This is welcomed news! I overtightened two of them. According to the site, the mega infraction is running .8mod/32 pitch pinion now. The old Megan’s ran 48 pitch that pretty much required buying the 32 pitch to go brushless.

I like the bench videos almost as much as the bashing videos. It's always cool to learn tips and tricks before going out and purchasing something so you know exactly what you can expect when driving a new rc. And what issues to look out for. Thank you.
So one reason I bought a Traxxas Hoss and I wish Arrma would do the same , center diff ! I've had zero issues with my Traxxas 3s line running center diffs compared to slipper clutch .
I bought the center diff and lowered the diff lube for my rustler 4x4 vxl after buying the hoss and liked the center diff. After getting a notorious 6s and a kraton 6s v5 and having fun with them, I still find it fun to run the typhon and other 3s after.
Ok, everyone is saying it's the slipper from the mega. If it's a durable change cool. If you strip out the spur it looks like you have to buy the WHOLE assembly. You Can't upgrade to a metal spur unless it comes as assembly. You would have to switch it to the 4s slipper style. Not sure about this until I see someone put Power to it and if it holds up! Hey Earl, glad you got the first hand look at the new beast, can always count on you to pick up real details that matter like the new slipper. I bought one of my 1/10th arrma s as a mega, the typhon. Interestly, they chose to use a craptasticly frail gearing on the spur and pinion are tiny teeth, like you get on a WL toys that strip out immediately when you upgrade the power. It’s easily changed by fitting the 3s slipper. The mega slipper design looks similar though with the plastic nut to tighten and visible spring, that part actually worked decent so wondering if they combined the mega mechanism with an upgraded pad system . The sight said it’s a single pad set up which should make changing gears so much easier then the multi pad arrangement now. Two additional items I’m curious about you may have gotten a peak at… 1) they show new front and rear diffs, if you look at the sight they show a shot of them open and they appear to use a unique spider gear arrangement where the spider gears spindle ends are held securely in a hollow tube which potentially an upgrade for other 3s rigs if the bulkhead ‘ diff mounts are the same. I never had issues with the old set up and it may be that there geared differently to account for the small wheel size of the street rigs so not usable on the other units. You mention there plastic so I assume you saw them, anything you saw suggest we can use them on other 3s? 2) the part on front and rear bulkhead that the brace fits into, is that a piece you think could be fitted to other 3s rigs? Hard to tell, but it looks like the shock tower itself is where it mounts, that’s a shame because it’s a much shorter shock tower then the 3s… I never had any arrma 4s 10th scales, but maybe the outcast/kraton 4s towers would work on a 3s and be more appropriately sized. I agree that these street machines are probably more then rigid without it, but I have some of my 3s heavily modified to 4s machines with 3674 cans and belted tires etc which brings up the weight considerably, I would love to be able to add a tower to tower brace. I know there’s chassis upgrades but they seem too much added weight for there benefit. I will probably buy both eventually, but since I don’t actually do much street driving and already have 4 or 5 10th scale street rigs and a felony, limitless and zd racing felony sort of clone I am not in a rush and will probably wait till we see if the infraction comes in a brushless version since that is the one body style I don’t have yet and the multi terrain design seems interesting. There’s also a 4s infraction clone from hpi available soon, I’m a Arrma fanboy tried and true so probably go for the arrma even if I have to convert it to brushless first but it great to see a lot of new stuff on the market! On that note there’s two other new rigs of interest out there, the zd racing 7th scale desert racer which has gotten good reviews and the redcat kaiju ext. I was considering which one to buy first, in the end the kaiju ext won out so I pre ordered it
What I've been waiting for is what is called Easter eggs from Arma as little jabs towards Traxxas similar to what's going on between Dodge and Ford I don't think Chevy has anything
I love the fact they put holes in the body above the tires. I'm hoping it is to keep gravel from grabbing the servo and in the rear to let debris out and not let as much to get in the casing with the spur and pinion causing issues.

Idk if it's a new slipper this looks like the crappy one from the v2 mega line... if you go look up the older brushed granite v2 model but I had it as my 1st rc seen when I changed it over to brushless it gave me all kinds of issues I hope they fixed it cause my old granite had like a 81t spur
Yeah as soon as I saw it I remember changing my mega granite to brushless the diff input gear was longer an had to be cut down to fit I ended having to all new diffs input gear an slipper out of the 3s line cause back then the v2 were actually different from brushed to brushless it was a mess but what's really funny is it's the same green color as my granite wish I could post pictures on here
Hey Earl, I checked the part numbers for the spur gears and they are indeed different numbers. The Vendetta spur is ARA311103 and the spur clutch assembly is ARA311110 (lotta ones) while the Vorteks spur is ARA310947 and spur clutch assembly is ARA311034. Hopes this helps anyone needing the part numbers.
✌🏻😎🏴Dope info as always Earl👍🏻. Please can you do a couple of drag on 2s to see what times you get out of it ? The slipper in the 3s lineup are to tight out of the box. I usually loosen them up. I don’t really want my Senton & Typhon doing wheelies. Its cool for like 5 minutes. I’ve never tried to tighten it again after that if I do it’s fractions of a turn. Placing a line & or dot will help with controlling how much you turn it & keeping it where you want once it was set the 1st time. I know of a few people on TH-cam have broken a couple & stripping a ton of gears.
Earl I was doing some research and the arrma Typhon v3 4x4 mega brushed buggy rc rtr has the same Slipper clutch as the New 3s Vendetta and the brush version infraction!
was wanting n asked if a no prep drag body would fit on it that bein a better size comparision !!!cuz it appears to be that size sc 4x4 with short arms but most keeps sayin its not 1/8 scale its really 1/10, but a sc or 1/8 buggy wit a car body is 1/8 on road .a 1/10 on road is 4 tec sized n way smaller but i ask rc guy garage to ask u then i get a answer lol
Just to let people know. The shocks seem to be a new design also. They are adjustable. That piece that looks like the cap is actually the spring perch.

Interseting video and good information about the slipper and what to expect. I think its a great car for the money. Especially for people who want to get into some speed ripping on a budget. Upgrade some parts in the future and should be a fun little runner for sure.

@@westtxgreg yea unfortunately it is. I just changed that clutch out of my 9 year old's Granite truck. Now has hobbywing 120amp/3300kv. And I replaced with 4s extra clutch parts I had.

Simple fact is that with the price hike ($615 in the UK) these cars should now come with a center diff and metal gears. I did notice that they had changed the slipper set up again, they also changed in from the V2 to V3 to try to stop it coming loose, clearly that didnt work, i did a video of how to correctly set the v2 slipper and try to stop it coming loose, and instead of actually sorting it with a center diff they take the cheap option and load the price still
Purly cost saving on the slipper down grade, the price in the UK for the slipper kit assembly complete with plastic spur in the current 3s BLX cars is rrp £50. The Mega slipper kit assembly complete with plastic spur is only £30 + the new Vendetta is to expensive with cheaper parts fitted.
My experience running this slipper glutch on my mega typhon 91t spur with a 33t pinion all 48p, is that the main failure for me was the plastic shaft that holds the bearing onto the spur gear it will always melt once it hit 90mpn+.
Could’ve at least come with a 4268 or 4274mm can with how much they charge for them I bet it’ll run hot after a couple of runs with that taller gearing,and you could dremel those motor mount holes to fit bigger gearing too.
Why cant arrma come out with a durable and easily adjustable slipper clutch? Still plastic diffs to upgrade its close to $150. How am i supposed to recommend the 3s line when traxxas vehicles are so much easier to work on for the new person getting into rc.

The red upper brace on the 4s was and is no use,it bends ya motor mount, ran my outcast for over a year without it,better handling and no motor mount bend.If it made a difference then why haven't the 3s range which use 4s chassis have them.they make no odds.✌
My big rock bent the motor mount to and no brace ?? The brace only connects the front and rear diff housing then arrma made the ExB motor mount thicker 👀👀
Do you think they will put this new set up in the Infraction MEGA? Arrma usually like to make their cars upgrade ready. This would be a huge selling point for me on that new MEGA.
@@earlmoorhead5555 yeah, all the 3s blx use the same except the vendetta, but the brushes mega versions use the vandetta style slipper, but atleast it looks like mod .8 gearing, I think the reason why they went to go with the mega Style slipper clutch is because of the smaller tires less weight and less rotating Mass

What do you think about the 4s Kraton? I’m looking for an off-road for my 10 year old daughter. She mostly runs on road but wants a bigger off-road (her vorteks is too low) and I was just sharing vids/pics of her running to rc guy. Im thinking if I want to go with a used 4s then paint a new body or just find a 6s since it’s a lil more durable.

I put 6s to it already in the latest video running 104 mph cutting off it seems to hold up on a speed run being it’s a 50t spur now and 32 pitch 👍👍

A very welcomed change. Everyone that had the 4s line probably experienced the nightmare of the slipper clutch set up.
All my 4s line been ok but the 3s line I’ve gotten has had issues out the box 👀👀

I've been running this setup on my senton for two years now , 50t spur gives you more top speed, they are a single slipper pad btw.

Purly cost saving on the slipper down grade, the price in the UK for the slipper kit assembly complete with plastic spur in the current 3s BLX cars is rrp £50. The Mega slipper kit assembly complete with plastic spur is only £30 + the new Vendetta is to expensive with cheaper parts fitted.
This is the 32 pitch brushless upgrade on the Maga line with a small spur from what I see on the part number I can find 🤔

That's just like the slipper clutch on the arrma Mega brushed versions
Almost different pitch and different part number then a brushed
with my arrma granite blx have the slipper clutch, what i do I locked with metal spur gear, and never have that problem is gone forever

That was on the mega but it was a different spur
My experience running this slipper glutch on my mega typhon 91t spur with a 33t pinion all 48p, is that the main failure for me was the plastic shaft that holds the bearing onto the spur gear it will always melt once it hit 90mpn+.

Could’ve at least come with a 4268 or 4274mm can with how much they charge for them I bet it’ll run hot after a couple of runs with that taller gearing,and you could dremel those motor mount holes to fit bigger gearing too.

Why cant arrma come out with a durable and easily adjustable slipper clutch? Still plastic diffs to upgrade its close to $150. How am i supposed to recommend the 3s line when traxxas vehicles are so much easier to work on for the new person getting into rc.

went back to Traxxas 3s line due to the same things. Arrma diffs strip after a few runs it adds up quick

Oh weird my granite from well over a year ago has the new slipper clutch, I was wondering why there were a bunch of different versions online!

The inside of the front rear differential have metal spider gears ⚙️
The red upper brace on the 4s was and is no use,it bends ya motor mount, ran my outcast for over a year without it,better handling and no motor mount bend.If it made a difference then why haven't the 3s range which use 4s chassis have them.they make no odds.✌
My big rock bent the motor mount to and no brace ?? The brace only connects the front and rear diff housing then arrma made the ExB motor mount thicker 👀👀

Do you think they will put this new set up in the Infraction MEGA? Arrma usually like to make their cars upgrade ready. This would be a huge selling point for me on that new MEGA.
Yes different pitch spur with a 55t is what I believe the part number showed when Rc guy looked them up

@@earlmoorhead5555 yeah, all the 3s blx use the same except the vendetta, but the brushes mega versions use the vandetta style slipper, but atleast it looks like mod .8 gearing, I think the reason why they went to go with the mega Style slipper clutch is because of the smaller tires less weight and less rotating Mass
That is the same slipper clutch setup that they have in the arrma senton brushed motor trucks

Was Thinking Putting The Big Rock Motor Into The Vendetta.. Will It Be FASTER Than The Vendetta Motor, With The 26t Pinion Gear?
Kv is motor speed like RPM the higher KV the more it spins so less kv less spinning so adding a lover kv motor will slow it down with the same gearing

@@earlmoorhead5555 I thought the infraction mega has composite links and the vendetta has adjustable turnbuckles . Sounds good. I just ordered the chassis brace stuff, metal motor mount from the vendetta and the driveshaft support.
What do you think about the 4s Kraton? I’m looking for an off-road for my 10 year old daughter. She mostly runs on road but wants a bigger off-road (her vorteks is too low) and I was just sharing vids/pics of her running to rc guy. Im thinking if I want to go with a used 4s then paint a new body or just find a 6s since it’s a lil more durable.

Just looked at the part numbers for slipper parts the other day and cought myself looking at the brushed version. Same spur gear and all as the vendetta. It's from the mega line. Weak. No metal gears!
No metal gears at all and the only difference I can find is the spur gear teeth from brushed to brushless 🤔
@@earlmoorhead5555 Only reason it even works is because the 3900kv and 26t pinion hardly has any torque. It would blow apart on 3200kv 15t pinion
