Gold Mountain Trail - Big Bear Off Road Adventure

- 06 February 2016: We had wanted to take a trip up to Big Bear to hit some trails in the snow and we just happened to get connected with some guys on the JK Forum website that were making the trip. We met at the Big Bear Discovery Center, shook hands, discussed the days events, aired down our tires and headed out. What a great group of guys, most with some solid 4 wheeling experience. Everyone had the same goal, have fun, enjoy the day, and be safe. Our kind of group!
The trail started of a little congested with other groups heading out, but eventually things opened up. The first obstacle was challenging, but thankfully we had some great ground kinds. The second obstacle was very challenging, we had one flat tire and countless rerouting to get us all up the trail… we all made it out safely and Jeeps intact.
The rest of the day was spectacular. Fun in the snow and Mud and amazing scenic views. One of the best off-road days to date!

The Jeep Trail Badge website explains the trail as follows:
"Offering a mix of challenges suitable for off-roaders looking to expand their range of off-roading experience, this trail is also rated as “Most Difficult” by the US Forest Service. With its uphill climbs, rock gardens, switchbacks and boulder and tree obstacles, this trail should only be attempted by vehicles with a high-clearance. Should you wish to extend your adventure, this trail also meets up with Big Pine Flat Trail near the Holcomb Valley."

Thanks for the video! Heading to Gold Mountain Trail on July 17th, for a NEXEN extreme rock crawling event. Did a youtube search to have an idea what it would be like over there and you're came up first!

I'm sitting comfortably just watching and at 4:44 you come across a jeep and a truck. I do a double take and these are my friends you pass by. I've never seen this video before, and I'm sure they have no idea either. I'll be sure to show them, what a coincidence. LOL!!!

HAHA, you are the first person to every mention it! This was one of our first dumb mistakes when we started out. The graphic designer misspelled it and we didn't even catch it until the video was posted for a couple days. Live and learn!
i see alot of stock wheels.. you need a lift for this at all?
I would recommend a lift and oversized tires for this trail.
