This is a simple and very effective pump that you can do yourself with a couple of copper tubes. It's actually an air powered pump that makes use of the venturi effect. The high velocity air that passes through the smaller brass tube, mixes with the air that it's already in the larger copper tube. The air that is mixed and shot from the outlet must be replaced, and this is what causes the suction to happen.

In the Navy we call them "eductors". Powered by a 4" seawater line @ 500psi they can easily lift a 12" dia. column of water 10'. They are used to pump out flooded compartments. Design is slightly different and ejects a laminar flow instead of fogging.

Very nice project,for a container that can seal you can put an air fitting at the top to the cap and the output will be like a faucet for high cfm pumping,this works nicely as a sprayer too. I love your videos they inspire me. :)

What is that little air-compressor nozzle that you have there? I also saw you use it on a Presta valve and was wondering if it works for those too.. For potential work on compressed air canisters, and tires.

The way sandblasters etc work. Th pressure in the air tube, causes a suction to the reservoir at the bottom. Venturi effect.

My first airbrush worked exactly like this.
It would help to say what presure you use and how far the t ittle tube recedes inthe copper tube. The venturi effect must have an optimum posiion to work that fast.I know, made a few mouth-powered ink sprayers from ballpint pens and vitamin tubs. I can adjust on the go, not so much if it's soldered:)

was that a sand blaster? Will it really work as a sand blaster?
Would this work with a 7.8 L / minute air pump attaching a "T" connector at the end of a 1/4 inch piece of tubing?Would I need to reduce the size of the T connector at the exhaust end to get a bubble effect if placing the end in water? Im trying to agitate sufficient amout of oxygen into my reservoir without the use of an air stone? Please, I welcome all constructive comments on this idea! Thank you Papa

Aerosol cans work the same way. Air moving across an opening creates lower pressure at opening causing the higher pressure fluid to come out with the propellant

dude you should use the air tank that you made in the other video for the pump then attach a paper towel to the end of the pipes tube then it can be a homemade vacume for a counter

Ehi guys can someone exsplain me what would happen if the brasstube protudes from the copper tube? And if the brasstube has the edges of the 2 tubes are alligned? In the last configuration shouldn't we have more negative pressure because the exterrnal surface is wider? Explain me please :(

I think it's called an "atomiser" . Same principle as an old-fashioned throat spray with rubber bulb or what the barber used to use to spray grow-fast on you newly cropped bonce- "See you again soon.", says the barber.

+Italo Melo The tube that is submerged in the water is too long and it can't suck water. You can either cut it to the length of mine, or you can prime the tube with water to help it to start pulling the water... Try again and tell me the result

this is the Venturi pump, it was invented by Giovanni Battista Venturi in 1797

Dylan Brown If you take two tubes and put them at 90 degrees one from the other with the bottom (the dip one) slightly in the path of the other, you can make a mouth one.
It's called an atomizer (google that with "art" and you'll get a few pictures), i used one right up until hair spray fixatives became a dry powder (some, not all) and they wouldn't ruin the paper and later when firms like Faber Castell made their own sprays specialized for that.
