I noticed a lot of the content creators that I used to watch don’t make videos anymore or they switched to lifestyle content, which isn’t my cup of tea, so I unsubscribed.
I used to be a 100% team neutral girl, so I only watched contact creators that did neutral looks, although I appreciated those who did colorful looks well.
However, three years ago, I started diving into color, eyeshadows and looking for amazing creators like yourself, and I haven’t looked back!
Love this video. Please make this a series. I miss palette bingos and actively look for creators and videos that do them. So much fun! I think club nebula would have been a good palette to use. ❤️xxx

Excellent idea using the cards as a challenge over palette bingo. Bingo can be fun, but I really enjoyed this!!! I'm all for more! The look you created is stunning! The shimmers are the best!! I have to agree with you on a shimmer look over an all matte look. They always look like they are missing something.
I also follow your fashion channel. The shop with me videos are very helpful. And the ones where you recreate an outfit.
Keep doing what you do. As we all know, trends change, and they say people aren't using much eyeshadow right now, but a lot of people are still very much into eyeshadow tutorials, and the good tutorials are not easy to find.
I've been watching the same channels for years. I have also added channels to my watch list. Like fashion channels though I don't have to many of those. I've really enjoyed Anna Reid's channel. She's very inspiring. Plus she's one of the girls. Down to earth and has a great sense of humor. She also can laugh at herself 😂. Check her out. I think you might enjoy her content.
I've just started watching fragrance channels as well. I'm learning quite a bit and have added to my collection. Leah Jenea and Lauren Mae are fantastic channels to watch. And of course Michele Wang and Samantha March ❤.
I hope things start getting easier for you! My sister in law just went through a divorce last year after 41 years of marriage! She was blindsided out of the blue one day, and he decided he wanted to just move on 🤷♀️😢!!!

I have a colour wheel for my artwork. I use the same theory on the wheel. It is similar to what you have but in a smaller size. They are inexpensive and so useful. I still watch tutorials for inspirational ideas. I am so obsessed. I am on a no buy for eye palettes. Maybe one or 2 special ones, but I have so many palettes and don't need more. 😂 ❤😊
Im glad this video popped up cause this since June the Cubes has been in my FYUP, i just wish she has a smaller version because in her original video when she first started selling it was smaller.

I have definitely evolved in what I watch - you're pretty much the only makeup content that I still watch on the reg but there's just so much content out there, ya know? I went on a beauty content hiatus for 2-3 years. When I came back last year, I narrowed down what and who I'm watching. For beauty, I watch you 😉, Angelica Nyqvist, Allie Dawson, Tati Westbrook, Tarababyz, Kackie Reviews Makeup, Jen Luv, and Kelly Gooch.
I used to watch every video from these and other creators. Tarababyz is the only one I watch every video. Kelly Gooch and I don't have the same makeup aesthetic, but I enjoy her "Makeup Musings." Both of these ladies have dry skin as do I.
For more makeup news and notifications about sales, I watchJen Luv.
For color cosmetics, I watch you, Angelica Nyqvist, and Ally Dawson. I watch every video involving Blend Bunny, Glamlite, and Juvia's Place. My makeup aesthetic is similar to you three.
For color theory and other science of application of makeup, I watch Kackie Reviews Makeup.
For the joy of watching her pleasure in playing with makeup, I watch Tati Westbrook.

I love this color cube idea too! Nd your eye look turned out so beautiful. I'm still watching the same ppl I have been watching for years. Maybe added a few more, but I never stopped watching my colorful queens🫶 I feel like maybe more ppl have shifted to watching short form content like tiktok & youtube shorts. I guess they got too lazy to watch an entire video. Which I do sometimes watch shorts & tiktoks as well, but I always still watch & prefer full videos from my faves. I hope you're doing well Annette. I do my best to watch all the makeup videos you put out here along with the other people that I've followed for some time now but I have been going through some mental health issues that took me away from makeup. So I've been doing a lot of catch-up over the past few months. But there a 2 distinct types of videos I watch on TH-cam, food - how to's and makeup tutorials - mostly to try and get some inspiration and get my mojo back

I watch the same beauty youtubers (coincidentally 3 ladies with A and then Milly 😅), because I like you for all for you. And I'm also not ino the news and such, I just want to laugh at Angie roasting them😂. But I do love the creativity part of it because that is make upo for me as well, it's an art form and most days I'm too lazy for make up anyway. Drama - get the hell away from me. Thoughtful commentary or more like a bit of chatty grwm - yes, but I guess also because I watch the channels I watch for the creators themselves. I think the Ugly palette from Likely Makeup may have been perfect for this color story.
I love watching content about small indie brands, especially when it comes to eyeshadow palettes.
I do watch a few of the creators that I've watched from the start. I took a break from TH-cam, and unsubscribed for awhile, because I heard that it's better for the content creator to not have subscribers that aren't watching.
I have been asking so many content creators if they could do more challenges. Like any creative challenge. For example making an eyeshadow look based on a character, and the character being picked from a random generator.
Like I don't care if you use old products or not (it could even be made as a challenge around the new palettes, to test out how versatile they are, for example in the random generator pick the shades I use, that way we can see if the shades goes well together, even when the color combos isn't what we usually would do)
And it doesn't even have to be difficult, like an artwork on your eyes (I would actually prefer if it wasn't, because then it could inspire me to try the same)
Just some challenge that test your creativity, and makes the brain work❤
And also, I only buy color things... Like my base products have been the same for years, and probably won't change. But I can always buy more eyeshadow (even though I have way too much already, like influencer amount), it's the only thing that pulls me in

Theyre so cool, i get so inspired every time i look at them, and some of the color combos are so unique and interesting. Its super well made and great quality as well!
That's good to know as they aren't cheap but I feel like they would really ignite the inspiration in me again ans I love the idea of finding the ideal colour in my palettes.

PLouise and Mac paint pot are my ultimate fave eyeshadow primers, I've tried so many different brands/products but I always end up going back to those 2 because they are guaranteed to give me the best payoff/outcome that actually lasts xx

I LOVE your tutorials and reviews. I'm not into most of the new releases, unless they're eyeshadow. And there's a few I wouldn't mind getting.
I do know know what wasted make up looks are I live in the country and do my make up everyday regardless if I go anywhere or not❤😂 I just got my blends and ellis atlantis this last payday I love them and every shade is unique there were 2 that were very cl9se but all are different tones n hues n undertones

I started watching Joe Santagato on TH-cam and i do still watch him (comedy) then Taylor Wynn, i still watch her even though her content really changed. You and Angelica i found fairly early and i still watch both of you. Idk who else I've been watching since 2019. Joe i started watching much much earlier but i didn't watch anything else lol
I really think makeup tutorials are going to do a full circle , hopefully so those subscribers and views might just come back.
I just don't know how most can be trusted on the other platforms , many are chasing the quick buck and what goodies they can get for free . Not really any concern about their influence and honesty they have to their audience and the younger audience believe everything they see . It's a scary time .
