I need to let you guys know what this channel is going to mean for me going forward: it means memories of my grandpa, Sam Wright. He passed away this Wednesday and he was a cattle rancher. I have so many memories of working the ranch with him. Vaccinating calves, building continuous fence lots, cutting hay, and my favorite, fixing barb wire fence. I love the silliness and realism of this channel, and you guys are on your way up and I am excited for you, but what I will always appreciate are the little things, like fixing fence, because it reminds me of my Grandpa Sam. God bless you both!!!
@@briansonne814 thank you Brian. I know you cherish those moments with your sons and I hope for all his goofing around, Cole cherishes those memories as well. Zach over in MN did a video of his family farm history. I’d love if you guys ever did something similar. Just going through your farm history, pictures/videos from the past, and all the people who have helped you to where you are today. Would be a wonderful video!
During this year long lockdown in England, watching your TH-cam videos has entertained me immensely. You have taught me a lot about farming, work levels and humour. My husband thinks I’m nuts but seriously, in my next life I’m coming back as a farmer. I’m loving this.
Super nice group of calves! I’m impressed y’all never yell at one another when you’re working the cows. My husband always apologizes before we even start. Lol!
last year i lost my dad, this year i lost my son. every minute you guys spend together is precious and enjoy it. thanks for the videos they help me get by.
This video put a lump in my throat. I am a farmers widow and spent a lot of time sorting and working cattle. Good times, usually, if there were no “incidents”! Miss the farm.
Sounds like you may have a relative that works on the railroad? Memo comes down from corporate. There are no accidents there are only preventable "incidents" and we have the rulebook to prove it. And it's about 5 in thick.
Love this channel.......love seeing those cattle and remembering when I used to see them every day.....miss those days. You have quite a task in winter freezes also with feeding and etc.... Keep up the good work guys.......I can say black angus is the best eating you can have IMHO. Gotta love this channel. Thanks guys for the stories and the sharing.......love the stories and watching you do the work you do. Blessings
I used to buy twenty or so weanling black angus from a guy with a hobby herd. Those black anguse momma wer the best, but, after a summer on the pasuture, they got a little "rangy'. I would haul those calves home and they bawled for at least a solid day, they would keep me up at night. But they were the best calves ever.
Hello Brian & Cole. Not only Mr Denning (Cole's English teacher) but we who try to use proper English Grammar too. Brian you are correct when you pointed out "These ones and Those ones. Spot on. The trap many English speakers fall into is the use of "Them" when they should use "Those". Chet at "Larsons Farms" is guilty of this mistake. What you correctly call gates (Wire) we say locally "Gaps". Great Video and editing again guys. Thanks Cole and Brian, from JP in Australia
Brian Your stories are great they help me to laugh when I feel bad you are a good man and your farm looks awesome. And to the young man keep the work your dad I am sure really proud of you and help the farm to fulfill that goal its need with video and youtube and merch you have on sale when the farm has a bad time a lest you have other income
I am a retired Auctioneer and a saying about a beast as well as it having a extra rib was it was as "Long as a Moura coal train". Moura is a town here in Australia where they mine coal and the trains can be over a mile long. Also trying to be kind about a beast that did not have a lot of appeal and you were reaching for something to promote the beast you might say ' It's got a nice halter"
Awesome video Cole when we had cows that was not doing good either they didn’t stay around either that was nice looking black angers when we had cows that’s what we had you tell everybody I said and your family y’all stay safe looking forward to the next video you stay cool 😎 Cole talk to you next time😎🤙👍
Hi Guys 🙋🏻♂️ Another great Sonne production ! It sure was good to c half slappy earning his keep! Normally the mean wild cows raise big calves so it makes them hard to sell she just made ur decision much easier! 🍔
I remember weaning calves and selling calves. I don’t miss it at all . I can’t leave out vaccinating. I didn’t have as many as you but all I had to do was call them and the would meet me at the barn. While they were eating, I shut the gate. Piece of cake. 😏😏
Hey up you guys!! You got some lovely looking bulls there, ol 331 he's gonna make a lot of gals very happy for sure' Your auctioneer story had me chuckling, it reminded me of the days when I used to sell a few horses here and there. We took a mare to a guy once who was looking to buy her, when we met up with him we found he had a speech impediment. He looked over the horse for a while and then said 'let me see her twot, I was a bit surprised by this but I needed a little cash so I lifted it's tail anyway and pointed to it, he looked a bit puzzled for a second but then motioned with his hands...NO, 'IT'S TWOT.IT'S TWOT! lol. Stay safe guys and keep the videos coming. Frosty.
Great to see family working so well together. Cherish every moment. I can tell you first hand,, one day your dad is with you working calves, stringing fence, fixing the baler, and before you know it he's gone. You don't realize it at the time, but those days will mean everything to you
I am South Dakota. It's an okay place to be. Three things you need to live in South Dakota. One don't like people. Two better not like doing anything. Number three you better like having to drive along ways to find a mall or any thing you like to do for fun. O one more you better like a snow and rain and humidity.
A farmer drops off a young bull and an old bull with a herd of cows. The two bulls are on a hill looking down at the cows. The young bull is anxious to get to work, so he tells the old bull, "Let's get down there and breed some of those cows." The old bull stops the young bull and tells him, "Patience there young fella, we are going to take our time, we will go down there, sniff out the ones that are ready, and we are going to breed all them cows."
Cole, you and your dad remind me of my dad and I, bantering back and forth like that. I have a friend's wife who says she has the hardest time keeping up with us when we get going!
Those are nice bulls yall are raising. You were awfully bold saying no cure for stupidity with all those syringes in Brian's hand🤣 . Great video as always and stay safe out there
I would have stuck with your opening comment technically you would be correct in that it is a spreader of fertiliser, as it going to spread varying rates of NPK depending of the composition of the manure pile.
Can't wait to check out the new shit slinger! Too bad Ellie does not like to be inside. She's such a good dog and I am sure once she got used to being inside she would love it. Thanks for the video.
Top notch video gentleman. If you don't smile when you're moving cows are you even living. Listen too them Beauties singing. Half slappy and the return of manure. Coles is definitely getting some on him. And sonnefarmsdad getting bleeped...
Nothing more fun than Saturday morning breakfast with the Sonnes ! 30* is too cold for SoCal guys. I have to stay inside until it's maybe 60 or 65 outside. If I were to move to South Dakota would it be okay if I brought my weather with me ?
Dang, some nice meaty lookin young bulls you got there. Love watching you guys working together. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Or Sunday. They love that circumference. Isn't that how God created the cow? He took that extra rib out of the bull and made Him a cow. All seriousness, that dude is a beaut!!
Awesome video cole I guest Elle wanted to give them cows alittle something extra in thier cern healthy and nutritious lol yep some welding in need that’s for sure nothing mayjory trying to pick up local cows I see hahahaha thumbs up and shared
You've got to watch them cow pies Cole. I've been on my back side a few times cause of them. There's as much work to do to get ready for winter as summer time haying.
Those young bulls are “Sunday” quality. You must have a broad reputation that generates requests for breeding stock. Straight back, big chest, oh, and an extra rib. I sure like watching you work cattle more than I “enjoyed” working my little 20 cow herd of blackies.

Jordan, you are so blessed to have those great memories with Grandpa Sam. Much in the same way that we have great memories of my dad Robert!
@@briansonne814 thank you Brian. I know you cherish those moments with your sons and I hope for all his goofing around, Cole cherishes those memories as well.

Brian’s happy that half slappy is back in his hand !
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always 🌞 Farms!!!
Hi light of my weekend sonne farm video on a wet windy Saturday in Ireland
This video put a lump in my throat. I am a farmers widow and spent a lot of time sorting and working cattle. Good times, usually, if there were no “incidents”! Miss the farm.
Sounds like you may have a relative that works on the railroad? Memo comes down from corporate. There are no accidents there are only preventable "incidents" and we have the rulebook to prove it. And it's about 5 in thick.
A farm really can get in your blood cant it?
Glad to see HAPPY SLAPPY back. I think Cole needs two the cows seem to sneak up behind him quickly. Enjoyed the video. Keep them coming. Blessed Day.

I think Ellie may be jealous of the cows. She chases em the wrong way, poops in your shop and by their feed. 😂

Gate levers work great. Keeps gates tight and you will never need stretchers again to shut it.
Oh yeah !
Your, beef growing, farmer boys' star is rising
That was a great video
Thanks
