You’re absolutely right, it was the right time to do it as most everything was dormant. Looking forward to the autumn again to be able to get a bit more done. ❤️
Don't think any of it's boring, I can watch you pair all day, just to see the progress makes it worthwhile, although I do understand why you are doing it.
Hi guys, I'm so glad you have returned. It makes sense to work on the outbuilding in the warm weather to establish a proper workshop & storage area so that you can focus on inside work in the winter. Looking forward to following along.
Hi John, thank you and we hope you are well. As you know it was always the plan to have that building as the workshop but something just didn't want it to happen. We hoped the gable would last the winter and storms so now it is time to start repairing the rest. We don't think it would have lasted the winter even if the roof hadn't have collapsed. Fingers crossed things on the house can start to move forward now the weather is warming up and we can have doors and windows open. Thank you as always :-)
Hi Dawn and Ben, so good to hear that you had an enjoyable break and managed to hook up with family and friends across the water. good to see you back too, buzzing with plans and relishing the challenges ahead. Once a week is enough to cope with on a regular basis and I'm sure that when you get to jobs such as the workshop rebuild, you will be excited to share the progress. Really strange, as we don't know you, but you feel like friends and we like to share in those moments that bring you such joy. Welcome back, looking forward to Saturday here :)
Good evening Ellen, how are you? We had the first week quite well planned, although like we said, we couldn't tell everyone we weren't going to be here for a week. The first 3 days relaxing, we really did relax. The few little jobs with did was nice, nothing much but made a lovely change from full steam ahead. Then we shot off to England for 6 days and a wedding. Getting back we have just done more bits, some much needed tidying, a bit of plumbing and a bit of digging maybe haha. One a week will let us finish the bits that need finishing without people getting bored of the same old stuff 3 days a week. Then like you say, we can show more of what we are doing on one video like we used to maybe two if it gets really exciting haha. We know exactly what you mean with not knowing you but feeling like friends. I think we will need more than a week to visit you all though haha. Thank you for the welcome back and yes, we will see you Saturday :-)
Good evening Barbara. Yes, it does appear to work like that. We are thrilled with how two of the apple trees have burst in to life but the wind swept apple tree isn't looking very happy. We will see what happens with it though. Thank you for watching and commenting this evening :-)
Welcome back home Dawn and Ben! You have been missed and am delighted with the update and very pleased that you are prioritizing your own mental health over other things!!! There has been such a change in the plantings while you have been away and I am looking forward to seeing what the next month has in store. While I will miss the frequency of your vlogs, Saturdays will be a red letter day in my week going forward. Oh, maybe pruning the one apple tree that has almost no new growth would be good in giving the rest of the tree the nourishment it needs to grow even better than it is now. Again welcome back and see you both on Saturday!
Hi Cristy how are you? Going to one a week just stops projects that take a long time being over 3 or more videos of all the same thing. So hopefully we can show more of what we are doing that week. We may do more when we think people will be interested but one a week for now should let us catch up with finishing bits off that need finishing without being boring. We are not sure if to wait to prune the trees or do it now as they are quite big limbs. A google will be required haha. We will see you Saturday and thank you as always :-)
Thank you for the walk around the garden. It just looks wonderful. Those trees......it is like night and day, and here they are blooming now. What a great job you did. And, a mink for crying out loud! What a wonderful neighbor you have. You had a warm house to come home to. See you Saturday. Will miss seeing all your "boring" work, but must needs. Once a week will be a good update anyway. All the best from Idaho.
You are welcome Bobbie. We said it would be a two week break so coming back with a full on working video wouldn't have been a rest so we just did a bit of this and that, no camera's and just relaxed. We just thought it would be nice to walk around and chat about a couple of our next steps we will be taking. "Boring" oh sometimes it is, he digging, raking and so on is sooooo boring haha. It will be nice when all done but we can't keep boring you all too, it isn't fair. See you soon, Saturday. And thank you so much Bobbie :-)
maybe the old course way/mini pond may have been an original water well that's been blocked up? does look like it will be a lovely feature, though do put a free flow outlet on the back end so it keeps draining out to the ditch looking great everywhere now; give it all some breathing space for a few months thanx for sharing
It does look like it may have been a well, but I would imagine with it being so close to the waste gulley that comes from the outbuilding that it might not have been a well, but we’re not 100% sure about that. When life settles down and we have a bit more free time we will definitely investigate that further though.
I was so glad to see your video. Sounds like you had a lovely two weeks. I myself am at the seaside on vacation, so, I’m watching your video earlier than usual. I can say I enjoy all your vids, but will wait eagerly for Saturday…even if you think they are a bit boring. Glad you’re back!
We really did have a lovely couple of weeks, lovely to see the families and also lovely to just do little bits and pieces once we were back home. Oh how lovely being at the seaside for your holidays! How’s the temperature going there now? Hope you have a lovely holiday and see you Saturday! We’re very glad you enjoy the videos, I think we always get a little conscious of people watching them finding it boring when we do that same thing over and over. We’ve had a couple of comments with the stuff we’ve done on the land being a waste of time when we have lots to do in the house and we could have done it a lot quicker with a digger. It’s hard not to take these things to heart lol. But having said that….people like you make it a lot nicer to do TH-cam than the not so nice comments. So thank you, not only for liking us and our videos but also for saying so too. Have a lovely holiday. 😘
Thank you Joyce, we do try lol. Seriously though we do genuinely enjoy pretty much all of it, just living here is enough to make us smile. Although having said that…the digging wasn’t the most enjoyable thing towards the end 😂
Thank you so much Rebecca. We look around and forget the things we have done, the things like needing to sort the water, some form of electric, sleeping in a tent for three months and so on. We will get it all done in the end. We are happy, comfortable and don't have any deadlines. We can take our time with it all, and we certainly need it as we are still learning. Thank you as always Rebecca for watching and commenting :-)
It is nice to be home Rob but we did have a lovely time with my family and the wedding and then down to everyone down there with you for a few days. It was sad coming away from everyone over there but it is nice to be in our own bed again :-) Now the weather is changing for the better, hopefully we can get a move on with this list of jobs. But where is the rush :-)
Welcome back!! We’ve missed you but so glad that you had some well deserved restful time off!! And you’ve even gotten back to work!!! Everything looks so wonderful and green! And that tree? The apple? It’s got such personality! Can’t wait to see what you start next!! 😊 See you next time! Happy May!!
Thank you. We thoroughly enjoyed our little break away and a relax when we got back. Now back to it and with plans this time. We all know how our plans go though haha. We are really pleased with the hobbit hole apple tree, it looks amazing. The tall one is hanging in there and the wind swept one just looks grumpy. Whatever we start next won't involve weeks and weeks of digging :-) Oooh Happy May, I like it :-) Thank you Josefina, as always :-)
Welcome back. Ahh, the delights of Manchester Airport, probably the UK's worst! Shame you didn't get time to visit us, next time though. You both look really well, the break has done you good. The gardens are looking great, what a transformation. Looking forward to the drone footage, and I want to see where the ditches flow in to, is it a lake or river?
Hi Kath, I don't think we had time to sit down for too long but the break was lovely. We had loads of people on our list to visit and got to see three lol. The unexpected diversion wasn't great as it took an extra 5 hours on the train, it was fairly effortless though, we saw Manchester from the airport to the train station and must say it was clearly signposted and an easy walk. I wasn't a fan of the walking though haha. I missed the sunny weather for the drone but it is due up asap :-) Thank you as always Kath.
Hello! Welcome back. Sounds like you have some good plans in store for us to watch. I’m quite happy to see you work on that outbuilding, I think it will be very interesting to see how you go about it. Now this is just an idea, and you can ignore me if you’d like, lol, but if you want to keep mink and other critters out of your house after you put the cat door in, there are fancy cat doors that will recognize your cats from wild animals simply by putting an electronic doohickey on your cat’s collar. It won’t open for anything that doesn’t have that device on it. Easy-peasy! 😊
Hello! Thank you, it’s good to be back. We do have lots of plans and hopefully this year we can pack in as much as we can before the weather turns again. I am sooo excited to get started on the outbuilding, it’s been a nervous few months since the roof caved in wondering if the walls would do the same, but so far it has hung on…a little worse for wear but still standing. So to be able to start on that soonish is a relief 😮💨 and once that’s all done we get a proper workshop which we will make our lives sooo much easier with storage and being to use it to work in. We can’t wait! We most definitely won’t ignore you because that was our idea too lol. We are going to get the cats microchipped and a cat flap that only opens to those chips. We used to have a magnetic cat flap years ago but our cats used to ditch their collars all the time so then couldn’t get in 😂 So rather collar the cats we thought a chip might be more fail safe 🤞 We shall see 😂
Thank you so much. Well he made up the mini green house today and it is outside against one of the outbuildings. It will get afternoon and early evening sun (when it shines) and if it is as good as the one his Auntie bought a few years back I am sure we will have plants of some sort. The trees seem happier don't they :-) Thank you Jacqueline for watching and commenting :-)
Thanks Heather. We did think this was the best way to go as we don't want to cause the tree any stress by doing it now, especially after us trying our hardest to save them. Thanks for watching and commenting :-)
Hi Dawn n Ben, it was lovely. What a lovely Surprise to seeing. You both ❤ .happy you got back home safely. I'm looking forward to seeing you next jobs. much love Aunt Gwen xxx
Thanks Ed. You know how to treat a couple don't you haha. Apart from the first week we didn't really stop but it was lovely just to potter doing little bits and pieces. Promise we won't dash off again for a while.
Thanks Andie. Doesn't it! We are so pleased with it all. Just need to get the top bit flat and we will have won.... for now lol. This is our thoughts too, we can crack or crarry on and hopefully get more done. Thank you as always for watching and commenting :-)
Love your videos, you have a very large task ahead but the rewards and satisfaction upon completion is worth it, at least for me when I complete a big task. Looking forward to your upcoming videos.
Thank you very much Jose. Yes, so much work ahead but with a bit by bit approach and as we are in no rush, we will get there in the end. One step at a time :-) Thanks again :-)
Nice to have you back. Glad you had a nice break. Well deserved, nice to catch up with family and friends. Once a week is fine, as you said, you need the content. See you Saturday😊
Thank you! Lovely break cheers and really good to get to see everyone again. Yeah this is it, we are always doing stuff but maybe not necessarily what everyone would sit and watch 😂 see you Saturday 😊
Hi Anna and thank you. I am sure we will have the ginger cattens out with us once they get fully used to the wet floor haha. They all love being around when we are out there, it is just the rain which they like to avoid. Thank you again :-)
So glad you had a fun time off and the neighbor no doubt loved spending time with the kittenangels. I liked seeing that little mink in your yard - I've only ever spotted a mink once in all my 62 years as it raced across a country road, they're so velvety smooth. Yard looks nicely tidied and the apple tree blossoms are fabulous to see - the trees look so happy. I expect as the new branches form and start to stretch outward, you'll see the tree begin to balance out better and snipping off outer/older portions of branches will help the tree and also balance it out to a better shape - but hey, I'm no arborist haha. It will be a nice project to get that outbuilding turned into a work station for the many jobs that the house will require in the future. See ya' Saturday.
Hi Tracy. She did a great job with the cats. We asked her which cattery is best and she said "NO, I will look after the little darlings". She is as nuts as we are. Yeah we couldn't believe the Mink, he just popped in to see us and then went for a wander once we had shooed him (or her) off. Seen it a couple of times now, lovely little thing. We are chuffed with the land and the apple trees especially. Hopefully you are right and they will sort themselves out now they can see light and breath again. We are certainly no arborists if you aren't haha. Having the outbuildings sorted will make such a difference to us and moving forward. See you Saturday and thank you as always :-)
Welcome back! So glad you had a break. The little spot in the patio area looks like a heart shaped pond. I know it is small but maybe that could be part of the feature.
Thank you Melanie, it was a much needed and welcomed break from some of the back breaking stuff we have been doing. Time for a change of pace we think. Yes it will be a feature, or maybe just a trip hazard, whatever it turns out to be, it is old, very old. No way could we remove it, a bit like the gully in the large outbuilding. We are not completely sure of the final plan with it, but something which will lock all the smaller stones in place and give a hard standing / patio type area, of course complete with really old thing in the middle haha. Thank you Melanie for your comments :-)
You two are absolutely so cute and very lovely to watch. Never think what you show us will be too boring to film. We want to see all the beauty, transformation, and mondain things of fixing up a house. Watching you two working together is worth it.
Aww thank you 🤩 it’s really good to be back again. You’re absolutely right and it was just what we needed to recharge ourselves ready for what’s ahead! 😬🤣
Thank you so much Vicky. It is nice to be home but it was so nice to see family. Fingers crossed the weather will be on our side and we can get lots done and share it with you once a week. Thank you again :-)
Good morning Carol how are you? It seems ages since we were at mums and it just wasn't long enough for either my side or Dawn's side of the families. Hopefully next time we can add an extra day or something. We have already started, you know us haha. Hope all is well with you xx
Up until Saturday the weather was great, real back warming stuff and jackets off heat, then the pitter patter started Saturday evening. Summer is coming though which can only mean one thing..... warm rain hahaha. Thanks Billy :-)
Glad to hear, you had a nice holiday, you guys really deserve it! It's nice to see your trees come a life very nicely. Good luck for your next projects.
We really enjoyed our break. That makes it sound like we don't like ding what we do when we love it all, but a break from it as lovely. We are really pleased with the land and how it has all come to life again. The large outbuilding will be the big project I think, the others will just be jobs that need doing. All important, but just not as big as the outbuilding. Thanks for watching and commenting :-)
Fantastic to see you both back and delighted to hear you were over to see your family's. I am sure your Dad is very proud of you Dawn and Ben and all you have achieved through very hard work.Nice stash of timber all stacked up.Looking forward to Saturday.Take care and mind yourselves.God bless you both xx
Aww thank you Colette, it was lovely seeing the families after nearly a year now. My Dad is super proud of us both for all, that we’ve done so far. Ooh yes lots of timber, just need to build an enclosure for it now lol it is on the never ending list of things to do. 😉 you take care too.xxx
Also from the midlands 🙌🏻 What a lovely surprise to come home to a video after a long night shift. You were so missed but so glad you were able to get a much deserved break! Looking forward to the next stage of renos and cat content 🥰
Looks like we missed out on a few cups of tea. You in the Midlands and someone from down Dawn's neck of the woods, we could have been spoiled rotten haha. We are excited to get started on building and drainage stuff now the land is under control. I am sure the cats will make an appearance somewhere lol. Thank you Becklebee for watching, commenting and being a channel member :-)
So glad you’re in our homes again. Y’all look well rested. Much deserved. I don’t understand real estate sales there. I would have thought that one building would go with your land. The blossoms are lovely. So glad you saved those trees. Was glad to hear y’all are going to be working on the outbuildings. Crack on 🌳🌳🌳🪨🪨🪨❤️ 25:40
Thank you so much! We are indeed well rested and thoroughly enjoyed our two week break from it all. I think the upkeep of that building was the reason it was sold along with the other land this farmhouse owned. We have a photo where it still had the roof on from back in the early 80's (we think) but a storm took the roof off at a later date and sadly the building took some damage too. Maybe one day it will be ours. Until then we can just look after it the best we can from our side. The apple trees deserved a chance of being free from ivy and brambles for a year. We will see how they get on and decide what to do at a later date. It would be lovely to get fruit from all three, but the wind swept one isn't looking to good. Dawn has been waiting so long to get started on that building and is trying so hard to get the bit at the back all dug and level before starting on the repointing. We were gutted when the roof collapsed so it will be lovely to see a roof on there again. Thank you for watching and commenting
It does doesn't it. With the naked eye it looks like a squished circle. The camera also makes it look like it is all level. We wish it was. Thank you as always and hope you are well :-)
"Oh look! A little leaf fell." And now we know why Dawn likes cats. 😹😆 So pleased you are back and looking more rested than you have since you started vlogging this project. I'm happy you are going back to one vlog a week for a while because it has to be soul sucking trying to get everything done AND make time to edit and upload. Of course, I love watching the daily progress but I'm sure you'll show us any fantastic finds or dastardly discoveries as necessary. 😘 So, Cheers! Have a nice cuppa in front of your stove and cuddle your kitties, who must have missed you a lot. P.S. It wasn't raining!!!! Wasn't sure that ever happened.
Exactly, a leaf of all things hahahaha. We don't know if it is the change in weather and the longer days again but we feel really bright. Or maybe it was bad beds in the Travelodge which means we appreciate and sleep better in our own bed now haha. One a week should work for us at the moment and of course we will share anything new and show you anything we finish that we have already started, nothing will change. Oooh plenty of cups of tea have been enjoyed, we do like a cup of tea with the company of the gingers. Honestly it wasn't raining hahaha. Thank you so much for always being with us. Oh, I have just remembered I need to do another reply to you. Have a nice week and see you Saturday :-)
Thanks Marion. We are really pleased with the land. It all seems happy enough and even the ground was hard for a little while before it started raining again. We don't want to wish time away but it will be nice to see if we get any apples. Time will tell. Thank you Marion :-)
So glad you had a lovely time away. You were missed! Do what you feel comfortable with as far as filming. Welcome Home! Your smiling faces have made my day!! I'll have to dive in some Rabbit holes and see what I can find about that circle in your back garden. Mum has some idea's but I'm going to take a look into them before I say anything.
Awww thanks Janie. It seems silly just to put up a video of the same old thing and everyone gets bored. We want to share our progress and when you have seen one bit of digging you have seen it all. We aren't far from getting that one section level now. The circle area, or now dubbed "Duck Puddle" is a work in progress and bit by bit, but getting there slowly. Down spend to long down that rabbit hole, you know you get yourself into trouble down there haha. We are all ears from both you and your mum :-)
I don't know how you kept up with it for so long, it's so much on top of the actual work you're doing. Once a week is great, I'm looking forward to it.❤
We can’t deny it has been hard going at times and we are hoping that one a week gives us a little more breathing space and downtime. So far it seems to be working which is good. 😊 it should give us more time get finished up on the land enough to crack on with the outbuilding…so excited to start that one. ❤️
Look at you both - so fresh faced! You guys look great after your time away. Great to have you back and how very exciting to see your plans for this year. And how lovely to have someone come into the house to mind the cats and have the fire lighting for you when you got back ❤❤
Aww yeah she is an absolute 🌟 we asked her advice on the best cattery around here and she said “No, don’t put them in a cattery, I’ll come and feed the furry angels” and then she sent us daily pics of the “children” 😂 we love her to bits, she’s such a lovely woman and the fire was the cherry on the cake! It’s nice to be back, feels exciting all over again. Looking forward to getting properly stuck in again. Hope Rob is feeling better now?❤️❤️
@@thecornerhouseproject Yes, thankyou for asking he is. I think he was run down before the tooth came out and then it turned in a sinus infection. He hasnt been regularly using his neti pot (for cleaning his nose, he swears by it) since we came here, so once he got back into that he was fine. Good neighbours are invaluable ❤️
Good evening David, thank you for joining us and commenting :-) It was hard work but finally we are pretty much there with the land for now. The bigger building work can start again now. If we hadn't done the land when we did, it would have been another 12 months of overgrown, inaccessible, fallen tree land, so we are happy we did it all and really pleased with the results too. Thanks again :-)
It's good to see you again. You both deserved some down time after the hours that you've been putting in. I wouldn't worry about the "boring" projects. Some of us tend to think of them as more meditative and relaxing, kind of a Zen thing. The farm is really starting to take shape, looking good. Take care. From Surrey, B.C. Canada
Thanks :-) We do a lot of Meditative / relaxing videos then haha. We are really pleased with the land side of things, now to move on to the building and drainage side of things. Thank you for watching and commenting as always :-)
Lovely to see you noth nack and both of you looking rested. Cant wait to watch the new instalments. Hope you had a great time. Lets hope the weather picks up for us all very soon.😃
Hi Rebekah. We feel rested and ready to go again. New bits and pieces to be done, still lots from what we had hoped would already be done. We will get there. Fingers crossed with the weather. It is supposed to be nice the weekend for the Bank holiday Monday. Thank you as always :)
Nice to see you back. Glad you had a nice weekend, just a thought as you put the catflap in your back door, it would let more light in if you had two glass panels in the top half just a thought
Thank you Ron. That is a good idea. It would be nice to have some additional light in. Something we can look into. Hopefully the timber panel strips will come off without breaking and we might be on to a winner.
Hahaha. No offence to Brummies but I am not a Brummie lol. I am from the bottom part of Worcestershire so I have a bit of a twang. Not a Bristol twang but only 60 miles away from there. Dawn is the Garden of England indeed. I lived there for 22 years before moving to Ireland but I don't think I lost my accent too much. Lovely to be back. Thank you Penny :-)
We have lots of variation. Sometime we even do a job from start to finish with nothing in between... not too often though haha. Thank you as always Jean :-)
Thank you! 🤩 it’s good to be back. We’re really looking forward to clearing that out, we’ve wanted to get it done for a long time, so I don’t think it’ll be long before we get to that, we promise to film it for you 😊❤️
I am glad you had a lovely mini holiday. The grounds are really looking wonderful. I am sorry you aren’t going to do videos of all the small jobs. I enjoy seeing them and your comments. But I will be happy to watch even one! Have a great week.
Hi Rosanne, thank you. We had a really nice time away and then a nice relaxed week when we got back. You won't miss anything, we will still be filming and sharing all of the things we do, we just didn't want the huge jobs, like digging, to just become boring to watch. We would much rather one video showing you any / all the bits we have done rather than three videos a week showing the same thing like digging, if that makes sense. Thank you so much for watching and commenting, it means so much :-)
By default I guess you are talking to Dawn. I would miss her too if she went for a couple of weeks. Thank you Sandy for always watching and commenting :-)
I'm so glad your back, I've missed you so much. The garden is looking so good. It was nice to hear some familiar town names, I was born in Hereford in a little village called Clehonger, my husband always has a chuckle at the name. Love and blessings from Scotland xx
Hi Babs, how are you? That is so nice, we didn't think we would be missed at all lol. I am from a little village just outside Worcester not too far from Tewksbury. It is a lovely area isn't it. I was never a fan of driving to Hereford, it used to seem to take ages. Clehonger does deserve a little chuckle doesn't it haha. Thank you so much for watching and commenting Babs :-)
Glad you had a good break! 🎉 I’m flying to Birmingham to travel to Worcester for a conference in June. Worcester is lovely. Thanks for the tour and catch up. I giggled at the raised beds - looks like you have buried the bodies in the backyard 😂I know you will give us a quality video once a week - a treat for the weekend! Welcome back ❤
Isn't it a small world Sharon. Worcester really is a lovely City, the Cathedral is something else. Fingers crossed your flight just flies straight into Birmingham and not into Manchester like ours did. We are not a fan of the raised beds for that reason. We are not sure they will stay there, but that will be something for another day to decide. A quality video? Have we done one of those yet? haha. Thank you Sharon. We will see you Saturday.
Welcome home i know I've said it already . Putting it writing for the algorithm 😄 My arm and legs gettin some lovely bruises to go with the cuts. Theyre Like battle scars. 🤕. Wouldn't mind but i was tying the ladder to the roof when i fell off.. So much for Elf n safety.🤭. Love the idea of it being a wool wash .. doesn't explain it sounding hollow though . That mystery deepens.. Hospital Wednesday Day out in Dublin. .. SHOPPING ! 😋😋 😛😛😇 See youz soon
That's OK Mitch, it is nice TH-cam knows you have now officially welcomed us home lol. Battle scars hahaha, you wally. Ah, you have a point there, what health and safety is there when you are tying the ladder off for your safety... bit of a Catch-22 there. A wool wash is a nice idea isn't it. The hollow sound still baffles us too, but is it just dirt and no stones, but why hasn't the water drained away. It is too high up for the water table, so is it just so much dirt and silt that it doesn't drain? Maybe one day we will find out what it is. Shopping... I can't think of anything worse, Amazon for me I am afraid. We went to Dublin for a day, so many people and we had a friend as our personal guide. See you soon. Have a safe trip and thank you :-)
Awww thank you Effie. It was really nice to see our families, 10 months since I saw mine and since we saw Dawns and my Nephew getting married was a lovely bonus. We are pleased to be back and hard at it again :-)
Oh btw- the amount of videos you upload per week or whenever won’t change my following your journey. Post when it is possible and suits you, not us out here on YT. My two bits worth. Lovely to see you two! So sweet!
Hi Ben and Dawn, So good to see you back, I've missed your videos 😊 though I have been rewatching some of your older ones. Ive been itching for the outbuildings to he started so I'm thrilled that's next on the list 🎉 please don't think I don't wish for the inside to he all done for you guys, but I know you'll get there! Look forward to the next one guys Take care ❤
Hi Mark, it is nice to be back. Thanks for watching some older ones, you must have been really bored to have done that haha. The outbuildings, especially the big one should look great. Cut out all of the work involved and imagine two fully repointed buildings all white washed. We know what you mean and the house will all get done too in the end. Without the space of the outbuilding though it will make it hard with no space to move. Living in the space you are renovating makes it a bit tricky so that will be next for a big project. Thanks Mark and see you Saturday :-)
@@thecornerhouseproject haha not at all, I love your videos and you're both such lovely down to earth people 😊 Oh I can't wait, I love old stone buildings and watch a few channels that restore them. They're gonna look beautiful when they are done as I know you both will pour so much love and care into them. Yes, you're absolutely right, you need a space to work from so you don't end up living in a building site, Thank you for sharing your journey, take care ♥️
It was a lovely break thank you. Sadly not enough hours in the days to get to see everyone . Maybe next time :-) Of course you are always welcome to pop in :-)
Hi Kathleen, it sounds like we know what we are talking about again doesn't it? You know what our plans are like though. We planned on doing a raised area and now we have a load of stones exposed and a circle filled with water haha. "Hopefully", now that we have the land under control, the plumbing working well and no rain coming under the back door, our plans will work out well. We have so much to do inside and outside but we are in no rush, but we really do need that outbuilding fixing. Also, Dawn can't wait :-) Thank you for always joining us :-)
Haha, do we look younger now? Well believe it or not, my shaver broke last night. I have a spare somewhere, we just need to find it. Thanks Simon, as always :-)
Thank you very much 😊 we’ve rid quite a few of the trees of Ivy so far but still have lots more on the list of things to do 🫣😂 I can honestly say I have never seen as much Ivy in my whole life as there is/was in this land lol
Aww 🥰 thank you! It’s so nice to come back especially with the welcome back we have had, might go away more often! 😉🤣 We really have had a lovely time on our break, but it’s nice to be back and ready to get on with things again.
Hi guys,Twas so lovely to see you all,it was such a lovely surprise .💖 We are all looking forward to seeing all your new Videos. Onwards and upwards 👍😘😘😘
Hello Ben and Dawn!😊 how lovely to have you back, I've really, really missed you but you both seem rejuvenated after your break, seeing friends and family must have given you a boost. Your land is looking so beautiful and you both look happy. Amazing that you had a mink in the kitchen, that's posh, most people only have mice😂❤
Awww Pat, that is so lovely to read. We feel bright and ready for the next steps. It was a lovely week away, just not long enough to be with both families. But it was lovely all the same. We are really pleased with the land. Leaving things in place to see what they would do was worth it as now we can identify things and decide what to do with them. Oh get us, posh haha. We couldn't believe it. Not the first time we had seen him, but when he just wandered into the kitchen we were very shocked. He didn't seem bothered by us though. See you soon and thank you :-)
Ooh it looks soo good and sooo green, it’s quite amazing just how green everything is…it almost looks like it glows. Bloody love it. Really pleased with how good it’s all looking. It’ll be great to just sit down there and listen to the birds when the warm weather stays around 😊

Thank you Birthe. Everything just burst into life while we were gone for a week. It is nice to see our hard work on the land was worth it. We have never been to Denmark, I hear it is lovely.
@@thecornerhouseproject that's brilliant. Can't wait to see the finished house and garden but it will take days months and loads of videos . Best of luck with everything
Aww thanks Annie! It’s lovely to be back too, especially to see how much the garden has come along in such a short space of time. There’s been some beautiful sunshine this last week so i think that’s helped with the tan, if I could spend the rest of my life outdoors I would 😂
Thank you very much. It is nice to be back and back on TH-cam. Dawn has been keeping up with the odd comments we have had but there is nothing like a torrent of comments to try and keep up with haha. A lovely break thank you, very relaxing even with all the travel in the first week. Compared to your distances, ours is a bus ride haha.
@@thecornerhouseprojecttrue, my dad is in Wisconsin and I’m in Arizona, and that’s 2,000 miles apart! The puddle in the back looks almost heart shaped, but when you add the gully it looks like an abstract naughty symbol, and now I can’t unsee it! 🫣🤣🫠
It was a lovely break thank you! 🤩 I must say I do like Kent, I know I’m biased because it’s where I’m from lol but it’s a great place. Love the old bookshop in Rochester, funnily enough I saw it on the train down from Worcester 😊
Glad you had a great time at the wedding. No need to explain. We are happy to see you today!!
Most homesteaders do outdoor projects in the spring summer and fall, and indoor projects in the colder months. All things have a season.
Aww thank you for saying so 😊 it has given me us a lot more time back for getting more stuff done dropping the videos down to one a week.
All in due course and time its getting there you have made a great difference to the place so the end will be super stunning
Aww thank you, we really hope so.
Thank you for the welcome back and yes, we will see you Saturday :-)
with a little love nature responds greatly
And thank you so much Bobbie :-)
maybe the old course way/mini pond may have been an original water well that's been blocked up? does look like it will be a lovely feature, though do put a free flow outlet on the back end so it keeps draining out to the ditch
looking great everywhere now; give it all some breathing space for a few months
thanx for sharing
Lovely to see you back i enjoy watching your progress you are both so positive
Thank you Joyce, we do try lol. Seriously though we do genuinely enjoy pretty much all of it, just living here is enough to make us smile. Although having said that…the digging wasn’t the most enjoyable thing towards the end 😂
You have made so much progress from how it was at the start. I am really invested in it. I am so proud of you and look forward to more! Hugs
Glad you are back. Hope you had a great time with family.
Aww thank you 😘 Yes, lovely time, really to see everyone again 😊
Thank you ML, it is nice to be back and with plans :-)
We had a lovely time thank you :-)
Lovely to see you two back in your element, your enthusiasm for your land and house is really shining through, XXX❤
It is nice to be home Rob but we did have a lovely time with my family and the wedding and then down to everyone down there with you for a few days. It was sad coming away from everyone over there but it is nice to be in our own bed again :-)
Now the weather is changing for the better, hopefully we can get a move on with this list of jobs.
Whatever we start next won't involve weeks and weeks of digging :-)
Oooh Happy May, I like it :-)
Thank you Josefina, as always :-)
I missed the sunny weather for the drone but it is due up asap :-)
Thank you as always Kath.
We used to have a magnetic cat flap years ago but our cats used to ditch their collars all the time so then couldn’t get in 😂 So rather collar the cats we thought a chip might be more fail safe 🤞 We shall see 😂
@@sylvanaire How great to know.
Yay,welcome home x Take care. Good luck with your growing Luca! The trees are so grateful for your hard work.
Thank you so much. Well he made up the mini green house today and it is outside against one of the outbuildings. It will get afternoon and early evening sun (when it shines) and if it is as good as the one his Auntie bought a few years back I am sure we will have plants of some sort.
The trees seem happier don't they :-)
Thank you Jacqueline for watching and commenting :-)
Could the round circle full of water be a drinking hole for the animals in the past.
Leave the Apple tree alone until after the season then top it and shape it with all the new growth.🍎🍏
Thanks Heather. We did think this was the best way to go as we don't want to cause the tree any stress by doing it now, especially after us trying our hardest to save them.
Thanks for watching and commenting :-)
Great to see you back, you have been missed, hope your rested and looking forward to more vids
Thanks Tom and we are indeed. Hopefully you will get to pop down in the near future for a cuppa?
All the best and thank you again :-)
That crab apple tree looks amazing, what a transformation.❤
It really does, doesn’t it?! We’re chuffed to bits with how well that is doing. Fingers crossed for some apples this year. 🤞🍀
Hi Dawn n Ben, it was lovely. What a lovely Surprise to seeing. You both ❤ .happy you got back home safely. I'm looking forward to seeing you next jobs. much love Aunt Gwen xxx
Hi Auntie Gwen, it was really lovely to see you too ❤️ All safe and sound and ready to get going on some new things! 😊 xxx
Welcome back! Good to have you back, now back to work. LOL
Thanks Ed. You know how to treat a couple don't you haha. Apart from the first week we didn't really stop but it was lovely just to potter doing little bits and pieces.
Promise we won't dash off again for a while.
Nice travels! I'm also from Kent. Gravesend. :)
Yay for Kent! I’ve only been to Gravesend once and that was to visit a car oil manufacturing plant 😂
Welcome back! Garden looks gorgeous! Once a week is fine, especially as it gives you more time to work on your projects. Take care! 🍀🌿🌱🌾
One step at a time :-)
Thanks again :-)
Welcome back. Glad you’ve enjoyed your break. Go at a workable pace for yourselves.
Thank you Maeve that means a lot :-)
Nice to have you back. Glad you had a nice break. Well deserved, nice to catch up with family and friends. Once a week is fine, as you said, you need the content. See you Saturday😊
Thank you! Lovely break cheers and really good to get to see everyone again. Yeah this is it, we are always doing stuff but maybe not necessarily what everyone would sit and watch 😂 see you Saturday 😊
Welcome back. Once a week sounds lovely. please a catch up with the ginger cattens. Bless you all
Hi Anna and thank you.
Thank you very very much indeed Sabrina, that is really nice of you.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting :-)
Great to see you back! Whatever you can give us is great. Most important is taking care of yourselves!🇨🇦
Aww thank you 🤩 it’s really good to be back again. You’re absolutely right and it was just what we needed to recharge ourselves ready for what’s ahead! 😬🤣
So happy you had a little time for family. Missed your videos and think you will get more accomplished on your land and home. Until Saturday.
Thank you so much Vicky. It is nice to be home but it was so nice to see family.
Fingers crossed the weather will be on our side and we can get lots done and share it with you once a week.
Thank you again :-)
You were missed. So glad you enjoyed your break, now get on with it!!!😁XX
Good morning Carol how are you? It seems ages since we were at mums and it just wasn't long enough for either my side or Dawn's side of the families. Hopefully next time we can add an extra day or something.
We have already started, you know us haha.
Hope all is well with you xx
Pitter patter time to get back at 'er,a little break is good for the soul and gets ya recharged...
So glad you are back !!! Normal service has resumed. Such a difference a couple of weeks has made to the garden .
Awww thank you Clive! It’s nice to be back. It really has, it has gone nuts, really good to see though.
Also from the midlands 🙌🏻
What a lovely surprise to come home to a video after a long night shift.
Nice
Have finally caught up. Took a few weeks to binge all your videos. Keep up the good work. From Australia ❤
Wow! Well done! I think you deserve a🥇for getting through those, especially the early days ones! We very much appreciate you doing that too 😘
Glad you had a relaxing two weeks. Good to see you back again.
Thank you, it’s good to be back again! 😘
Very pleased to have you back!
Thanks Grace, that is nice to read :-) Thank you for watching and commenting :-)
Glad to have you back🎉 carry on doing, what you feel happy with. See you Saturday 😊
Thank you so much Debbie. It saves us boring people with digging all the time hahaha.
See you Saturday :-)
Welcome back. You were missed ✌️💚
Thank you Dish, it is nice to be back and ready to start on some different bits.
Thanks for watching, commenting and being a channel member :-)
It may be a water Spring , so ld dig it out some and drain the water as much as U can .it may fill up again and be really be good to drink .
Welcome back! Looking forward to more!
Thank you Rosalee. We promise we won't vanish again too soon haha.
Thank you for watching and commenting and we will see you Saturday.
👋Hello, so happy to see you again🤗
Thank you so much Shae :-)
It looks like a heart shape from the camera view.
Aww lovely to see you back 🙌you deserved that break, always a pleasure to see both, your hard work is paying off, the land looks lush and green xx
Thanks Marion. We are really pleased with the land. It all seems happy enough and even the ground was hard for a little while before it started raining again.
We don't want to wish time away but it will be nice to see if we get any apples. Time will tell.
Thank you Marion :-)
Nice to have you both back. Your videos are never boring, regardless of what you are doing.
Thank you Jeannine, not sure everyone would agree with you but that thank you for having our backs haha.
Thank you for watching and commenting :-)
Oh that’s really good with Rob, fingers crossed that’ll be it now, especially with the better weather around the corner. 🎉
You have done a fantastic job in a few months; hard work though it was.
Good evening David, thank you for joining us and commenting :-)
It was hard work but finally we are pretty much there with the land for now. The bigger building work can start again now. If we hadn't done the land when we did, it would have been another 12 months of overgrown, inaccessible, fallen tree land, so we are happy we did it all and really pleased with the results too.
Thanks again :-)
That tree looks so happy
It certainly seems a lot happier than it was 5 months ago Reanne lol
It's good to see you again. You both deserved some down time after the hours that you've been putting in. I wouldn't worry about the "boring" projects. Some of us tend to think of them as more meditative and relaxing, kind of a Zen thing. The farm is really starting to take shape, looking good. Take care. From Surrey, B.C. Canada
Thanks :-) We do a lot of Meditative / relaxing videos then haha.
We are really pleased with the land side of things, now to move on to the building and drainage side of things.
Thank you for watching and commenting as always :-)
Well done, missed you guys.
Tell the truth, you didn't know we were missing hahaha.
Hope all is well with you :-)
Lovely to see you noth nack and both of you looking rested.
Hi Ben and Dawn..
Ben you're a brummie..west midlands
Dawn from Garden of Eng Kent..🎉🎉🎉
Nice you both had break...
Welcome back
When renovating it is good to have a variation so you can think about the different areas and what you want to do.
We have lots of variation. Sometime we even do a job from start to finish with nothing in between... not too often though haha.
Thank you as always Jean :-)
I have been looking every day for this post. Glad to see you both are back. 😊
Here we are Penny. We said we would be back haha.
Thank you for watching and commenting, and I suppose missing us too. Makes us feel wanted :-)
Welcome home. I've missed you. I can't wait to see the space between the two outbuildings cleaned up. Please film it ❤
Thank you so much for watching and commenting, it means so much :-)
Welcome home gorgeous You have been missed. Xxx
By default I guess you are talking to Dawn. I would miss her too if she went for a couple of weeks.
Thank you Sandy for always watching and commenting :-)
Yes Dawn lol glad to see you also
Hahahaha :-)
Welcome home Ben & Dawn, hope you're well rested.
Very well rested thank you. Ready for the next 10 months haha
Great u had 2 wks off ,great to see u both more relazed and see u on saturdays enjoy ur progressss ,glad u are back xxx
Thank you Diana. We said we were back. An extra week would have been nice but it is nice to be back and crarrying on :-)
Glad you had a good break!
Nice to see ya back glad you both had a nice time 😊
Thank you Terry. Nice to be back. Had a lovely time away and then a rest :-)
Thank you for watching and commenting :-)
Welcome home i know I've said it already . Putting it writing for the algorithm 😄
My arm and legs gettin some lovely bruises to go with the cuts.
Have a safe trip and thank you :-)
missed ya's glad you had good family visits . Glad you are back !
So sweet!
Thank you very much indeed :-)
@@thecornerhouseproject very welcome. You two are a breathe of fresh air!
Hi Ben and Dawn,
So good to see you back, I've missed your videos 😊 though I have been rewatching some of your older ones.
Ive been itching for the outbuildings to he started so I'm thrilled that's next on the list 🎉 please don't think I don't wish for the inside to he all done for you guys, but I know you'll get there!
Look forward to the next one guys
Take care ❤
Hi Mark, it is nice to be back. Thanks for watching some older ones, you must have been really bored to have done that haha.
The outbuildings, especially the big one should look great. Cut out all of the work involved and imagine two fully repointed buildings all white washed.
We know what you mean and the house will all get done too in the end. Without the space of the outbuilding though it will make it hard with no space to move. Living in the space you are renovating makes it a bit tricky so that will be next for a big project.
Thanks Mark and see you Saturday :-)
@@thecornerhouseproject haha not at all, I love your videos and you're both such lovely down to earth people 😊
Oh I can't wait, I love old stone buildings and watch a few channels that restore them.
They're gonna look beautiful when they are done as I know you both will pour so much love and care into them.
Yes, you're absolutely right, you need a space to work from so you don't end up living in a building site,
Thank you for sharing your journey, take care ♥️
Good to hear you had a break. Ellie said AMAZING when she saw us all xxx well done both of you ❤
It was a lovely break thank you. Sadly not enough hours in the days to get to see everyone . Maybe next time :-) Of course you are always welcome to pop in :-)
@@thecornerhouseproject we would love to come over. We hen we work out how to 😂
So great to see you back, I really missed your updates, it wasn't the same without it.❤
Aww thank you, it’s lovely to be back. ❤️ and nice to ‘see’ you again too 😊
welcome back dawn and ben
Thank you Alan. We have missed you and your Hello's haha
i finish my bedroom and the bathroom as well on to back bedroom
You have really good plans on what to do next.
Also, Dawn can't wait :-)
Thank you for always joining us :-)
Looking better after your time off. I dont mind a close shave of something.
Take care guys.
Haha, do we look younger now? Well believe it or not, my shaver broke last night. I have a spare somewhere, we just need to find it.
Thanks Simon, as always :-)
Welcome home. You have been missed 😊
Thank you Linda. It is nice to be home :-)
Well done to you 👏 all you have achieved so far ...cut the ivy on the base of your trees and it will just die off well done 👏
Thank you very much 😊 we’ve rid quite a few of the trees of Ivy so far but still have lots more on the list of things to do 🫣😂 I can honestly say I have never seen as much Ivy in my whole life as there is/was in this land lol
YAY! Missed you both. Glad you had a lovely break
Aww it was so lovely to see you too Auntie Chris, a really lovely surprise. Most definitely onwards and upwards 😊❤️❤️
See you soon and thank you :-)
you can really appreciate the work you have done on the land
with the green growth coming up it really makes the place look
boss, fair play to yee
Ooh it looks soo good and sooo green, it’s quite amazing just how green everything is…it almost looks like it glows. Bloody love it. Really pleased with how good it’s all looking. It’ll be great to just sit down there and listen to the birds when the warm weather stays around 😊

Hej from Denmark. Welcome back. So green. Also in Denmark. 🌸🌸🌸
Thank you Birthe. Everything just burst into life while we were gone for a week. It is nice to see our hard work on the land was worth it.
We have never been to Denmark, I hear it is lovely.
The wanderers return .... welcome back
Thanks Rob. We promise we won't vanish again for a little while and we will try and make your channel membership worth it lol.
@@thecornerhouseproject that's brilliant. Can't wait to see the finished house and garden but it will take days months and loads of videos . Best of luck with everything
Welcome back Dawn and Ben I’m glad you’re back home and ye both look lovely and tanned and well rested. Your garden is coming along beautifully
Aww thanks Annie! It’s lovely to be back too, especially to see how much the garden has come along in such a short space of time. There’s been some beautiful sunshine this last week so i think that’s helped with the tan, if I could spend the rest of my life outdoors I would 😂
I missed seeing you both, I'm glad you're back. xx
Awww thank you so much Heather, that is lovely.
See you Saturday.
Welcome back 🎉
Thanks Caroline. Fingers crossed we all get some lovely weather. We hope everything is good with you :-)
Welcome back!! 🥰❤️ I missed you guys, and I’m glad that you had a lovely break!! ✨💚
Great job😊
Thank you very much ukpauline :-)
Glad you had a great break! BTW loved living in Kent. Bexley then gravesend, Strood and last house was in Rochester
It was a lovely break thank you! 🤩 I must say I do like Kent, I know I’m biased because it’s where I’m from lol but it’s a great place. Love the old bookshop in Rochester, funnily enough I saw it on the train down from Worcester 😊
WELCOME BACK FROM A WELL DESERVED VACATION
Thank you very much Claude, it is nice to be back.
