never said he wasn't evil but he is not 1 DIMENSIONAL. Kirby had alot in store for him but im guessing youre thinking about that new 52 bullshit.
i see many say that he IS a EVIL warlord that conquers world for the sake of being evil with no motivation at all. this statement here is getting tiresome and really generic. Darkseid´s goal has always been to look for the anti life. now this is really interesting and the way his character is portrayed is pretty shakespearean and more of a concept of evil than a person. Darksied wants to take over the entire world? that's not really it. he wants to strip away the free will out of every life form, he sees no meaning in life as it has always brought endless suffering filled with sins. he sees it as a tool of creating a meaningless purpose in existence.
Darkseid is not just a god or an alien invader; he is the evil each of us has that we want to hide or get away. However, we can never get away from him because he is in us.
Once you accept that Darkseid is, you realize that his will is unavoidable. You realize that your distruction is pre-ordained, and all that you can hope for is a swift and relatively painless death as a reward for obedience. The alternative is much worse.

@@Maelkor it's getting tiresome explaining this to the people who say Thanos is a much more interesting and complex character. But in the end, Darkseid is far more interesting, sophisticated, well-motivated, intimidating and original as a character
@@mriganabhkashyap1564 lol Thanos gets too much jerked off on. While he has an interesting personality, it’s very similar to many other characters and makes him nothing unique. His motive can be relatable which is why most people like him but in the end for me characters that are not relatable interests me more they feel more like an abstract concept. I believe dr doom is the best character in marvel and far more superior villain than thanos but Darkseid he is something else. His presence feels more terrifying than both characters. I can’t name a villain that is like Darkseid atleast Kirby’s interpretation of Darkseid.
Animated JL and JL unlimited were such great shows.
Honestly some of the best animation I’ve ever seen, considering it came from the BTAS and STAS we must give it credit but my personal fav was justice league season 2, everything in the Tim burton animated universe is damn near perfect and a great watch.

Imagine how powerful Superman would be if he had Zods (krypton) battle armor over his suit with his suit looking like a combination of Kryptonian material, amazonian armor, atlantian armor, green lantern armor, and shazams armor design, with him wearing all the lantern type rings, the abilities of Shazam and with Dianas wrist gauntlets and ocean masters helmet, atlans trident, and the combined (cyborg like) armor of the mother boxes inbeded in his suit and access to all of the internet. Also with (snyder cut) Steppenwolf armor material inbeded into the suit.
He would be a true god like being with his powers being rivaled by no one.

I thought Snyder cut was an awesome movie.
It is.
The way he goes down to Zeus and Ares, and the ease that Superman takes down Steppenwolf with, makes me really skeptical of the power scaling here. Either Zeus and Ares would stomp Superman, or Darksied is WAY more powerful now than he was the first time they invaded Earth.
Zeus and Ares is powerful mainly because I think, this is just my speculation here, their power comes from the old gods of the old planet that both New Genesis and Apokolips came from. like they are literally the same powers, another angle here is that Darkseid I think Underestimated the power of earthlings and never went the full power he did, I mean the guy didn't even had armor on.
So which version of darkseid ZS used in JL. New 52 or the old one.

Steppenwolf dies a few times but never does anything significantly bothersome for darkseid

The new 52 origin of Darkseid was really bad and contradictory to itself. But maybe it was because gods in DC have multiple origins due to their Archetypal nature and myths.
I actually really like it the only thing I would change is that uxas aborbs the omega forces instead of god powers
@@projekttaku1 yes, but thats one of the problems, it really never made sense along with the Yuga Khan stuff, who should not be there if Darkseid was a "farmer" and high father as his brother was stupid as well, and it sounded a lot more like old gods story than New gods. I think thats why it was never mentioned again.

@@projekttaku1 nah, the previous origin was much more intimidating, it was written by Jack Kirby. The new origin was lame and all it did was to catch up to the modern trend of showing villains good, it took away all the menace and godly terror of Darkseid, and it over complicated New Gods completely, it became even more complicated when the New Gods and concepts who should not exist due to this change, started coming back like previously mentioned Yuga Khan, Omega force etc. It even contradicts itself in later n52 and rebirth, because it doesn't make sense.
But thanks to Grant Morrison, we can consider it one of the origins of New Gods and these origins doesn't matter because Gods are ideas not aliens and every emanation of New Gods have different story, but they lead to the same conclusion.

Jim Starlin had admitted that he ripped off Darkseid to make thanos. Kirby left D.C. because they didn’t allow him to finish his story on the new gods. So he wanted to continue that story at marvel. He made the eternals as analogue to what he did at dc for the new gods.
