Captain Rex has been trained as an ARC trooper, which is basically an elite force. Commander cody or his real rank Marshal Commander Cody is the highest possible rank a clone can achieve tho he is not the only Marshal Commander and he has also been trained as an ARC or Advanced Recon Commando which most commanders have.

Cody is the Marshal Commander of the 7th sky Corp and his rank is the highest rank a clone can get. Cody outranks regular clone commanders.
Yeah.. also when I watched this second time I noticed a lot of nice details. Eg even in this episode we can see the basic difference between the behavior of Rex and Cody resulting from the influence of Jedi they're work with. Obi-Wan appreciates planning, following the rules.. but Anakin comletely opposite- improvisation, independent thinking, practice not theory.. So when Rex starts to improvise Cody is like 'no, this is never gonna work...' haha Cody is more like Obi-wan and Rex has Anakin's spirit.. also that's why Rex said 501 needs man like Fives and Echo, cause they're unorthodox... That's a cool details imo. This show is truly well written and that's why I love it so much, it's amazing 😍
I find it really funny (when you think about how these episodes came out) that when they were telling their backstory they took the one clone who died right away before we even got his name, and named him Droidbait.

It's crazy how much Commander Cody and Captain Rex are influence in their personnality by their Jedi Masters...Cody being more on protocol and by the book, clean missions and Rex going guns blazing first, thinking outside the box in terms of plans...Love it !
Both Rex and Cody have received ARC (advanced recon commando) trooper training, and while they don't share the same rank they do share the same job. During the Clone Wars if a Jedi had a Padawan, that Padawan took the rank of Commander and the commanding officer of the clone legion would receive a special captain rank being technically lower than a commander but still having charge of the legion.
I'd suggest for you guys to get The Bad Batch out of your heads for now because you won't be exploring them till MUCH later down the road. Also, just for a little clarification, Captain Rex is the leader of the 501st clone battalion who usually wear blue armor and also serve under Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. Commander Cody is the leader of the 212th clone battalion who usually wear orange/yellow armor and also serve under Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Fives and Echo were part of Domino Squad, NOT Bad Batch lmao. For me personally, Hevy is and always will be my 2nd favorite clone trooper of all time, as he falls slightly below Rex who you will continue to see be a badass as the show goes on.
No spoilers just some background lore and my personal opinions thrown in. General Grievous is a savage don't underestimate him, it's not his fault that druids are incompetent, early on in the war he was still receiving training under Dooku, you haven't seen him at full strength. RIP Hevy, a true hero. Commando droids are legit, but ARC troopers are absolute bosses, especially in the 501st Legion. ARC=Advanced Reconnaissance Commando. Anakin commands the 501st with Captain Rex. They work frequently with Kenobi and the 212th and are basically brothers. Commander Cody is one of the highest ranked clones in the war. Keep an eye on Dooku's assassin Asajj Ventress as well, there's more to her than meets the eye. The Bad Batch is a direct sequel to season 7 of SWTCW. Seasons 3-7 of TCW are some of the best Star Wars content out there.

This is probably one of my favorite if not my absolute favorite episodes. So emotional and powerful, especially when I was a young kid when I watched this show as it first aired. This episode served as a message kind of similar to GoT where great characters you like and become attached to can be gone at any moment. Also what do dominoes do.... they fall.
This one of tbe first episodes I saw of the Clone Wars and it’s still one of my favorites. Hevy was a true hero, giving everything he had to make sure they complete their mission and alert everyone.
For reference: B1 Battle Droid - Standard Battle Droid (as well as the OOM Commander units with the yellow markings and the different pilot models). B2 Super Battle Droids - The heavy ones with the built-in arm weaponry. BX Commando Droids - The ones introduced here. (the comics also had a B3 Ultra Battle Droid, but that never showed up in the actual series) There's also a D1 battle droid you'll see briefly towards the end of the series (no spoilers so I won't describe them). None of them are part of the Darktrooper lineage- the ones in Mandalorian were Phase III designs, with previous models/phases/variants sprinkled throughout other SW content.
I think they should release at least 2 Episodes a week. You need over 2,5 years to finish Clone Wars and there is still Rebels, The Bad Batch and all these upcoming Star Wars series. They never catch up at that pace.
Blind Wave did the excruciating 1 episode per week release too and it took them three years almost, I hope the Normies up it at least to 2x week but I think they won't. You have people asking for 3x or even 4x Naruto releases and I think it may just be unfeasible for them.
Man, this episode still holds a special place in my heart. It gave me so much love for my boy Rex, a great fear of those commando droids, and a plethora of great/iconic moments. Rex’s *0* hesitation headshot on the droid after seeing the flare, Hevy’s sacrifice, the masquerades by both sides, the one-shot on the worm and the bloody handprint to show they aren’t shinies anymore. And leaving us with Echo and Fives, two of the most important clones for years to come (both irl and in-universe). Such a good episode. 💙
This is the episode where Clone Wars gets good. It's not just about Space Wizards with Laser Swords anymore. Now it's a real war, and characters do not live through all of it. Even if they are "just" clones. They are real men, and they died, fighting a real war. In a galaxy far far away anyway.
Like how they show How expendable The clones are..but at the same time it shows how vital they are. Because tho the clone army Numbers in the hundreds of Millions..they are still in short supply of clones to fight the infinite Droid army
The 501st is the clone troop legion under Anakin skywalker and led by captain Rex that fought in some of the toughest battles during the clone wars and after the clone wars ended would be nicknamed Vader’s fist.
The Dark Troopers have been a thing since 1993 in the "Doom Clone" Star Wars: Dark Forces. They are strictly Imperial. They are walking tanks outfitted with armor that at one time could shrug off lightsabers. You can always tell a Dark Trooper Droid by their chassis and the "DT" designation prior to their serial numbers. Star Wars Rebels Had Dark Troopers 3 years before The Mandalorian but they were not be called Dark Troopers instead they were called Imperial Sentinel Droids. Though they have a DT designation and where taken right out from the Dark Troopers in the Dark Forces games. The droids featured in this episode are BX-series Super Commando Droids. They are more cognitive than Darktroopers and much more athletic. However, their bodies are almost as frail as the standard B1 battle droids.
It is not three years before the Mandalorian. It is 11-13 years before the Mandalorian. Seasons 1-2 of Rebels happens 4 BBY and Seasons 3-4 of Rebels happens 2 BBY. Mandalorian happens 9 ABY. So atleast a decade between Imperial Sentinels and Dark Troopers.

I thought this show got darker and more brutal as it went on but then I rewatched it and heared the way Cutup *screams in pure terror and agony* and I realised it was never a kids show.
If I'm not mistaken, the Dark Troopers were first introduced in a video game Star Wars Battlefront (2004), and they were phase 1 dark troopers, the ones that appeared in Mandalorian were Phase 3 Dark troopers. so yeah, The Commando Droids (yeah that's what they're called if you don't know) first appeared on this episode. which was after the video game. not sure if the dark troopers affected the design and creation of Commando droids though. Edit: the Dark troopers were first introduced in a 1994 videogame Star Wars: Dark Forces. but unfortunately most of the video games are de-canonized, so the only canon appearance of Dark troopers right now are the ones in Mandalorian.
For the members of domino squad their names teased their fate. Droid-bait was abushed by the commando droids 6:02, Cutup was eaten by an eel 8:50, and heavy sacrificed himself to saves his is friends by used of heavy explosives 15:28. Rex is an Advanced Recon Commando (ARC) Trooper. There are two elite clone troopers: ARC Troopers and Clone Commandos. Both types were trained by Jango Fett and his fellow mercenary trainers. ARC Troopers are trained to think more independently than normal "shinies", and Clone Commandos are trained to be unquestionably loyal to the Republic.

around 9:05 interesting scene you left out. one of the clone says "what the hell is that" which was in the original episode airing on cartoon network for like a few weeks. later taken down and bought back with changing hell to heck. side thing: aint just clone wars that did that. during this time for cn they wanted more teens and young adults to view shows with a popular one at the time being regular show. in one of the episodes involving mordecai and rigby stuck in a freezer mordercai got made and said "you pissed me off rigby." and that was on tv til lthey quickly change it to "you ticked me off." in reruns.
The 501st is the Legion/Division where Rex is from (the blue lines clones) that are more often deploy on assaults agains enemy planets. There’s another Legions that during the show you’ll see that have different colors. One of them is the Coruscant guard (Red colors) that are in charge of the security and protection of the Capital planet of the republic, Coruscant, and are deploy as well when there’s some political or diplomacy involved, for example the clones that go whit Yoda to ensure the alliance whit king Katunko. Every Legion has a Jedi as General(s), Padawan or Clones as Commanders as well Captains in that order.
God, guys sometimes... They are not the Bad Batch. The Bad Batch was a story arc that was supposed to air in later seasons but then disney came and canceld the clone wars. Only in 2020 when the final revived season aired was the Bad Batch introduced, with a way smaller story arc. Now we got a standalone series of the Bad Batch which is nice, it was a long waiting. The concept for Dark Troopers comes from the now non-canon game star wars:dark force that was released in 1995. 90 percent of the lore of the Mandalorian (also every other series that will run beside the Mandalorian) comes from either the Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels or the now proclaimed Star Wars Legends. That is why everyone is telling you to watch Clome Wars, Rebels and Bad Batch. Because you will miss out.
This episode had such great dialogue. My personal favorite: Cody: "Well, that sure complicates things, Captain" Rex: "No worse than that time on Tibrin." Cody: "We had Jedi with us on Tibrin." Rex: "They HELPED."

Cody was the second named clone in Revenge of the Sith and was Obi-Wan's clone commander. The first clone named in the entirety of Star Wars was Oddball, the first clone pilot seen in Revenge of the Sith. Edit/Additions: Dark Troopers have existed in the lore since 1995 when Star Wars Dark Forces video game came out. But yes, BX-series Commando Droids are very effective and also expensive battle droids which is why they are used sparingly while other battle droid models such as B1 battle droids, the basic battle droid, and B2 super battle droids are used as general infantry. Lastly, please tell Suraj that Domino Squad is not the Bad Batch. You will see the Bad Batch later on in the series but Domino is another unit entirely with Hevy, Echo, and Fives as some notably members of the squad.
Rex isn't great just because of good training or lucky genetic modifications. Rex is great because of all of his battlefield experience... which is usually next to Anakin.
Rex was actually made to be an ARC trooper. He was like a regular ARC not like Alpha class or recruited. They were a class of ARC that was meant to be more obedient but also more independent and intelligent. Rex and other ARCs like him were immediately put as commanders for Jedi. I suggest watching generation tech, geetslys, or echarts ladder. Also watch some (or play some) ARMA 3 clone wars stuff or Squad Galactic Contention. The new droids are BX Commando droids. The droids cost as much as like 4 of the Droideka (rollies)

General Grievous is a savage don't underestimate him, it's not his fault that druids are incompetent, early on in the war he was still receiving training under Dooku, you haven't seen him at full strength. RIP Hevy, a true hero. Commando droids are legit, but ARC troopers are absolute bosses, especially in the 501st Legion. ARC=Advanced Reconnaissance Commando. Anakin commands the 501st with Captain Rex. They work frequently with Kenobi and the 212th and are basically brothers. Commander Cody is one of the highest ranked clones in the war. Keep an eye on Dooku's assassin Asajj Ventress as well, there's more to her than meets the eye. The Bad Batch is a direct sequel to season 7 of SWTCW. Seasons 3-7 of TCW are some of the best Star Wars content out there.
Fun fact about Rex and Cody, they are 2 of the best clones, Rex is one of the best combatants in all of the clones, and Cody is a marshal commander, the highest rank a clone can achieve and Cody is to obi-wan what Rex is to anakin. Anakin and Rex are in the 501st, and obi and Cody are in the 212th

This is probably one of my favorite if not my absolute favorite episodes. So emotional and powerful, especially when I was a young kid when I watched this show as it first aired. This episode served as a message kind of similar to GoT where great characters you like and become attached to can be gone at any moment. Also what do dominoes do.... they fall.
Dark Troopers were introduced in the video game Star Wars Dark Forces from like 1995.

This one of tbe first episodes I saw of the Clone Wars and it’s still one of my favorites. Hevy was a true hero, giving everything he had to make sure they complete their mission and alert everyone.
Commander Cody is actually a character from the prequels btw. He was in episode 3.
For reference:
B1 Battle Droid - Standard Battle Droid (as well as the OOM Commander units with the yellow markings and the different pilot models).
B2 Super Battle Droids - The heavy ones with the built-in arm weaponry.
BX Commando Droids - The ones introduced here.
(the comics also had a B3 Ultra Battle Droid, but that never showed up in the actual series)
There's also a D1 battle droid you'll see briefly towards the end of the series (no spoilers so I won't describe them).
None of them are part of the Darktrooper lineage- the ones in Mandalorian were Phase III designs, with previous models/phases/variants sprinkled throughout other SW content.
I think they should release at least 2 Episodes a week. You need over 2,5 years to finish Clone Wars and there is still Rebels, The Bad Batch and all these upcoming Star Wars series. They never catch up at that pace.
Blind Wave did the excruciating 1 episode per week release too and it took them three years almost, I hope the Normies up it at least to 2x week but I think they won't. You have people asking for 3x or even 4x Naruto releases and I think it may just be unfeasible for them.

Man, this episode still holds a special place in my heart.
It gave me so much love for my boy Rex, a great fear of those commando droids, and a plethora of great/iconic moments.
Rex’s *0* hesitation headshot on the droid after seeing the flare, Hevy’s sacrifice, the masquerades by both sides, the one-shot on the worm and the bloody handprint to show they aren’t shinies anymore.
And leaving us with Echo and Fives, two of the most important clones for years to come (both irl and in-universe). Such a good episode. 💙
This is the episode where Clone Wars gets good. It's not just about Space Wizards with Laser Swords anymore. Now it's a real war, and characters do not live through all of it. Even if they are "just" clones. They are real men, and they died, fighting a real war. In a galaxy far far away anyway.
Like how they show How expendable The clones are..but at the same time it shows how vital they are. Because tho the clone army Numbers in the hundreds of Millions..they are still in short supply of clones to fight the infinite Droid army
The 501st is the clone troop legion under Anakin skywalker and led by captain Rex that fought in some of the toughest battles during the clone wars and after the clone wars ended would be nicknamed Vader’s fist.

The Dark Troopers have been a thing since 1993 in the "Doom Clone" Star Wars: Dark Forces. They are strictly Imperial. They are walking tanks outfitted with armor that at one time could shrug off lightsabers. You can always tell a Dark Trooper Droid by their chassis and the "DT" designation prior to their serial numbers. Star Wars Rebels Had Dark Troopers 3 years before The Mandalorian but they were not be called Dark Troopers instead they were called Imperial Sentinel Droids. Though they have a DT designation and where taken right out from the Dark Troopers in the Dark Forces games.
The droids featured in this episode are BX-series Super Commando Droids. They are more cognitive than Darktroopers and much more athletic. However, their bodies are almost as frail as the standard B1 battle droids.
It is not three years before the Mandalorian. It is 11-13 years before the Mandalorian. Seasons 1-2 of Rebels happens 4 BBY and Seasons 3-4 of Rebels happens 2 BBY. Mandalorian happens 9 ABY. So atleast a decade between Imperial Sentinels and Dark Troopers.

Rex is the leader of 501st batallion under the command of Anakin. This was considered one of the best batallions (if not the best) in the Republic army.
Cody is the leader of 212th batallion under Obi-Wan.
I thought this show got darker and more brutal as it went on but then I rewatched it and heared the way Cutup *screams in pure terror and agony* and I realised it was never a kids show.

Rex is an Advanced Recon Commando (ARC) Trooper. There are two elite clone troopers: ARC Troopers and Clone Commandos. Both types were trained by Jango Fett and his fellow mercenary trainers. ARC Troopers are trained to think more independently than normal "shinies", and Clone Commandos are trained to be unquestionably loyal to the Republic.

The 501st is the Legion/Division where Rex is from (the blue lines clones) that are more often deploy on assaults agains enemy planets.
There’s another Legions that during the show you’ll see that have different colors. One of them is the Coruscant guard (Red colors) that are in charge of the security and protection of the Capital planet of the republic, Coruscant, and are deploy as well when there’s some political or diplomacy involved, for example the clones that go whit Yoda to ensure the alliance whit king Katunko.
Every Legion has a Jedi as General(s), Padawan or Clones as Commanders as well Captains in that order.

God, guys sometimes... They are not the Bad Batch. The Bad Batch was a story arc that was supposed to air in later seasons but then disney came and canceld the clone wars. Only in 2020 when the final revived season aired was the Bad Batch introduced, with a way smaller story arc. Now we got a standalone series of the Bad Batch which is nice, it was a long waiting.
The concept for Dark Troopers comes from the now non-canon game star wars:dark force that was released in 1995.
90 percent of the lore of the Mandalorian (also every other series that will run beside the Mandalorian) comes from either the Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels or the now proclaimed Star Wars Legends.
That is why everyone is telling you to watch Clome Wars, Rebels and Bad Batch. Because you will miss out.

Cody was the second named clone in Revenge of the Sith and was Obi-Wan's clone commander. The first clone named in the entirety of Star Wars was Oddball, the first clone pilot seen in Revenge of the Sith.
Edit/Additions: Dark Troopers have existed in the lore since 1995 when Star Wars Dark Forces video game came out. But yes, BX-series Commando Droids are very effective and also expensive battle droids which is why they are used sparingly while other battle droid models such as B1 battle droids, the basic battle droid, and B2 super battle droids are used as general infantry.
Lastly, please tell Suraj that Domino Squad is not the Bad Batch. You will see the Bad Batch later on in the series but Domino is another unit entirely with Hevy, Echo, and Fives as some notably members of the squad.
The seargent was not apart of the Domino squad he's just been assigned to them.
Rex isn't great just because of good training or lucky genetic modifications. Rex is great because of all of his battlefield experience... which is usually next to Anakin.
Rex was actually made to be an ARC trooper. He was like a regular ARC not like Alpha class or recruited. They were a class of ARC that was meant to be more obedient but also more independent and intelligent. Rex and other ARCs like him were immediately put as commanders for Jedi.
I suggest watching generation tech, geetslys, or echarts ladder.
Also watch some (or play some) ARMA 3 clone wars stuff or Squad Galactic Contention.
The new droids are BX Commando droids. The droids cost as much as like 4 of the Droideka (rollies)
