Mr. Hardy, It's good to see you in the comments. Give my regards to your family. After we get the drops installed we need to all get together! Until then, hope to see you in more comments. Kevin ps doing any fishing?
Real maple syrup does cost more. And single source organic maple syrup is probably the highest of them all. Until we get into the Single Barrel Rye Maple syrup or the Smoked maple... then prices go up again. All for good reason. Making syrup is a lot of work and it's fun too. Except the part when the trees are down on the lines. I'll be doing a drive through the sugar bush soon to share those challenges. Thanks for watching aw072! And thanks for leaving the comment. You know it means the world to me. Kevin
I know some producers use different color drops to keep track of which years they’ve been replaced. I run stubbys so I use different color adapters when I tap so I don’t inadvertently use an old dirty adapter (tap) 2 years ago I used white last season I used clear this season I’ll probably use blue.
@@MillGapFarmsthe stubby stays on the drop the adapter goes on the end of the stubby & is the actual tap that goes into the tree. The benefits are you’re not cutting taps off each year so you aren’t shortening your drops so no need to change drops. Also instead of cutting a tap off then using a one handed tool to put a new one on you simply pull the old adapter off & put a new one on. The process is quicker in my opinion plus less tools to carry & less trips through the woods. I do carry a small set of channel locks on me though as occasionally an adapter will be stuck on the stubby super tight.
The did to a degree. In the are I was working that day, there are lots and lots of outcroppings of rocks. I think at the price point these are the best I can find. And I never fell down wearing them. Oh, it's coming but that day, I managed to stay on my feet. Thanks for watching. Hope to see you in more comments. Kevin
Watching this video makes me doubly appreciate all the work behind a bottle of syrup. Thank you Kevin for all you do!

Wow!! Seems like maple syrup should cost more knowing all the time and work you put in! Thank you.

I have zero experience with stubbys. How do they help you? Thanks for watching CountryRoadsLife! Kevin

Would have thought those crampons would have filled up with leaves.
